Piece O' Cake I didn't even know that was a game until I looked it up :-) HE GAVE US THE ANSWER!!!!!!! I'll let someone else figure out how to get it from his story.

So it turns out the EEPROM I bought for this is actually a 28C256. I couldn't figure out why there were so many address lines, and I finally got it :-) I can't believe it worked without me even knowing it. So given it's a 256K(32Kb) chip I will be adding support for 32k bankswitching. Except, I don't know how it works. I'm assuming the most popular method is F2? $1FF2->$1FF9 for the banks? If it is it should be no problem to add it into my current circuit. Then we can maybe get paul to release his Marble Craze ROM :-)

It's decided :-) The cart will have a paralell port, and a power supply jack. The power supply will be your responsibility, or I may sell them seperate. There are some 12v features of the EEPROM that I would like to use and the Atari can't even do that, so 12v power supply it may be. The DB25 cable will be your responsibility too :-) a standard DB25 straight through will do the trick, just like the ones scanners use. Or are they cross over? Crap now i have to check.

I remember playing this? I know similar games are out for a variety of platforms, but I could swear I played a 2600 version. Oh well :-)

I thought about a power supply, but remember, we're working within the confines for of a cartridge here, plus that will add to the price of the unit, and I have no idea where to get these in bulk. If I could figure out how to make a 2600 cartridge port, I could design a loader device maybe, then you just have to bring the cart to the computer, not the whole Atari.

@Cpuwiz Unfortunetly i'm too poor to own a digital camera, so for all of my projects I take pictures with a regular camera and then take them to wallgreens and have them put it on a CD. I plan to take pictures of this now as well as my multitap prototype and have the pictures posted here in a few days. @Paul That is a possibility, but it would require more than one battery I would think to get the voltage required, and how would you know if it was dead? I don't want to get 100 support emails in 6 months because the batteries all died. :-) I will add this to my list of viable options, and develop a test circuit for it.

Using a Basic Stamp 2 to play Rom images from cd's????
Cupcakus replied to Vetek's topic in Atari 2600
Out of defense for myself :-) I only designed the flash cart because I couldn't find a cuttle cart anywhere :-) -
Actually the atari is necessary to be near your computer. The parallell cable does not provide enough juice to write enable the chip. I may be able to fix this, but for now the prototype only works on Atari power. I move wires by hand right now :-) but in the final product hopefully I can automate this somehow, but it may end up being dipswitches and determine the bankswitch type. I will program the PC software to tell you dipswitch settings for each cart if that is the case.

I for one, look forward to seeing some of your tapes, see the master at work :-)

Collection for sale, including the 'air world' cart

Everytime this bozo tries to sell this thing, we stomp on him like a bug and foil his whole plan up. That's so funny. -

Your forgot to mention the highly non-static, recapitulated, gold contacts on your digital camera's lens that provide perfect images. -

I've got an EBay account I use just for this reason. :-) I could bid like $3,000 on it and then not pay :-) Wouldn't break my heart. -
I took a break to finish up my flash cart prototype, and here's what I have working. It's a 16k EEPROM cart, with F8 and F6 bankswitch support. Once programmed it will hold the current ROM data indefinetly, or until you erase or overwrite it. So cuttle cart users are saved the issue of having to load the data every time you turn off your atari power. You have to have a cable from the Paralell port of your computer, to the cartridge, the cart will have a port on the top. I didn't want to design a loader, so the cable will hook right to the cart. That's basically it, you put the cart into the Atari, tell your computer to load the ROM, the software will prompt you to turn on your Atari, and click OK. Then it will load the ROM. I was only going to order a few of these, and I thought, heck maybe someone would want them. As far as cost, I have no idea, much cheaper than a cuttle cart :-), I will have to get a price on PCB's if others want them. If you're interested, just PM me, or post here so I can get a count. If you're not interested :-) OK, less work for me :-)

It's so funny how easy everyone claims this stuff is. I've been working on a development flash cart for the past few days, much less difficult than a multicart. :-) Not flaming... I just wish everyone that said this stuff was easy, would make the stuff, so we all could benefit.

Lets not forget 007, one of the forefathers of modern FPS games.

Just won my first NFL game :-) 13 to 3, yeah baby

Got it :-) It arrived at 10:00 AM, so the first thing I wanted to try out was Wacked!, however there were no players online for that game, or at least no games I could find at all. So.... dissapointed I loaded up MotoGP and got in on a 16 player race. The communicator at that time seemed terrible, There was some kid crashing into the walls and singing little songs and stuff, kind of ruined it. Plus I suck at GP, so I only placed 10th. Loaded up NFL Fever, which I never played before in my life, lost 6 to 68, with only 3 minute quarters. I actually missed the extra point kick. My opponent never spoke, another dissapointment. I was starting to wonder what everyone was raving about. So I went back to Wacked! and found a four player game, Everyone was talking, it was tons of fun. Everyone gangs up on the leader, oh man it's hilarious. Especially with the communicator. Finally I had some fun. I played Whacked! all morning, and just played another round of NFL, this time, I still lost of course, but my opponent talked, and we were talkin' **it to each other and everything, very cool stuff. The communicator works like you'd expect, sounds like a telephone on the other end. Plus too much conversation can lag the game, NFL has huge problems with lag, When a Whacked! level first starts up voice is very laggy, but in about a minute it's all good. You can also hear yourself sometimes echoing back into your headset. The communicator is also very sensitive, more than it should be, it's right by your mouth for goodness sakes. My son was playing with his toy on the floor, and the other players were complaining about the funny noise. So guess what happens when your TV is too loud? :-) Yep, so a lot of Live players have this strange background flutter that you have to listen too, because the communicator is picking up their TV. So all in all kickass, I'll see you all in there hopefully. Gamertag -> Cupkilla

You can buy the afterburner kit from liksang (Altho I heard MicroSoft made them close down) which is an internal frontlight for the system. You have to install it yourself, or you can send your GBA to one of these, "places", that will install it for you.

Hell yeah :-) I'm going to print that one out. PS2 sucks.

Animal Crossing, Mario SC, and Metroid are my reasons for picking it up. Oh and Mario Party 4, MP is the only game I've ever been able to get my wife to play with me, so it's worth it's weight. PSO will make it to XBox live eventually, so I'll wait for it, it will be much better on XBox anyway. :-)

Tracking confirms kit shipped today at 6:47 PM EST, will recieve tomorrow :-) Yeah baby :-)

#1 Good paddles of course, jitter will kill you fast #2 I stare at the center of the screen and let it get blurry, kind of like you're looking at one of the magic eye images. It then becomes much easier to recognise the pattern and catch the bombs. You're right though, as soon as you lose one bucket you're pretty screwed. As for the dying trick to make the next level easy, I don't recommend that, you may as well get used to the maximum level of difficulty, and don't deviate, if you go to an easier level and then back you will not do as well. I'm no expert however :-) My best score is around 4,000 so maybe someone else can help :-)

He told me it would be $5 a box for my game, although we're talking close to 200 copies, so that may be a break. He said he is working on a deal with a manufacturer so he can get the price lowered. I'll check back with him and see what the status is.

Prime is GameCube only right??? Damnit.. I knew I was going to have to buy one.
