I had to do that stupid survey twice too. :-) I signed up for the beta last March I think, and only got selected now. It's probably just some random software crap they run on their end to pick people. Plus M$ wants $29.95 to ship the beta kit to you, unless you are obsessed with playing it now like me, you might as well save the extra $ for a live game with the kit in 10 days.

Hey I didn't know that playing D&D could get you real powers! Cool :-)
-
Hozer makes labels, manuals, and boxes now too.

SGG and MMZ are SUPER difficult games, I get frustrated with them. I wouldn't recommend those. However anything Mario is a good bet.

Get a smaller TV, that will help. I used to get headaches, a smaller TV helps quite a bit.

I think we need a hint, people are just guessing wildly now.

E-Reader is really cool, however I don't think an 11 year old girl wants to play excitebike and DK, when her friends have Mary-Kate and ashley :-)

The new Yoshi game is Kid and Adult compatible... It really is tons of fun. I does get a little difficult near the end, but it's really simple for the most part. My 4 year old plays it (Albeit not very well) She'll enjoy it :-) (The greatest gift for any GBA user is a flash cart and programmer $~200 these days I think. Then you can play any game you want at any time)

Just got my beta acceptance letter Hell yeah, eat that!!!! :-) XBox live arriving in 24 hours :-)

vaseline??? You're kidding right? :-) That's not a lubricant, as some would believe, over time dirt is going to collect in that stuff and it will gum up so nasty you'll have to throw those suckers out. Vaseline :-)

I don't own a GC yet, I thought of getting one for Mario Sun and AC, is anyone playing it with the GBA/E-Reader? Where do you get the AC cards? And how do they help the game?

Cool, like 3D surround. Not bad.

This is going a ways back, but I remember when the media said RPG's were to blaim (No, not final fantasy for PS2 :-)) They tried to say the fantasy games kids played gave them a false reality in which they could be violent, and they carried it over to the real world. It will never end :-) I just played BloodRayne for XBox and loved it... cutting off Nazi heads and drinking their life blood makes my day a little better. :-)

It will probably be really messed up the first few weeks. Has any massive online software ever worked when it first went live? I think we can fully expect some minor issues in the first few weeks. I hope to get my kit and get signed in before the signup servers get flooded and we start having connection probelms. As for area's with no broadband yet, with some special tweaking it will work with DirecPC. Something to think about....

There was a thread here recently that had all of the Activision release dates... Try to track it down.

Why did everyone get picked for the beta but me :-( Damnit!!!!

That cap is interesting, it shouldn't be necissary in this circuit. Interesting. No RF shield either, another inconsistancy with production carts. Although I'm sure there are later run production carts that did not have them, to cut costs.

Paul is more knowing than me in these matters :-) I mearly attempted to hold him off 'till he could get a more knowlegable answer.

Using a Basic Stamp 2 to play Rom images from cd's????
Cupcakus replied to Vetek's topic in Atari 2600
Remember as well that the supercharger can only play 2k and 4k games, and it has to modified to do so. The modification ism't that hard, but does require soldering some IC's into the unit. Bob Colber's home page has the instructions for it. -
It's out, you can buy it if you want to through an Avon catalogue. However the games a wewritten replicas, and not really worth buying, but if you're in to that. Get it :-)

Only 12 days left, and I'm loosing sleep. What's worse is I picked up Whacked!, which the live beta testers tell me is fantastic to play online with other people, and it has the option built in to play it on live. So for fun I selected XBox live to see what would happen. It installed the XBox live software... oh man!!! Damnit! :-) So I set it all up on the network and everything, get it to connect to the Live servers, get all the way through the sign up process and it wants a subscription code. :-) I, of course knew I couldn't get online without something like this, but the anticipation is killing me... I actually read the license agreement. Ugh, Atari will be taking a side step while I play with this in 12 days. :-) I hope to see some of you folks in there :-) (Goes back to staring at the new XBox Live dashboard option in the main menu)

I'll help you out here a bit :-) I'm no proto expert, but I am a hardware expert so I'll tackle it from that end. Here's what I make of it. Printed on the back we can see three markings. Spectravision (No Copyright or Trademark insignia, highly unusual, an inspection of another spectravision carts PCB would put this to rest) HongKong (One of the few places in the world with no copyright laws, also the cheapest place to bulk order PCB's for cartridges) 2732 (4k EPROM - Could be pirate, could be Proto, most protos are EPROM) No Label... Why? Perhaps it was just removed over time, but it's rare to see an entire label removed, UNLESS, someone wanted to get inside and change out the PCB. We can also see the soldered pins of the EPROM and the required hex inverter, unimportant really however it proves that a 2732 EPROM is used. So real deal is ruled out, an EPROM wouldn't be used with a real deal cart. Proto or pirate... given the rarity of this game in the world, and the fact the PCB looks nothing like the A-Typical proto, I would have to wager a firm guess that this is pirate. Most proto games are labeled as such, and the PCB inside is rather interesting looking, the EPROMs in proto cards are usually placed in ZIF sockets as well, as the PCB would be reused when whomever was reviewing the proto was finished. (I cant tell if this one is in a ZIF socket, because the photo is of the back of the board) It is a very good pirate, and a fantastic find, it looks like they made their own PCB's for the carts and then used less rare spectravision game's cases, removed the label and threw in a super rare game. You should ask this guy where he got his collection from maybe you can trace the origin of this cart. Hope that will hold you over until the real cart experts show.

Using a Basic Stamp 2 to play Rom images from cd's????
Cupcakus replied to Vetek's topic in Atari 2600
The problem is he wants to put the games onto the system from a portible medium like a discman. If you had a PDA you might be able to code an IR interface, as for help on the internet. What you are concieving to do is highly original, and as such you will not find much help on the net to accomplish your goal. You'll have to use your electronics experience and programming knowhow to do it. If you don't have the skills required, you should probably just scrap the idea.
