Has anyone achieved max rank on Space Shuttle... I just got Pilot and was immensley satisfied with myself. I barely made it though as far as fuel is concerned. I'm wondering how you can get in with 6 docks and 7500 fuel left...

The e-reader has a built in NES emulator... which allows you to load the NES rom data from the E-Reader. In order to make it work for Atari, the reader would have to be programmed to contain an Atari emulator... Good Luck :-)

Yeah I couldn't believe the labels were perfect... I wanted to shout, but if he knew how valuable a perfect Activision label was to the Atari enthusiast he probably would have changed his mind

Space Shuttle, Ive just got the overlays on ebay and its so more realistic when using them
Space Shuttle is one of my all time favorites... however I own it brand new in the box, and it does not contain an overlay. Was this made homebrew or was it an option you could buy back in the day?
The overlays came with the original. There are two in total, 1 for the six switch and one for the four switch.
You can see scans of the overlays here..
Nope mine doesn't have it :-), it's not displayed or mentioned on the box. Do I have a rarer Version? I doubt it, my cart has the standard Activision blue label. But MAN!!! I would have killed to have that when I was younger. My manual for the game is totally mangled because I had to use it every time I played.

A shameless attack on Marble Craze... StanJr and Paul are gonna cut your head off.

Lastly: Cupcakus - what is Quest? I may have missed the post announcing it; I'm not consistent about reading the forums.Quest is my 4 player homebrew project. The official announcement is a couple of weeks off, when I finish it's web site and get pictures of the 4 player joystick multitap.
It is esentially a board game which is why I plugged it here :-), However it has many more traits hopefully never before seen in a 2600 game. I got a little bored oneday, so I made a "Flyer" image for it, which I shrunk into my avatar.

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha... no really :-)
Dissassembling it should be fun... I'll give it a try... however 16k games are not an easy task.
-
I know just about everyone wants one of these that doesn't have one... However I will be unable to release my upcoming game unless I have one... so I guess that means that I will have to pay double or more for one. If you have one, that you'd like to make some money on let me know and I'll buy it off of you.
I wish there was another way to test my game on the real thing.... With it being 8k I can't even use a SuperCharger.

Bring out the closet cheater inside of you! :-) I offer my services to the masses, if you'd like a game tweaked so you can play past your abilities, let me know, privately if your ashamed
, and i'll hook you up :-) -
Yep old news... but very cool none-the-less. I have to go find my Quake3 CD and check it out.
-
I really wanted a VCSp but I have a PocketPC with PocketVCS and dispite somewhat hard to use contols, but it is VCS portable enough for me.

I've been playing Pitfall almost non stop for about a week now, trying to get the max score... A little tired of the same old thing.... for some change of pace I hacked the ROM, and made it super easy to get the max score... :-) I thought I'd make it available to the masses if to see if they want to have some fun with it. As you can imagine, I was first in line to buy a Game Genie when I was younger :-)
OK -- Now back to trying to get the high score it legit.
Changes:
Timer moves to 19:59 and stops
Barrels and Falling cause you to lose no points.
Infinite lives
I was going to reduce the size of the scorpions to make them easier to jump over, but what's the point... an untrained monkey could beat it with the above changes :-) :-) :-)
-
<--------------- Quest :-) :-) :-) :-)
But before I started writing that, definetly Video Chess.... I actually learned how to play chess on the Atari. My grandfather told me how the pieces moved, and I figured out how to beat the computer... Which I never did now that I think about it.
-
Pitfall -- i'm determined to get a perfect score. A little over 100,000 is my record... so i'm close! :-)

http://digitalpress.5u.com/eastereggs/26smurfssavetheday.htmI'm trying it exactly as described, but it only takes me back to the start screen where the Smurf is going beeda beeda beeda back and forth.
You havn't lived a full life until you've gone beeda beeda beeda back and forth for a little while, everyone should try it at least once.
-
If memory serves, both difficulties must be B for it to work.
-
I don't even see any major difference in the logo's... I must be a very small Atari geek in comparison to the rest of you observasioners.
-
If I remember correctly, even if you plug it in it needs full batteries for the LCD... did you try this?
-
Yeah, but why would he offer it as a solution, when I asked for a method of playing my homebrew on a real 2600. I already have an emulator... I need a way to get it on the 2600... altho I suspect you're right.

All,To clear things up and not divluge too much info about the Anthology project. The title will be coming out for the Playstation 2. It will support cartridge "packet" downloading.
"What does that mean?" Essentially a PS2 / Atari 2600.
Thanks,
I still dont get it... *shrug*
-
Ken told me that the new Activision Atari collection is going to support actual cart downloading!
So my opinion is that it will be for the PC, and will have ROM images and hardware to write it to a real cart. Just a guess though. Here is my original thread where he told me this.

The IC makes 8 players possible, 8 players on a 2600 is just plain silly. Eliminating saves about $1.50 or so for the IC, and about $5.00 for a breadboard from RadioShack... plus about an hour or so more for production wiring all the wires and diodes into the board.
And, the golden rule of course is, the less complex you make it the less things that can go wrong with it down the road.

I dont see how it could be your favorite then :-) I've logged hundreds of flight hours
