I just won this on eBay! I think I may have paid a little too much but it seemed fair for the model with detachable joysticks... and it looks to be in great shape.
Is there an Odyssey2 thread here for us Odd Odyssey fans?

I'd get this but I just don't need another Atari console.
It's cool tho!

The auction was in June. I'm guessing it's over by this point.
Oops. My bad.

I have opened a few colecovisions now and only one has had this wire running from the front of the board to the rf box. What is this for? I was having trouble with my newest colecovision and when I clipped this wire the system started working properly. Here is a pic of what I am talking about. I borrowed it from someone's guide for disassembly.
That cable grounds the rf box to the motherboard. If you cut it and it works, I say you got lucky and bumped something making a connection. Eliminating a ground is not a good idea, nor should it ever be a repair technique. All the grounds on the motherboard make contact with the metal shielding and prevent interference.
I usually agree. I just found it weird that the other two colecovisions I have opened didn't have that ground. I think I will just make a new and different ground. That one just looks like an after thought anyway.
Later revisions removed it and relied on the solder connection between the top plate and the mainboard.

I sold 2 brand new TG-16 a few years ago on my store for $200/ea. So, I think $150+ should be a good price to get on eBay.
Thanks for all the offers i got so far. I decided to go the ebay route I took AX's advice and started it at $99 dollars with NR.
Here is the item id if any one is interested: 190410612869.
Thanks again, Joeyray

Too bad she didn't have a stack of sealed magical chases... That would be amazing...
Can you just post a link to the auction?

I had a difficult time finding one at all, let alone working or boxed. It took several months to find one that was cosmetically acceptable and functional. It was loose with 3 boxed games for $50.

Hi all!
I'm proud to announce that we're going to make a run of our games in CBS format!

Not only those but all of our future games will be availalbe in CBS format too!
I always loved the artwork on the CBS boxes, and I always wanted to presented our game in both format (NTSC & PAL) ... but that would not be possible until now, since I found a GREAT printing company that understand my needs
These will be available in December, if you want to be on the list let me know, only 25 of each will be available
Also, those who pre-order the whole set will get a discount
Post your interest here not by PM or email
Oh!...
Thanks to Crapahute for his help! He's a truly nice guy!

Beautiful.

What about one of those "push to start" buttons the ricer kids use on their racecar Hondas?
That's a good idea too. I have a second turbo module. I might do something similar with that one too. Maybe I'll put a toggle start switch on that one.

Awesome stuff, Madaracs! For the power splitter, I like these: http://www.usa.philips.com/c/power-solutions/2-outlets-sps1020a_17/prd/
They carry them for liek $3 at my local Wal Mart... Just another option!

Thanks. And those are sweet. I like the pass through tap. That could help me keep things a little better organized.

A boxed voice for $30? Keep dreaming.
It could happen.

But who needs the box? I use that thing all the time! KILLER BEES! and Smithereens! are the best.

Atari 5200 Lot: $200 Shipped.
My Flickr set shows the beauty and all of the goodies below. There are also two additional controllers that I'll be throwing in that are non-functional. I'll also be putting up a smaller game lot of duplicates as well.
5200 with all original hookups and power supply. (Power Supply not pictured I had it out of the box for some reason.)
Many CIB games with very low miles--The popeye scratch off card is still intact!
Two rebuilt 5200 Controllers (Best) and three (one disassembled) for parts or rebuilding.
Partially working trackball (not pictured) included.
I recently fired it up for the first time in a year, tested everything and it works perfectly.

U.S. Only. Canada or elsewhere, I'll need to calculate shipping and work with you on the difference.

It's a fine work. Talented programmer, by this and 7800 Space Invaders, which I just recently picked up.
The only thing I think could use some improvement is the dot eating sound. But I guess that's notoriously hard to "get right." At least it's not as bad as some of the 2600 attempts - I'm thinking of Pac-Man Arcade, which is probably the best version of that game for that system, based on Ms Pac, but the dot eating sound is borderline obnoxious and grating unless you keep the volume down. IMO.
I also highly recommend the Super Pac-Man cartridge.
Got it on the 5200, but I'm just not a big Super Pac fan.
It is so fun! Though I don't really get why there is a speed button. He should just speed up when you get the super pellet.
I always amaze my friends when I play it because I consistently score in the 120K range... but anyone that plays it regularly can score in that range. The trick is that if you get a Super Power pellet you can stay "super" by gobbling up the regular power pellets... If you do it in the right order you can clear the board as Super Pac.

Thanks retroillucid
Yurkie, your right it wouldn't hold them all. I can find no marking on who made it, I happened to find it at a goodwill a few years ago for a couple of dollars.
JEALOUS!

My mom is 61. That's just mean, man. That's just mean.
Not to degrade my own thread any lower than it already is, but ...
Old folks need lovin', too. Albeit, a bit more carefully.

No, you are 0 for 2. The correct answer is "friend, Madaracs' mom".

Don't want to get too much off topic here, but another very good video game book that covers the Atari period, besides Kent's "Ultimate History of Video Games" is Herman's "Phoenix". It's more of a 'Just the facts' book and not as entertaining to read, but plenty of good info as well.
(Whoop! 1000 posts! Go me!
)Know where one can pick up "Phoenix?"

Buy every homebrew and hack that Pac-Man Plus has ever done. They're all fantastic

*nod*

Yep. Do what Yurkie says.

Yep. I'munna do what Yurkie says.
Just as soon as I get off my ___ and do it.Ooh! I love this game! The missing word is... "rocking chair"?

I'll play too! The missing word is... "Surfboard?"

Right now my carts are in shoe-boxes and storage bins. Does anyone have a suggestion of a way to neatly display your ColecoVision cartridges? Wall storage is preferred but I'm open to other options.
I wish I had the woodworking tools, I would love to make a wall hanging cartridge holder with a glass door.
Me too.
That'd be cool. -
Did you get the key cylinder installed Madaracs?
They haven't arrived yet. They're coming from China. I haven't figured out a good spot for it yet either. There isn't much space left on the dash... it may have to sit under the steering wheel out of sight. Or I may mount it on the side. Unfortunately with the pedal cavity I'm limited to where the switch can go. I don't want to mount it on the left as a matter of principle... but we'll see...

Loosen the case screw on the bottom that is almost directly under the switch.
Yep. Do what Yurkie says.

Teaser
in Atari 5200
For that dead controller, I wonder if it has enough parts to get my dead controller Frankenstein'd together.
What is wrong with your controller?
If it's the thin-film circuitry probably not. This one has a pretty bad burn spot in the middle where it appears to have shorted out. And I've not tried cleaning it with anything to see if it can be revived. Otherwise everything is there.
My controller is missing the rubber 3 top buttons + the CV joint boot for the joystick. That, and it dun work at all. Yep, it's a 5200 controller.
Well if you want the disassembled controller I'll ship it to you for $10.
