If I was everyone... I would wait :-) Can't say why yet, but save your money and you will be happy with what the AtariAge store brings you :-)

What is the relationship between EPYX http://home.arcor.de/cybergoth/ And XYPE Same thing, or someone was less than creative?

Activision Collection for PS2 - 48 Games with extras
Cupcakus replied to scrummy's topic in Atari 2600
PS2 only folks :-( But I don't think 42 atari games is a reason to buy a PS2... :-) It's just a PS2 emulator folks. For PS2 owners great! For PC users, just use a normal emulator :-) -

This product is also why all of the Activision ROM's were pulled from AtariAge. -
Snobbery? His game is great! So we the XYPE guys asked (=invited) him, if he wants to join us. That's all! How does that sound snotnosed? Could just be me, but its sounds like if someone programs a game that does not meet the elite consortium of programmer's criteria, then that programmer is not worthy of being a part of the elusive XYPE club. But again, it could just be me.... Sorry. XYPE wants a reputation for high quality games. The label lets the community know that the game has been reviewed by some of the most talented programmers in the community, and it has met their high standards of excellence. For any homebrew author it is an honor to be asked to carry the name. It is IMHO anyway. I hope to talk with Thomas about this when the time comes for my game to be released.

He also said it would support ROM download of some sort.... -
Riiiiiiiiiiiight..... :-)

I think it's great how quickly the minds of this community can smell a hoax. It only took us about 8 or 9 posts to expose Flexured (Even though he still won't admit it), and you debunked this one in record time too. "Let the Scammer Beware" -- AtariAge members will get you!

The E.T. is super rare, put it on EBay pronto!!!!! :-)

If you can get into orbit OK, and remember to open the cargo bay doors so you don't overheat, All you have to do is set all axis to zero to dock. It takes practice :-) When the Z access starts floating, forget about it :-)

Internal Atari email about Crystal Castles & Millipede (
Cupcakus replied to Scott Stilphen's topic in Atari 2600
This is one of my favorites From: KIM::FRANUSIC 23-MAR-1984 15:02 To: @SYS$MAIL:JUNK Subj: THE FUTURE AT ATARI LATELY THERE'S BEEN SOME CONFUSION OVER THE "ORGANIZATIONAL ADJUSTMENTS" THAT WE'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING HERE AT ATARI. LET'S PUT IT ALL INTO PERSPECTIVE ... AT THE END OF 1983, ATARI ANNOUNCED LOSSES OF OVER 500 MILLION DOLLARS. THERE WAS SOME TALK THAT THESE LOSSES WERE ACTUALLY CARRIED ON THE BOOKS OVER SEVERAL PRECEDING QUARTERS, AND THAT MR. MORGAN WAS SIMPLY GIVEN A FRESH START. THE FACT REMAINS THAT ATARI HAS BEEN, AND STILL IS, LOSING AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY, ENOUGH TO MAKE ANY COCAINE IMPORTER'S HEAD SPIN. THE HOME COMPUTER MARKET HAS FALLEN FLAT ON IT'S FACE. PEOPLE FINALLY REALIZED THAT THEY DIDN'T NEED A HOME COMPUTER FOR ANYTHING EXCEPT PLAYING GAMES. MOST OF THE PERCIEVED NEED FOR A HOME COMPUTER COULD ONLY BE ATTRIBUTED TO MARKETING HYPE. THE GAME CARTRIDGE MARKET HASN'T BEEN DOING MUCH BETTER. WE ALL HEARD ABOUT THE BIG HOLE IN THE GROUND WHERE THEY BURIED THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF "DEFECTIVE" CARTRIDGES. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED WAS THAT OUR TOP MANAGEMENT "EXPERTS" OVERESTIMATED THE CARTRIDGE MARKET BY SEVERAL MILLION UNITS. MEANWHILE, SYNERTEK AND STEVIE-BOY ARE LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK $$$. AND THEN THERE'S THE COIN-OP MARKET. LET'S STOP KIDDING OURSELVES. SOME OF US WORK 10, MAYBE 12 HOURS A DAY ON GAMES WHERE THE BEST WE CAN REALISTICALLY HOPE FOR IS A TOTAL PRODUCTION OF 5000 UNITS. THAT WORKS OUT TO SOME VERY MEAGER BONUS-SPLITS, FRIENDS. FEW SIGNIFICANT CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION FACING ATARI: WARNER REPLACED MR. KASSAR WITH A CIGARETTE EXECUTIVE. UNFORTUNATELY FOR MR. MORGAN, HIGH-TECH ELECTRONICS IS A HIGHLY DYNAMIC AND VOLATILE BUSINESS TO BE IN: THE MORTALITY RATE FOR HIGH-TECH START-UPS IS VERY HIGH COMPARED TO OTHER INDUSTRIES. MR. MORGAN'S EXPERIENCE LIES IN THE VERY STABLE AND WELL-ENTRENCHED TOBBACO INDUSTRY: IT'S A REPLACEMENT MARKET WITH TEENAGERS REPLACING THE LUNG-CANCERED OLDSTERS. CIGGIES AND GAMES ARE SORT OF THE SAME... LITTLE SQUARE BOXES THAT TEENIES GET HOOKED ON. WHAT THIS ALL BOILS DOWN TO FROM AN "ENGINEERING" POINT-OF-VIEW IS THAT IT'S PROBABLY TIME TO GET ON THE VAX AND UPDATE THE RESUME. AND CONSIDERING THAT THE REST OF THE INDUSTRY IS NOW IN THE 16-BIT AND 32-BIT WORLD, IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO ENROLL IN A FEW GRADUATE COURSES. ( HOWARD SAMS JUST DOESN'T CUT IT ANYMORE ). FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE RECIEVING BONUS-SLPITS, IT MAKES SENSE TO GET LAYED OFF RATHER THAN QUIT, BECAUSE IF YOU GET LAYED OFF, YOU ARE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO ALL BONUS MONEY THAT YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN HAD YOUR EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED AT ATARI. ... HOWEVER, THINGS MAY GET SO BAD HERE IN THE NEAR FUTURE THAT IT WILL BE BETTER JUST TO QUIT ... Not only does he rap on the E.T. cart burial, but he pokes fun at the Teenies.. :-) Hilarious. -
I think AtariAge would gladly make a cart of this for you. Send them an E-Mail. And you can of course wait a few weeks for the release of my Flash Cart and play any ROM you want on a real cart.

