ok wait the atari 7800 is way better than the colecovision just look at this vid My link and this one
you will notice that the 7800 one is better'Cept that Dig Dug for the ColecoVision wasn't even finished. That's a prototype. There was no Dig Dug released for the ColecoVision.
-edit- I think a better video comparison would be Eduardo's Pac Man Collection and Bob's Pac-Man Collection with Pokey additions. (Both awesome by the way.)

Did I read correctly that Victory uses the trakball? Is it playable any other way? A good game overall?
If so, can I get Pitstop & Victory for $10 shipped?
(BTW- Qbert & Mouse Trap are gone, unless of course there are multiple carts for sale)
I think he's got more than are on the list... I've bought over 20 that are on that list.

Can't beat the prices, the quality of the product or the shipping on these. Bump for a great seller.

There was a third part controller the Prostick III for the ColecoVision that used a passthrough cable for the controller so you could still access the number buttons. Couldn't a passthrough setup work for a driving controller or set of paddles so that you could have both hooked up at the same time? I don't know how either the paddles or the driving controller work but I assume there would be an issue with them competing for movement...

I won the Conan comics!

Im really hoping for that n64 game with the monkey, but his name isnt donkey.....
[im sorry was that wrong of me?]
I got RickHarrisMaine but I haven't heard anything about whether or not he enjoyed what he got. It didn't come back to my address in pieces so I assume it was well received. Looks like he keeps weird hours here though...

The person who I got didn't have anything Atari on their list.

Uh-oh, maybe you got me then....LOL!
I don't remember if I put anything Atari on my list.
If I got you, then you probably already received the Box-O-crap. 'Cuz I sent it out ages ago.

What'd ya get?

-Edit- Just checked. Wasn't you. I got a famous Stage and Hollywood star as my recipient.
-
It's not about what you give or how much you spend or the value of your gift in monetary terms....
it's about sharing the joy of Atari with others!

I sent mine out the weekend after it was announced. How many people have received their gifts?

I couldn't make it through the Fearfully video. But I'll bump it because it was quite entertaining.
And on the Cheetos: I AM NOW BLIND. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Bump
I bought the first one that went up for sale in this thread. It works flawlessly. Yurkie offers the highest quality work and truly the best customer service you will ever have here at AA or anywhere else for that matter! Love the picture from the composite mod. Works faboo on my 55" LCD.

best electronics and b+c knock the spots off video 61 imo
Video 61 (www.atarisales.com) has the best customer service that you will find anywhere in the Atari business. Lance is a very decent person and he will help you with anything. I can't comment on the others but I can't imagine that they are as nice as Lance. Plus, Video 61 is the only one that offers free shipping for orders over $40 (i.e. most orders), they have the most thorough selection and availability of all Atari products out there, with competitive prices on most items. And now, there is the holiday sale! You certainly won't get free games anywhere else, so do yourself a favor and order something from Video 61 today.
I'm not sure about the most thorough selection (I'm not saying they don't, just that Best's is awful big), but I for one am very big on customer service. There's something to be said about paying a premium for it.
Fortunately the only company I've had to deal with for Atari stuff has been Best (soon Legacy as well
) for a 5200 Controller, and they were standup. But I agree that the community should definitely support those outfits that are, in effect, supporting us!!The legacy of Video 61 is very interesting. Their warehouse was the central distribution center for Atari in the Midwest after Jack took over the company. In my mind, I imagine it to be like the warehouse in the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark...

The location is secret...
The contents are amazing...
WAREHOUSE 61!

Ot of curiosity, what does the current incarnation of Atari think of this? Surely they must know that this is being produced. Are the getting a kick out of it, or are they more confused than anything else? They must appreciate that your keeping the Atari name relevant, but do they even "get" what your doing here?
My guess is that current "Atari" hasn't the foggiest idea this exists... Oh maybe a couple of nerdy engineers that work around the office know about it and have mentioned it at the water cooler but I'd bet real money that Atari today (which is really just a brand name) has absolutely no clue about it and they [sadly] probably don't even care.

