  1. I have several controllers from Yurkie and I absolutely love them. I went to Axman today looking for a key switch and didn't find any. I did however find a bunch of red momentary switches that are about the size of those found on an Atari CX-40. I had bought one for a different project I was working on--but I decided to buy a few of these to see if I could successfully add a second primary fire button to a Yurkie modified controller. When playing Atarisoft games like Defender, it's nice to have the top button for more control, but I prefer to have the Coleco controller fully functional because I lean toward using the side buttons most of the time anyway. The result is this:
  2. I just got a sealed one in the mail! Oh yeah... well... well... NONE of my DKs have boxes. So there! Plbbbt.
  3. Krazy Kong is awesome! Wasn't there a knock off or hack called Crazy Kong?
  4. Yeah, i think if i just cross-wire it--it should work in reverse. The key is designed wrong as I explain above, but if it works in reverse...as I believe it should... I'll be set. Thx for all the compliments! No dice on the switch. I wasn't thinking straight. The switch leg is still the same when you switch the + and - on this switch. So it still only turns on when opening the circuit counterclockwise. *le sigh*

  6. Another excellent deal. Awesome packing job, minty fresh item. Thx for the love, bro.
  7. From the sounds of it, we should also hear Handel's chorus of "Halleluja" when the XM box is opened...
  8. OK, everyone... Madaracs' presents the World's Most Boring Videos... FEATURING... Wait for it.... THE EXPANSION MODULE #2 KEY SWITCH MODIFICATION! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCa5K7JzzZA The key switch turned out to really be a toy switch... it is VERY small. So it was easy to add it to the EM2. Plenty of room and a nice fit. I -=am=- disappointed that it doesn't turn clockwise but I may reverse the wires to make it work the way I want it to. There are tiny little red/green dots on it indicating which way it should be turned for the on position which is how/why I wired it up that way. I'd say this mod is complete. :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCa5K7JzzZA
  9. Love it. My thrift stores never have this stuff! Took me a while to figure out which post you were talking about until I looked at the date and realized it was from the first page. Wow, we're 373 pages into this thread that started in December 2002. Very cool I didn't even notice that. Heh.
  10. Madaracs

    BASIC for XM?

Could this be used to eventually incorporate maybe an ADL Engine of some type for text adventures?
  11. Would anyone who worked on the 7800 XM know how to get it working?
  12. I believe it is uniform even on gen 1 and the jvc x'eye. I've used the EA four-tap on the model1, model2 and jvc X'Eye. It's a static adapter much like the one pictured above.
  13. I'll second that and add I've bought 20 or so carts from him. All were in awesome shape and the prices (as mentioned) were great.
  14. Well, I have all six movies in collectors edition allready. I'm a huge ST fan. The issue with these DVDs isn't that they are not in good shape or anything--but the Collector's Editions have all been out for so long they are not very expensive to pick up in a set. The Collector's sets were all remastered with Anamorphic transfers. Many of the original discs, while widescreen were not as good a transfer... and some may not have been anamorphic... I don't recall at the moment. The NEW ST DVD movie set is only $48 with free shipping on Amazon right now. The Blu-Rays were also very inexpensive (I think Paramount finally figured out their fans are tired of re-buying the films.) Just a frame of reference post... not trying to kill the sale.
  15. 7800 Homebrews. Well packed and well cared for. Thanks, Bruce! You rule.
  16. Check out the 7800 hacks forum. Perry If the Pac-Man and Donkey Kong POKEY versions get made into carts, I'm gonna get them for sure. Though wouldn't it be possible to make an almost exact port of the Arcade versions given the new Yamaha synth chip and the extra RAM? I was under the impression that OpCode/Eduardo, the colecovision homebrewer, was already working on a full-boat DK 7800 rewrite for the 7800XM with all 4 levels, arcade exact graphics, and sound. Kind of a bummer if that's not the case. I thought his was for the ColecoVision and the Super Game Module... http://opcodegames.com/?cat=5

  18. No man! You can still get it! Go here: http://www.opcodegames.com/games.php It's the awesome. Yeah! Thanx for the link Sure. I just picked up Road Fighter too.
  19. The file currently available for download won't work with a CC2. You'd need a bin file for that. This is emulator only. Oh how I wish the H2 were here! :-)
  20. They have gotten more strict. I have started using UPS and FedEx more often. They're often cheaper on large ticket items anyway. USPS also gets mad when I chop the Priority Mail logo off of a Priority Mailing label to use it to fill out an address. Rightly so, but they refused to ship my package even though it didn't say "Priority Mail" anywhere on the package. Their international priority mail prices are insane. The thing that drives me absolutely nuts though is that even with all of the mail being shipped today they can't seem to afford to keep the post office fully staffed (lines out the door half the time) or for that matter find a full crew of good people to work--at least at my post office. Our mail man is great. But the people at the post office near me are complete idiots.
