  1. Title Match Pro Wrestling is another one, game play sucks but the graphics are pretty good and the way the wrestlers move is HILARIOUS.

And how can you not like Activision Boxing, What is wrong with you son?????????? :P

  2. Sprint Master - Guess that would be Driving controllers but still

Galaxian - Heck if your going to say Space Invaders

    Gravitar

    Megamania

Just a few off the top of my head

Some good suggestions here. Especially with Sprintmaster. Why they heck would you design a piece of hardware (for Indy 500) and not re-use it for other games? It would've given Atari the opportunity to sell more DCs.

Thomas Jentzch made a Sprintmaster DC hack.

I have never played it but I really want to; oh well one of these days I will get a Harmony Cart or Stella Adapter and be able to rock it.

Also I greatly agree that paddle versions of Enduro and Pole Position would be awesome.

  3. Yes! I have finally made it to death screen in Demon Attack, it was the most beautiful high pitch whine I have ever heard!

And now I finally know what version of Demon Attack I have. One of these days I will have to try and find the other version that doesn't crash after wave 84 so i can see how high I can get my score.

  4. I enjoy the game play and love that the blocks have a blurry tracers following them to make them look like they are going even faster. The only thing that would hold me back from buying it is that the sounds are way too sparse, if it had some more cool sounds it would be alot more enjoyable of a gaming experience.

  5. It seems like lately this game is getting more and mroe expensive and tricky to find. Trying to find a cheap copy in good condition is proving extremely difficult. Everybody on ebay has the price set at 15, 16 dollars. And then factor in the 4 dollar shipping. Ridiculous.

try looking or posting something in the market place that is the best bet to get a good deal on it in good condition

  6. Wow that is very cool.

I also remember having a program that would turn any image into one of those 3-D images you had to look at just right to see. (See below)

That might be pretty cool to use on a picture of an Atari as well.

Do you remember what the software was and where I could get? I would love to make my own magic eyes!

  7. Since you dont do mods you can buy one modded for you but it will cost you a pretty penny

Also keep in mind that the atari 2600 was designed to be viewed on standard CRT TV monitors not hi def flat screens. High def TVs will give you sharper cleaner lines but the atari graphics where actual designed to blur a little on standard CRTs so they would blend together and look a little less blocky. For evidence of this play a cart with an awesome sunset on it, like Barnstorming or BMX Airmaster, on a CRT and a high def TV (or even an emulator) and you will see the sunset looks a lot nicer and a little more "natural" on the standard CRT.

  8. No doubt I missed it earlier in this thread, but can someone tell me how you change from one game to another on the harmony cart? Do you switch the Atari off and on again, or is there a reset button on the cart taking you back to the index like there is with the Atarimax flash cart series?

Right now you power-cycle. The Atarimax is not for the 2600, right? I assume it's not because there is practically no way a switch could work on a conventional 2600 multicart as there is no interrupt line on the CPU (much less the cart slot.)

The Harmony could actually get around the interrupt thing, however, but it won't have a button on the cart.

I thought I would mention that on Harmony it would be theoretically possible to run the menu from a game based on a combination of console switches and/or controller fiddling without needing a power cycle. The question is how desirable would that be, and if such code could fit in the BIOS.

I think it would be desireable because it would reduce overuse of the power on/off switch when flicking through games, but then again, the Atari is not the Colecovision - its switches are more durable.

I also agree that not having to turn off and on the system to change game would be greatly desirable.

Batari might I humbly suggest that the way to get back to the Harmony cart menu should be to press both the Game Select and Game Reset switches on the console at the same time. If technically feasible I believe this would be the simplest and most intuitive control scheme for switching to another game.

  9. Laser Gates is a must play

    River Raid II

    Shuttle Orbiter

    Rescue Terra I

    Frankenstein's Monster

    Bump N Jump

    Polaris

    Sir Lancelot

    Star Strike

    Strategy X

    Time Pilot

Track And Field (but you need the track and field controller to make it fun to play for more than 2 minutes)

Tanks But No Tanks (prepare to go into a seizure due to all the flickering)

    Beamrider

Video Life (I dont know why but I just like it, it is like lazy sim city you just set it up and it takes care of its self)

  10. The Atari was totally a family unit because it was originally more marketed as a grown up toy and if the parents where had the kids were bound to beg until they could play it too.

It is to late to edit so I have fix it the lame way by quoting my self, what I meant to say was:

The Atari was totally a family unit because it was originally more marketed as a grown up toy and if the parents were playing the kids were bound to beg until they could play it too.

Man I need to stop posting so late at night because my drowsiness is making me sound like a moron :dunce:

  11. Didnt they ever see all the hooky 1970 pictures of family's all playing their Atari together?