I did notice that Grayhill has some individual switches that can be connected together to make a keypad. Kind of pricey, though. I think I'm just going to use regular arcade buttons, arranged as tightly as possible, so they don't take up too much space.
I'm probably going to get this bundle, unless someone else has a better idea: http://www.xgaming.com/store/arcade-parts-and-accessories/product/arcade-parts-bundle-2-joysticks-20-buttons/. It's $40, which looks reasonable, and shipping to Canada is only $10 ($8 to US). They also accept PayPal. Player 1 will have a "keypad", while player 2 will not, so the 2 joysticks and 18/20 buttons will work out quite nicely.
Thanks,
5-11under
I have been thinking about building an Arcade Controller for the ColecoVision for a long time. My main concern was the keypad. I won a set of keypads on ebay last night. If I make an Arcade Controller I will recess one of these keypads in the panel, and then I can use original or reproduction overlays. I would also use yellow, red, purple and blue arcade buttons so that Super Action games could be played. My layout from left to right would be keypad, 4 SA buttons in a diagonal line like back slash, then the joystick. None of that left handed joystick crap for me. I would then wire both controller ports to this one controller so that it was shared for 2 player games. I would use the guts from a SAC and run wires from it.
Would be super cool to have a nice custom control panel overlay made.
I would get the arcade buttons and joystick from
I didn't even know those keypads existed.

and bought from them
Yeah I would guess that too!

Maybe so in price. But I think they're all generally good people.
Ironically, in speaking with Lance at Video 61, I learned that Video 61 have been in business since 1983. Best has been in business since 1985. Lance is good buddies with both of the gents from Best Electronics and B&C. He's even sold to both of them.

Video 61 & Atari Sales (www.atarisales.com), the best online retailer for ALL Atari products, is now having a holiday sale. For every $25 you spend on the site, you get one free game from the list, including choices for 2600, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, and more.
Here's the link:
http://members.tcq.net/video61/holiday2010.html
And, no, I am not in any way affiliated with this merchant. But I do highly recommend that you buy from him, as the customer service is as good as it gets, the selection and prices are great, there is free shipping on all orders over $40, and now (through December 31, 2010--there is a typo on the site, which says 2009) there is this great holiday sale! What are you waiting for?
He's from MN! Sweet. Just called him up and talked with him for a spell. Really great guy. I ordered a couple of items and get two games free!
Since there wasn't a link to the prices above, Here is a link to the main page for prices: http://members.tcq.net/video61/main.html
Thanks for the heads up, Atari Forever!

I would think the real key is also getting a functional CV unless you are good at cleaning and repairing electronics then you probably wouldn't care.
I think Yurkie usually sells his referbished and modded ones for between 100 - 130 depending on if the unit he is selling has his controller mods that make the controllers awesome. Then it is the higher range price. Otherwise people usually see prices from 70 - 120 without these mods that yurkie has. At least you know when you get it from him it will be in perfect condition. But like I said if you know how to fix things yourself then you could probably just get one for 70 - 120.
You can always try to hold out for one on ebay that stays a low price but I hear a lot of those are sold as is and usually need some fixing.
To add to that not only are the controllers modified but they're refurbished. The solder joints are checked and often resoldered to make sure they're completely functional.

Hello people!
Just want to give everyone potentially interested a heads-up about a copy of Pac-Man Collection for ColecoVision which is currently on eBay. It's one with a hard-to-find yellow cartridge!
It's being auctioned off by a friend of mine. I gave him a copy for his birthday in 2009, and I told him he could sell it on eBay at the appropriate time of his own choosing. He doesn't own a ColecoVision console, which means that the cart is still brand new!
Check it out here: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170569081807
Including shipping to the U.S. that thing went for $98.54.
Your buddy made out like a bandit! Cool!

Pm sent. Description says everything is still available but I paid you for two items above.

Maybe you could print small labels with the locations for the wires rather than color code? If they were stickers you could include them in the kit for the user to apply.
