  1. Those leaf switch joysticks are hard to find now, as most manufacturers have moved on to microswitches. The difference is you hear a very faint clicking noise now, when you used to hear nothing... So the connections might not look exactly like that picture anymore.
  2. Thats a pretty tight nitch :-) Reminds me of a job I interviewed for a software manufacturer that wrote software for Cabinet Door manufacturers... :-) Good luck! Post pics when you are complete!
  3. You can play any game with the footpedal controller, however some suggest Thrust is a good experience with it. I prefer original Thrust, with a standard controller, but you can play it with just about every 2600 controller made. As for connecting controllers to a box, that has been done with Marble Craze... Marble Craze requires precise movement of two paddle controllers, and some have suggested that "Velcro"ing the paddles or attatchign them to a box with rubber bands helps game play considerably... Perhaps this is what you mean.
  4. I still think it's cost prohibative. Buttons are cheap, but you have to build the controller out of something.... wood would probably be uncomfortable, but I could be wrong. It also has to be painted and acrylic applied to protect the wood from use. Plus you need to find and buy Genesis controllers to hack in the first place. Joysticks are not very expensive, but cost a little..... So :-) we're looking at a high priced 2600 controller. I admit with more buttons it would be compatible with a great deal of systems, so it may be worth it for those that have those other systems, but for those of us that only own 2600 stuff, it won't be worth the investment :-) Just my opinion! I think you should make one... see how it feels, how much it costs and let us know!

What is this? Bring old ass threads back from the dead week? You guys are hilarious.
  6. It's all explained in his post. He has no job, and this was how he was living... so he spent all of your money on his own expenses... now he has no money to buy the items necessary to fill all his orders so he ran and hid. It's a bummer.
  7. That's been done :-) I just can't think of the URL off hand.
  8. Cool Avatar Kepone :-) That was about the only guy I could KO in punch out
  9. I actually built some of these with a genesis hack... I didn't like the "Feel" of it... I used Happ 8-way super joysticks, and it just didn't work for the fast "reflex" games. Build one yourself and check it out! It's most certainly not a dumb idea :-) Genesis controllers are also not very cheap... or at least not cheap enough. They will make the final cost of said controller a little prohibative I think for the average person. I could be wrong though... Let us know what you find out!!
  10. Oh well :-) it was a shot in the dark. OK I'll develop the RAM functions...
  11. And you are absolutely correct... It was my mistake thanks for pointing it out.... As it turns out however :-) It seems at least at this point, I will need to get those games to work anyway.
  12. Yes thanks... I just grabbed all of the CommaVid games, because I can't support their RAM requirement.
  13. I am faced with a serious dilemma. As it turns out there are at least 6 other people making a similar cartridge to my own. Of course if I had known this at the time, I would have never started this project. :-) But now I'm in too deep. The design is almost complete for the most part.... However any cartridges that require RAM are not working yet, and it will most likely take me weeks to get RAM working. So here is my question. Would it be worth it to you, the people I am making this for, to recieve the product probably a month earlier, and about $8 cheaper if it couldn't support the following games: Cakewalk Cosmic Swarm Magicard Mines of Minos Room of Doom Stronghold Video Life Dig Dug Crystal Castles Millipede Stargate Defender 2 Choplifter Desert Falcon Dark Chambers Super Football Sprintmaster Fatal Run Off the wall Shooting Arcade Secret Quest Radar Lock Save Mary! Klax Burgertime Pitfall 2 Out of the entire 2600 collection of games, including homebrews... that is IT! It will still have all of it's great features it had before... If the consensus is that you would rather wait longer and pay a bit more to play the above games on the cartridge, (Except Pitfall 2 and Burgertime) then I will spend the time to make it work with those games. Thanks!
  14. I'm dying to see that commercial :-)

    Slackers!

Common! Get off your butts and get in to the AA store and write some product reviews for the hard working folks that made those games for you. :-) They'll appreciate it! This ends this public announcement, we now return you to your regulary scheduled program already in progress...
  16. I tried playing this game... but I kept getting turned on... Oh yeah baby... spread those sexy legs. Woo hoo!!
  17. MAN! Put the crack pipe on the ground, and step away slowly... :-) Lets make it our life's ambition to go through the AtariAge forum archives and reply to every unanswered question... no matter how old :-)... you up for it!
  18. If someone could just put that Howard Scott Warshaw commercial in .AVI format, we'd be all set!
  19. Cool segment... I wish it was longer... bastards...
  20. None are really 100% accurate, but I recommend (In this order) Z26 (Runs OK in windows, slow for me though in WinXP) Cyberstella (Good emulator, windows based on Stella) PCAE (Cool because it plays games windowed, colors are wrong though and the "online" play option does not work)
  21. You need to use an emulator to play the ROM images. http://www.atariage.com/2600/emulation/ind...l?SystemID=2600
  22. I ran an internet game years ago that I funded from banner ads. When the Banner Ad market dropped considerably my agent told me I had to put pop-up ads on my site, or they would not pay me anymore. I took the site down the next day. Pop-Up ads are the bane of my existance :-) You will never find one in my web site :-)
  23. To my knowledge they are the only one that does offer free web pages with no ads. There is a bandwith limitation of 500mb/month which is very very little... so no downloads. And the way you upload files into your server is 5 files at a time through a crappy web interaface... But you can't complain if it's free right? :-)
