By all means please go for it. I've spent too much money this week!

Well, your program is taking advantage of existing HM values to move the opponent cars after they've been initialized. That's why HMCLR stops their horizontal movement. You ought to keep track of their horizontal position so that they can be reinitialized on every frame instead of relying on old data. Without having the means to reset HM, you are out of luck using them for independant sprites for scores (and would have to resort to using PF registers for scoring, like so many older games did).
In addition, cars are being drawn too late into the scanline, so there is some sprite shearing for objects in the center of the screen. You can correct that by either writing earlier so the effect is hidden, or by using sprite delay registers (VDELPx).
Also, steering the car was impossible in Z26. This could be due to having read the port more than once (which is not advisable). You could just load the value and check it in A. Results in shorter code too:
lda SWCHA bmi noright ;branch if bit7 set ldx #$F0 noright asl ;move bits to the left, bit6->bit7 bmi noleft ;branch if bit7 set ldx #$10 noleft
Port is read once...and pushing bits to the left easily checks for left movement (bit7=negative/positive).
Thanks for the advice.
I might just use the playfield for the score digits (again, the original arcade game only had 4 digits, so I won't be losing anything there).
Well, this is exciting. I own a real Monaco GP! As soon as I get my Harmony I should be able to check this out no?

All remaining orders has been shipped!

If you're interested to get a copy, contact me
It's great! Super fun to play on the CV.

Don't suppose you have a spare one with the upgraded sound?

I checked with Ken and it should recognize the Pokey in the Expansion Module.
Reeeeeeaaaaallly. Hmmm. So I should git the VE edition?

What is the best process for dumping ROMs from cartridge?
Is there an easy way to do this? I have a couple of games that I would like to include on my AtariMax cart and I would like backup copies for personal use only.
If you have an ADAM oomputer and ADAM FDD, you can use CopyCart+ D2.0 to copy all carts up to 32K in size. Then you have to transfer the cart rom file to the PC or Mac to place on the SD Cart.
If you don't have an ADAM, then you would need to purchase a Rom Dumper and I have no clue which one is the best to go with. Sure someone on here has some experience with these and the best one to purchase.
Thanks for the tips. I really want to get an "Expansion Module 3" someday. But they're fairly difficult to find.
There's is an Exp. Mod. #3 on eBay right now that's been up for bid for a couple days with no takers. The seller has split everything up into different auctions (think 7 in all), but together they make a complete ADAM if you have the ColecoVision.
If you really want an ADAM, I would go after one of the Stan-Alone ADAMs (that have the ColecoVision built-in as well as Composite Video output) as the footprint is a lot smaller. There are a couple of these on eBay right now listed at $125, $50.00 with 2 bids on it and I forget the last one's price.
Yeah, I saw the $125 one and it looks nice except that it's missing the cord for the keyboard. Thanks for the help though! I'll keep looking on the eBay.

You should check the upper most address lines on the cartridge slot for continuity to the CPU:
CPU Pin: Signal: Cart slot pin
---------------------------
2: A12: 24
3: A13: 19
4: A14: 20
And the enable lines from U5 to the Cartridge slot for continuity
U5 pin: Signal: cart slot pin
-------------------------
11: EN_80: 18
10: EN_A0: 22
9: EN_C0: 2
7: EN_E0: 27
If those lines are corroded through then the larger carts will not work.
Hey, I know this is late but thanks for the post. I still have the board so maybe I'll plug it in and check them out.

Attack from Mars - Bally or Pinbot.

I have two working handhelds - one is the Coleco Head to Head baseball, comes with its instructions and a little catalog. I also have a Super Space Invaders 2 by Entex. Both are in great working order.
I don't know what these might be worth but shoot me an offer and we can go from there

Those are bee-OO-tee-ful. There is a Super Space Invaders listed for $99 on eBay but nothing in the completed listings section.
I once sold a Tomytronic game that I bought for $5 for $50+ on eBay. That one (Super Space Invaders) has to be [relatively] rare...

I'm a menace!
Thank you for the link. I'm very happy now. This thread can be deleted by a moderator if they so choose.

