It's not much of a windows program if we still have to use command line switches??? Is there a possibility it will become fully windows ready? That would be awesome :-) I could finally chuck out PCAEWin.

Post screenshots of your favorite bit-mapped Atari art!
Cupcakus replied to theaveng's topic in Atari 2600
Dang! NE... you're a great X-Man player... I've only been able to get to the first sex scene in all of my attempts... But wait a second... the purpose of the sex scenes is to make the woman orgasm correct? To achieve that in that last scene you posted must be really difficult :-) -
Star Voyager ended after so many levels... There are so many games just like this that it really is hard to figure out which one is which after a while :-)

My first estimate was 50... but that could be less or more dependant on a number of factors. So it's really hard to say right now with any confidence. Rest assured however, there will be enough for everyone!

Poll: Is there a need for another cart production service?
Cupcakus replied to PackratVG's topic in Atari 2600
Yes I Agree... competition is always a good thing... -
Thanks everyone! I just landed a fantastic job here, and I will now have plenty of money to really finish this up for good. I have had several delays that were caused by a simple lack of funds... but that will no longer be a problem... :-)

I actually did try fitting it in a case.. but because I had to cut the PCB myself... it does not even come close to fitting! The next prototype will be made to fit...

New pics of the printed circuit board prototype are up... check 'em out! http://www.atariage.com/~clarkin/

I don't think he's a lazy writer... just pressured... the article feels "rushed" IMHO

Why won't Berzerk: VE work on a 7800? Good to know and a reason to keep the 2600! As a side note, the Flash Cart may not work in a 7800 as well... I don't have one to test it on... and I can't justify the time and cost to figure it out if it doesnt...

Don't forget Chase the Chuckwagon... :-)

RoTA and Space shuttle are definetly my all time favorite games! The spider room is there in the event you trigger the trap doors then you cant exit out the left side of the prison room, you have to go up to the spider room, and then to the left to the timepiece room.

That isn't what I told him :-), I said, you will notice that a lot of Atari games incorporate flicker, by interlacing objects on speratate frames on the TV. "Why would they do that?" Well, the 2600 hardware is very limiting, and not very much can be drawn on the screen at one time. There are several tricks that can be employed to overcome this problem, but sometimes you just have to use flicker for what you want to do, or sometimes it's just faster to not have to figure out a good tricky way to remove the flicker, and even sometimes the programmer is just to lazy to work it out. He decided Lazy summed it all up I guess? :-) When I explained bankswitching, I went a little over the top in my explanation I think... it's hard to talk about it without getting "techy" and I think I confused him. I told him that the largest bankswitched cartridge was 64kb, but there was only one 64kb game, the rest of the bankswitched games were no bigger than 32k. I can see how that might confuse him... I was also talking about slices and segments, and addresses... I got a little carried away

The error is he omitted the games can be purchased in Cartridge Form still... the cuttle reference is correct.

Quest uses an Asymetrical/Reflected playfield. And believe it or not, Kablamo! does too for the little white boxes in the center of the screen. It doesn't have to... but it was more fun to include it.

A few of us were interviewed for this article... it has finally been posted to ExtremeTech.com http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973...3,857607,00.asp

Ooh Ooh, I know this one!!! It's the egg right?
-
Yes, I would say a 500 mA minimum.

If they're PAL carts, the screen will show rolling bars of garbage... But it will always look the same... A dirty, or malfunctioning cart, will usually show something similar, but will not always display the same when you turn the machine on. Do you have any games that do work?

Oh duh! I should read before I post... E-Mail it to me, and I'll put it up on my site, so we don't all have to sign up for spam-o-tastic. :-)
