My guess is that current "Atari" hasn't the foggiest idea this exists... Oh maybe a couple of nerdy engineers that work around the office know about it and have mentioned it at the water cooler but I'd bet real money that Atari today (which is really just a brand name) has absolutely no clue about it and they [sadly] probably don't even care.

I have been thinking about building an Arcade Controller for the ColecoVision for a long time. My main concern was the keypad. I won a set of keypads on ebay last night. If I make an Arcade Controller I will recess one of these keypads in the panel, and then I can use original or reproduction overlays. I would also use yellow, red, purple and blue arcade buttons so that Super Action games could be played. My layout from left to right would be keypad, 4 SA buttons in a diagonal line like back slash, then the joystick. None of that left handed joystick crap for me. I would then wire both controller ports to this one controller so that it was shared for 2 player games. I would use the guts from a SAC and run wires from it. Would be super cool to have a nice custom control panel overlay made. I would get the arcade buttons and joystick from http://www.happcontrols.com/ I didn't even know those keypads existed.

Video 61 Atari Sales Holiday Sale!
Madaracs replied to Atari forever!'s topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Maybe so in price. But I think they're all generally good people. Ironically, in speaking with Lance at Video 61, I learned that Video 61 have been in business since 1983. Best has been in business since 1985. Lance is good buddies with both of the gents from Best Electronics and B&C. He's even sold to both of them. -
Video 61 Atari Sales Holiday Sale!
Madaracs replied to Atari forever!'s topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
He's from MN! Sweet. Just called him up and talked with him for a spell. Really great guy. I ordered a couple of items and get two games free! Since there wasn't a link to the prices above, Here is a link to the main page for prices: http://members.tcq.net/video61/main.html Thanks for the heads up, Atari Forever! -
To add to that not only are the controllers modified but they're refurbished. The solder joints are checked and often resoldered to make sure they're completely functional.

Re-Volt on Dreamcast or PC -
Maybe you could print small labels with the locations for the wires rather than color code? If they were stickers you could include them in the kit for the user to apply.

Yeah, he is still in Brazil I guess. He didn't respond to my last email.

Pac-Man Collection (ColecoVision) completed. Going beta test
Madaracs replied to opcode's topic in Opcode Games
It is a thing of beauty. Can't wait until he's back from Brazil and finishes up his DK project. -
Right now, the Space Invaders Collection from Opcode is not available for purchase... I don't know if he plans to make any more of them. If anyone has a spare or doesn't want their's I'd be interested in purchasing it. PM me if you want to sell yours.

I'm looking for a manual for the Sega Master System game: Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse. If anyone has one I'd be much obliged to make a reasonable deal.

New Version A/V Composite Mod for ColecoVision
Madaracs replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
First off: WOW is the composite SO -super- bright and crisp. I'll have to admit, I pretty much try to use the RF as it tends to look great on CVs compared to Atari stuff but this mod is amazing. Great work. This is also the first CV I've owned that has had NO power switch issues whatsoever upon arrival. I do believe, despite what anyone else might say about this or that causing graphic artifacts--dirty cartridge ports, bad carts, etc, the real problem with 99% of CVs is the dastardly old power switch. Every CV I've had that appeared to be completely dead or have game artifacts was immediately brought back to life with a power switch mod or refurb. THANKS. This thing is awesome! -

Season 4 Round 11 *Pac-Man Collection/Pac-Man*

Nothing so fancy. I don't recall what year this was made but it is vintage VCS era so that logic would have been expensive. It just allows you to keep your favorite games in. Press the switch of the game you want and reset the VCS. Quite the novelty. Here's one that doubledown modded some time ago: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/61804-modded-video-game-brain-atari-2600-game-changer/
