I'm thinking a VBXE compatible GUI would do the trick! Either way, I'm always eager to see new GUI's for the Atari. Too bad our CPU is too slow for the task. :/
-
I'm psyched, really!
-
I only beat Ultima III on the NES. Was there a huge difference between that version and the computer one?
-
Man, if you guys are going to have fights, at least give me a chance to lay bets first...

Welcome to our little cult! You may leave your blood sacrifice at the alter.

therealbountybob : It has been FOREVER since I've played this, but I'm planning on putting the 800xl back together this week end and giving it ago.
I used to have it on floppy (can't remember if it was an original though), but I sold my Floppy Collection years ago and run everything via XEX or ATR now a days, with the exception of the carts I buy here and there.

bad omen
they put dead people in bags like these
This is a fact, I just had to put a friend in one of these the other day. :/
Still funny as hell comment though!

Great game, I forgot all about it!
-
Did any software for the BioFeedback kit ever get released or leaked?
-
You rock and good night!
-
How did I over look this?! And a software app is being written for it as well! Perfect! I know I'll want a couple of these for sure!
-
This is one game I'd happily buy if it existed! I've felt the same way for years!
-
Peace Pipe! Did someone say Peace Pipe?! Don't bogart that peace pipe my friend!

-
My heart rate just increased...
-
Well...
neither he or I want to say goodbye, but if we have to, I believe we're as ready for it as we possibly can be. He's been a great friend and a wonderful mentor, I've plenty enough memories to grow on, but you know, I'd prefer for more.

Preppie, My father's in a similar boat, so I understand how you must feel.

I can not access the keyboard test because of this issue, but I did press all the keys and none of them seem stuck or anything to that effect. I was just using it a couple weeks ago if that and they were fine. The Computer had been sitting in a nice safe area so nothing could have fallen on it or anything to that effect.
I went ahead and removed the keyboard from my dead 600xl that I bought off ebay for $10.50 shipping and all, and low and behold, everything works fine again!
I presume it has something to do with the contacts in this case and that's not something I'm willing to try to fix my self, but if anyone else is good at this sort of thing, perhaps they'd be interested in having a look? Assuming B&C does not accept it back of course. Like I said, I bought it about a month ago so...
In regards to using a Sega Master System track ball with the Atari 8-bit...
...well the 1 button works, but button 2 and the ball have no effect what so ever. Bummer, tis a very nice track ball, the best I've ever owned I believe.
-
So I had my 800XL sitting on to the side. I had ordered a new keyboard for it from B&C about a month or two ago and it all worked fine, but today when I boot it up, the cursor runs down the screen and no buttons seem to be pressed nor do they work, though I can reset the machine and if I boot while holding ESC, the cursor does not begin scrolling until I let go of it.
I have not dropped this or spilled anything on it, the only thing I did do was plug in a Sega Master System track ball to see if it would work with it. Could that have fried something on the keyboard per chance?

I want the equivalent of Cynthcart for the Atari 8-bit line of computers, as well as a ton of games and applications that support Dual Pokey, VBXE, Secondary buttons on control pads, Covox, and additional RAM.

-
Cool, can't wait for my VBXE to arrive in the mail.
-
Very fun to think about indeed! And the funny thing is that I really can't think of a single practical application for this hardware, at least nothing that can be done on it that can't be done on an already existing C64, but I'm going to order one anyhow. Same goes for the 7800 modification that is soon to release. I've no use for it, it really doesn't have a software library that takes advantage of it's features, but something inside me tells me I must own one.

I guess deep within my soul I believe that a group of coders will come along, recognize all this awesome retro gear we have within our reach, and begin churning out musick apps and games that put everything we've seen in the past to shame.

Anyone know where to get the plans to build one of these?