Bob Colbert was talking about doing this a while ago, I wonder where he got on it.

PocketVCS ran really slow on my Casio EM500, but when I put it on my Jornada 567..... perfect. I went on vacation a few weeks ago and played Adventure and Raiders of the Lost Ark every chance I could :-)

I play VCS games on my PocketPC device, however there is none for Palm at this time.

My PS already doesn't work anymore :-)

Internal Atari email about Crystal Castles & Millipede (

VAX was a type of mainframe in the olden days of buisness machines. It had internal "E-Mail" capabilities, as well as Word Prossessing, file sharing and corporate aplications. It ran on a form of UNIX. I think it was manufactured by DEC (Now known as Compaq) I remember having a small DEC VAX back in the day at home. Picked it up cheap from the university of Georgia because they said it didn't work anymore. Turns out it just needed a new cable from the box to the terminal. Sounded like a nuclear bomb ready to blow when you turned it on and four industrial fans underneath to cool it. The hard disks weighed so much a friend had to help me carry it upstairs. :-) -

Just shows how Atari's problems run deep and wide. They had no hope of survival, even if Nintendo hadn't come along. -
What's the point? Who decides this crap :-) why in the world would anyone make a game that takes over a day to make a move. So they could market it as being a very smart chess computer... you just have to let it think for 24 hours. Silly.
-
I own the cabinet version, which is equally hard, but sometimes fun to play. The 2600 version was a dissapointment in my opinion, perhaps because it's so hard I can't do much with it :-)

Paul Slocum is the undesputed genius of 2600 sound. As well as up there in the ranks as one of the absolute best 2600 programmers. I hope he sets to work fixing up the sound on a lot of 2600 titles. It's a shame Atari didn't have him on board in the 80's, they might have stayed alive a little longer. :-)

Actually, after investigating the score more closely, it was discovered Todd accomplished his score using a promo cart the folks from Activision brought to the Chicago CES in 1982. It was for that reason I removed the score from the dBase and posted a more current, legit score using a commercial cart. Great, it's good to know we might be able to tie him at some things :-)
-
I posted the other thread... and as a huge sceptic in almost everything, I had a hard time believing someone was THAT good. However it's hard to dispute the evidence. One problem I still have though is the few "impossible" scores we have found from him that I feel shake the reliability of TG's database. TG has been prompt at fixing these scores once found, but that is what inspired me to post the thread originally. BTW... did we ever explain his impossible Barnstorming time? Or did we just leave it at "It must have been a PAL cart?" I have no doubt Todd can't out barnstorm anyone alive, but I wonder if it was just recorded wrong in the DB.