During that era of consoles, the consoles bled money for a quite a while until they reached a certain critical mass. On top of that, games started to become blockbusters in terms of size and budget.
This is still echoed today. The Xbox 360 was not profitable when it was released. One could argue that it still might not be with amount of warranty repair work performed on a large percentage of units even today. They make their money on Xbox live and game sales.
Why single out the 360? The PS3 is similar. In fact just about every console between "that era" and the current gen are similar with the exception of Nintendo consoles. Nintendo prices them to make profit from the get go.
I don't dispute that nor did I mean to single out a single console. I agree! The 360 is the most popular console behind the Wii and had the largest margin of loss upon launch so I used it as an example. It just was an example.
You must chill. I have hidden your keys.To add to your comment, Nintendo doesn't just price them right... they also designed the unit to make money off the bat. No DVD support means less work on the drive, no HD means they can stick with cheaper standard architecture for video, it also has a much smaller footprint. And with the Broadway CPU allegedly derived from the same architecture as the 'Cubes Gekko chip--the cost of the new CPU was probably less to create than both the PS3 and the 360. Nintendo was also smart to focus on game play and the family/everyone/casual gaming demographic.

I'd like a Harmony cart. Missed the last one that when up for $65. I'd pay that if someone wanted to unload a spare or if you just don't use it anymore. Also have a lot of stuff to trade. Tell me what you're looking for...

It's been done: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/155794-happy-new-year/
Hot damn! Thanks!
Did you ever make carts? I'd LOVE one.
I should have known it was already done. And your work is superb btw.

It is a pretty cool game. I just bought the boxed game, now I just need a manual for it.
Nice. Any chance you could post a photo? I've never seen the box.
I haven't received it yet, it is an Ebay purchase. Here are the 3 pics put together into 1 pic. I just hope it arrives safety, looks to be in pretty good condition.
It's beautimous.

Actually I have seen them come up non stop on ebay for the last month or so. It is like there is a run of people selling their Adam Computers.
There might still be some available but I don't really follow Adam computer so don't know if they were bid or buy now.
Well if you see one let me know. I don't want the full Adam. I want the one that plugs into the ColecoVision. (Which I know is really not much different but I still want it.)

Here is a direct link to the Squish em Sam but it also has almost all the other games as well. He doesn't put Telegames on there though so I guess you would have to find those pictures elsewhere.
By the way if you click on the pictures then they bring up better pictures and also for the manual it brings up the pdf for it.
Very cool. Awesome artwork on the box.

After reading issue 81 of RG, I thought to myself... I wonder why no one has made an attempt at hacking Ms. Pac-Man or creating their own version of Crazy Otto?
Wouldn't that be a cool homebrew to do? They even posted screenshots of the original game in the Retro Gamer issue. The sprites could be lifted right out of the magazine!
(Cross posted to 7800 -- the only other place I know of that has a Pac-Man Collection!)

I like it when you reach the top of the building and it says "Fun!, Fun!, Fun!". That voice is hilarious.
I thought it was "money, money, money" when Sam got to the top, could it be both?, I'll have to play again tonight and see.
I thought he said "Money! Money! Money!" too. But then again the sample isn't that clear. He could be saying, "Honey Honey Honey" for all I know...

List is up to date.
I have a question. What is this?:
3D Glasses Adapter Sega MASTER System
Is this for a model II or something?

Teaser
in Atari 5200
I'm going to sell my 5200.
Although I'd love to hang on to it and I've put a lot of love into it, I need to scale back my collection and the great Monolith must go.
I am thinking of offering it the Marketplace--but if I can't get what I have into it, I won't sell it here.
My Flickr set shows the beauty and all of the goodies below. There are also two additional controllers that I'll be throwing in that are non-functional. I'll also be putting up a smaller game lot of duplicates as well.
5200 with low miles with all original hookups and power supply. (Power Supply not pictured I had it out of the box for some reason.)
Many CIB games with very low miles--The popeye scratch off card is still intact!
Two rebuilt 5200 Controllers and three (one disassembled) for parts or rebuilding.
I just fired it up for the first time in a year, tested everything and it works perfectly.
Before I offer it here... Anyone know what I should expect to get for this collection? I could potentially split it up too...

I bought Pooyan too.
Surprisingly fun and difficult. I like the Famicom version but the CV one is totally awesome.
And a Harmony Cart. $65
Two huge lots of ColecoVision carts totalling more than $100...
Argh. One of us should do it. *off to eBay again to look*
