  1. Let me just add, it's absolutely worth it. I'd also go for Jr. Pac-man, and Super, while you're at it. Fantastic, and very well done.

I'll second that. If you're getting an XM, you might consider waiting to see if a Pokey edition of the Pac-Man Collection comes out for the XM. That said, all three pac titles are excellent. Some of the best programming done for those games on a home console.

  2. Awesome!

I'm glad you've got one coming your way.

If you need anything else, let the forum know, and I'm sure people will dive in to support.

OK, my source for the drive has turned out to be somewhat unreliable. He thought I was looking for an Atari drive. It turns out he doesn't have what we were looking for. But now I'm on a mission to correct the problem.

I felt I should own up since, I had a line on the drive and failed to hook it up.

So stay tuned. I still intend on finding one.

  3.

Not to contradict, but you mayn't want to use electronic contact cleaner on the CV switch. Because as Egon would say, "It would be bad." And although life as you know it would continue on and every molecule in your body might remain stable, the switch in the CV has conductive grease in it that it is necessary for normal operation.

If you use contact cleaner on it, the grease will likely be eaten away and the switch might operate OK for awhile (or not at all if you tighten your CV screws too much upon reassembly.) The switch really should be reconditioned as Yurkie mentions.

Also, you should never use contact cleaner to clean cassette decks. I'm not sayin'... but I'm just sayin'.

Sorry to have to correct you but the grease is NOT conductive. Dielectric grease simply provides lubricity and protects against corrosion.

I don't mind. :) I read somewhere a long time ago that it was conductive. (on the reliable internets) Better to be corrected then go on believing something that isn't true.

  4. If its a dirty power switch, then most likely a can of electronic contact cleaner from Radio Shack should do the trick. I had an Intellivision console that only displayed a black screen on start up. I sprayed the power switch with this cleaner and switched it back and forth a few times, and it fixed the problem.

  5. That actually sounds quite good if its all in good condition. I sold a boxed one on eBay fairly recently with 3 games and it ended up going for £75.

I agree. I did the conversion to U.S. and I'd say $68 is a great deal for an original in the box--barring any problem with the condition of the unit--especially with a 32-in-1 cart. :)

  6. I really think another color shell batch is waiting to happen. We should start a new thread for that. I'd be game for another 50 - 100 wacky colors myself. Would love to see this release in a special shell.

    AX

Actually, I'd like to see it replicate the Coleco cart shell and label style as closely as possible like the box already will. This is just my personal preference to make it look as Coleco-ish as possible since this was one of their abandonware games and all.

I think a color cart would be great too but I tend to agree with Niad here. The original Coleco abandonware aspect dictates an "official" release package.

  7. No one appreciates the value of a U.S. made product today. The price of the XM is spot on. It's almost too inexpensive if you ask me. Anyone who complains about the price doesn't deserve one. End of story. Now back to the main topic. :). TWO WEEKS left and it's ready! Woot!

  8. Some variations to try and incorporate exclusivity:

*edit* Every time I see the Legacy logo, I think it's dip-switches on the cart.

*edit* *edit* And after all of that I still like the Pac-Man Collection cart in this thread the best. :)

don't really like the term "required" though seems a little forceful and uninviting for a game.

maybe "for the XM 7800" or something

I think you're right about "required." I was mulling that over as I was putting it together too.

What about something like... Exclusively for 7800 XM?

  10. Brainstorming...

I like these, but for some reason I feel as if it should be on something for the Intellivision. I just get that vibe from it. icon_confused.gif

Yeah, hmm. I can see the font lending to that a bit...

  11.

You read my mind....I love the logo, but too much white space at the top, which would be eliminated if it was more square and less rectangular.

Also, may I humbly suggest 'XM Required' or 'XM Enhanced'. Compatible in my mind simply means that the game will simply play in an XM, which I think every game will, even if it doesn't take advantage of anything....am I correct? Or do you have to unplug your XM for any game not requiring (or Enhanced by) the XM Unit? Picky, I know icon_shades.gif

Thanks for the constructive criticism. :) It's back to the drawing board.

Even if mine isn't picked I'm having some fun with it. It's good to have choices anyway...

  12. I think I prefer Lendorien's logo, as this one reads like MX.

    Aw, C'mon! :D

I think I prefer his too. For some reason I just liked the way this fell into place. It reminds me of the Mattel branding for their "M Network" games a little bit.

What? No comment on the most awesomest game to ever not be released on for the 7800? ;)

  13. Good Luck with that. I think Opcode pulled a Cartman a few months back regarding this site and any work.

Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Yeah, he did... but I think he may consider dipping his foot in the pool in the future. He just needed a rest. AA can do that to you. Sometimes you have to just go out and binge drink, am I right? Am I RIGHT? Oh. Wrong AA. Sorry. myico-doh.png

  14. I don't know....it was started in July of last year. That's really pretty new, in my opinion at least.

That's what I was thinking -- in comparison to some other projects on this site, it's a pretty short timeline.

    Fair enough.

  15. Is it weird that I'm kinda bummed that it now seems the ROM may not be released in favor of a full cart publishing?? :(

I side with Murph on this. Russ is a highly skilled programmer that has created iphone and ipad software (check out his other youtube videos), and stated in his video he was going to post the rom. Holding back the rom in favor of publishing is a real bummer.

The collector in me cannot possibly agree with that. ;) New CV games don't come along every day, so any new cartridge game is always a welcomed addition to the CV's library.

    Agreed.

*edit* Man, that game looks like a lot of fun!

  16. Because this thread is stupid old and as we gain more fans everyone wants one of these things... and as far as I can tell there hasn't been time for anyone to work on the project so it seems like it will never happen. Not saying it won't... just that it seems that way.
