  1. First off: WOW is the composite SO -super- bright and crisp. myico-grin.png I'll have to admit, I pretty much try to use the RF as it tends to look great on CVs compared to Atari stuff but this mod is amazing. Great work. This is also the first CV I've owned that has had NO power switch issues whatsoever upon arrival. I do believe, despite what anyone else might say about this or that causing graphic artifacts--dirty cartridge ports, bad carts, etc, the real problem with 99% of CVs is the dastardly old power switch. Every CV I've had that appeared to be completely dead or have game artifacts was immediately brought back to life with a power switch mod or refurb.

    THANKS. This thing is awesome!

  2. I just put on eBay an Odyssey 2 with The Voice and 4 Games. My eBay link is:

    http://tinyurl.com/339n27u

Selling for only $39.95 + shipping. See my eBay ad for the specifics. I also have a link to a video I made today of the system running. May take a little while for the link to work as You Tube is processing it but should be viewable soon.

    Video link:

Email me if you have any questions. If you are not on eBay, I can sell outside of eBay also if needed.

Helluva price. I heart the Odyssey2. I'm sure this will sell fast.

  3. Curious, how do you switch games? I see the buttons, but do you have to turn the Atari off, or does it have programming code to reset it?

Nothing so fancy. I don't recall what year this was made but it is vintage VCS era so that logic would have been expensive. It just allows you to keep your favorite games in. Press the switch of the game you want and reset the VCS. Quite the novelty.

Here's one that doubledown modded some time ago: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/61804-modded-video-game-brain-atari-2600-game-changer/

  4. Hi everyone,

I tried to do a personal payment in Paypal (aka gifted) and the tab was disabled, I contact the help desk and they say is disabled to "improve" customer experience. I talked with a friend and he has the same problem.

Could any check their accounts and see if is disabled too? could be a measure only for my country or is worldwide?

I the that the poor people of Ebay Inc. is not making enough money, they need our colaboration!;)

My U.S. PayPal account is fine. Received a payment via gift last night. Tab is not disabled.

  7. I bought this awhile back and I have enough CX-40s for my Atari 2600 so I wanted to offer this up:

    2.jpg

It has been tested, but I don't use it as a primary.

The box is not great but the joystick is in great shape -- no wearing on the orange paint -- excellent tight movement on the stick.

    Original. Not a microswitch remake.

    $15 shipped.

  8.

    I have a feature request.

I'd like a .pc file with the AtariMax Ultimate SD boot screen in the root of the /Coleco directory. That way at our Fall Retro Gaming Party when I have this thing out, I can have the ATARIMAX Screen displayed as an "Attract Screen."

Heck, it would be really cool if there was an actual attract screen when you were at the main menu--like a screen saver. Is that even possible?

Anyway, don't know if that would be very easy so I'd settle for a .pc file if you wanted to provide it.

I agree an attract mod would be nice, something similar to the classic arcade machines.

Retroillucid was going to make me a rom at some point with some graphics I provided him... Think he got sidetracked. Of course, I've been awfully busy too so I'm not too worried about it... and I owe him an update on some graphics I was working on. :D

If a ROM were made, it could be something as simple as an Atarimax logo in rotation with a fake high score board with some of the programmers initials or something. Hitting a button could exit the attract mode and dump you into the directory listing.

  9. When did you notice it was down?

Right when I posted that message. Looks like it's up now. :-) Hi there, Mike!

**Edit, sorry I should have took a screen shot. I closed my browser and relaunched, refreshed, etc... and I still got an "oops. unable to load gamegavel.com" response from chrome.

  10. can you or do you have plans to offer higher quality video mods? i would prefer an s-video or a component mod over a composite mod.

As someone who invested in a couple of component mod kits, I can say that it's pretty cool to have them. However, I'll be the first to point out that the composite mods are just as "quality." There are a few reasons why I might choose composite over component in my next round of mods:

    1. The component mod doesn't change the output resolution of the ColecoVision so you're still limited to 240 lines of resolution.

    2. Less cables. Less hassle.

    3. Composite is more versatile: Almost every set today modern or old has composite (or can be adapted easily.)

    4. I've heard *some* televisions are not able to display the lower resolution signal provided over component. I personally don't have this issue on any of my TVs: Samsung, Toshiba x2, Dell

Just some things to think about. :)

That said, I still think my component CV machine is right swell. myico1.png I also know that Yurkie has done component mods in the past using 5-11's kits (which are super awesome) so if you want to spend the moola, he'll probably do it! Heck, I'd do it if you bought the kit and sent me your CV... but I've seen Yurkie's work first hand so I know he'd be the best and the fastest for such a mod.

  11. I don't have a CC2, an emulator, or a way of hooking up paddles with an emulator so I'll have to wait for the awesomeness. Can't wait until there is an H2 out or a cartridge version of this!

If you're on Windows then the ProSystem emulator is easy to use.

But if I wanted to use the paddles I'd need a stella adapter then right?
