Yep it's loser compatable :-) I will program AI to kick your ass. I figure it will fit on a 16k cartridge. The mini games will be mini :-) I have all of the different squares already working, download the demo and see! I am working on the 404 crap right now :-) the transfer from a Windose server to a Unix server is not always seamless....

Here ya go all http://www.atariage.com/~clarkin/

That reminds me - have I told you how much I like your avatar? It reminds me of classic Calvin and Hobbes. I nabbed it from some web site out there :-) I thought it was the funniest pic I could find :-)

Albert and I are discussing at least mirroring the site here to AA, so that won't happen again. Like I knew so many people wanted to see it :-) 16 megs a day transfer is a lot for this type of site :-) It's not like I have any porn on it.... oh wait.... Better take that off

Bah!!! Stupid Brinkster :-) If I didn't pay nothing for it I would be pissed! :-) As for Flash Cart info... I have plenty here :-) http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17725 http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17521 http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16058 As for Quest... that's a big beast :-) I have VERY big plans for that game, even more than I have written on the web site. It's big highlight is 4 player simultanious action with the Multi-Tap we talked about a few months ago. I'll brief it up here... It's basically a slow paced board game, with everyone competing to get the "Ring of Power", everyone get's one turn per round, and can move two squares per turn. Diagonal movements are allowed on squares that are not missing "corners". The original board game had a "3D" board that restricted movement in a similar way. Certain squares have certain properties. Sqaures with the dashed lines image, allow you to place an obsticle on any legal square on the board, in an attempt to slow down the current ring bearer, or force him into a hairy situation with a dragon. Because three opponents get a turn before you do, there is a chance you could have three new obsicles to deal with every turn... Squares with a Cross image, allow you to move any already placed obsticle on the board to another legal location. Squares with a "Dragon" image (I wil fix how it looks at some point) will launch a random mini game involving some or all of your opponents in control of the dragon, and other objects. Some minigames are weighted towards the player, making it simple to beat the dragon... others are close to impossible to survive. But the rewards are great! Defeat a dragon and not only get an extra turn, but your knight is no longer stopped by obsticles or dragons for that extra turn. Lose the fight however, and bestow the cloak of the forgotten ones, causing you to lose a turn... which will most likely cause you to lose the ring. The other marked square is the City. Each colored board has it's own city. Bring the ring of power to 3 of the 4 cities and you are the winner! But Dragon's are not the only thing hunting you, the other players are out for your blood. And when they catch you another random mini-game will launch. None of these mini-games are weighted in your favor. The attacker is always on the advantage, so hone your skills if you ever hope to survive. The winner loses a talismen from his knight (Each knight starts with 3), the winner also places the losing knight in any one of the center squares. If the loser had the Ring of Power, the winner now has it. And all of your previous allies are now your enemies, so don't keep your friends too close, or you won't weild the ring for long :-)

Don't EVEN make me throw in that DVD! :-)

Has anybody seen these before? (warning 35k of photos)

I saw that Joystick at a thrift around here... but I passed it up... I hope it's not worth anything :-) -
I admit this is very disturbing news... and I pray that everything will work out... but I don't think we can start to second guess everyone else in the buisness too... It stinks that this is happening with a few people... but I don't think we can associate AtariAge or anyone else for that matter as the next person or place going AWOL. This is a tight little economy we live in, and ripples like this are killing it. AA has a fantastic and fast track record so far... so I'll leave it at that for now :-)

Had an idea for Jaaks, but they turned me down :(
Cupcakus replied to PacManPlus's topic in Atari 2600
Because they can reuse defective shells and PCB's easy... why sell them off. If the whole thing is defective because of a bad chip or wire, no reason to junk the whole thing... -
Who remembers the run pad for NES??? :-) Man that was a bad idea... Or the Glove that you could drive with... and "supposedly" play Punch Out with... :-) If the 2600 only had those, decathalon would be a brease!!
-
When the NES came around, trading was just about the whole reason to have an NES... So all of my NES carts have my name, or a friends name on them... So we'd never "forget" who's carts they were :-) Unfortunetly I was young when Atari was king, so I only traded with my best bud, so no names were required... We both knew which ones were ours. But that is probably exactly why you find these carts in the wild.

God damnit stop bringing these old threads back up!!!! you're all driving me nuts!!!

Moon Patrol! Damn that game is hard....

I think it's safe to say that the pre-pay element that existed in this hobby is no longer available for sellers. Which is dissapointing... But I know that I most certainly will purchase nothing anymore unless the item I am buying is already done and ready to be shipped.

Our resident audio genious Paul Slocum has made some really awesome strides in 2600 audio.... It would be cool to see another musician/programmer on the block... think of the sounds!!!! I can just see a full symphany added to Strawberry Shortcake... can you see it?

Made some small updates... more Flash Cart pics coming tomorrow check it out!!

As a member of the Stella list, as long as you are not simply changing graphics, hacks and how-to-hack questions are more than welcome in my opinion. There is no way you are going to even come close to the quality of say... Beserk VE, or Missle Command TB, if you don't first learn how the 2600 works from the inside out. You maybe don't need to be an expert, but you will need to understand it fundimentally, to make any type of progress. Join the list, and ask questions, we are here to help. I should hope the other members agree with me... What's the point of even having a group to help people if we are going to seperate ourselves as elitests. :-) If you're elite, why do you need help? Welcome aboard, and thanks for your interest!!! I'm excited to see what works you bring to the community!

I have "Travel" Labyrinth :-) it's about 1ft square and it's black... and it uses those little tiny metal bearings you used to find in all of those types of "Travel" games back in the 80's. I could do that one :-) I never quite mastered the real wooden Labyrinth though... that still sits in my closet unbeaten for over 20 years.

To my knowlege there is no publically available ROM image for it yet... But if all goes to plan there will be soon :-) and it is scheduled to coincide with the release of my cart. We'll see

Uh, probably ... http://www.atariage.com/box_page.html?Soft...05&BoxStyleID=2 That explains it :-) ha ha ha ha :-) I thought he drew it... oh well... still cool though.

I'm telling you man... that Miniature golf one is right on the money... If Atari had made a picture label for that game, that would have been it! Genius work :-)
