  1. How do you like this? picked it up a couple weeks ago when i picked up a large lot of games and systems. Adds a nice touch to m setup and these are hard to find as well.

I love it, good score. nice addition to any game room/bar/game room/bar/bar/bar.

    I need a beer.

  2. I don't think so....... Atari, like any other collectible item, has their ups and downs...... I think with the economy right now, it might be at a lower point but I think it will go back up and even surpass previous highs.

I guess I would tend to agree with you about the ups and downs. I also see with the economy people trying to get more for their belongings. I haven't made a decent haul at a thrift store in a while but garage sales are improving and the pawn shops are getting a ton. I tend to feel a little dirty inside after buying from the pawns though. I feel like I stripped someone elses childhood memories to improve mine. Maybe I'm thinking too much.

  3. Your numbers are off. I'm 28 I got my first 2600 in 1988 the 2600jr model. Lots of poeple got the first Atari around that time. Be it the 2600jr or the 7800. The NES really didn't start selling big in the USA until Christmas of 1986. The NES was the #1 system from 1986 up until about 1991. So first gen atari would have been from 1977 until 1984. Then the after the crash atari kids like me from 1986 until 1990.

I hear ya I got my first 2600 when I was 5 and nes at 7 I'm 29. I know there's some room in there give or take.

  4. I had this thought from another topic I posted tonight. Has the atari 2600 peaked as far as prices go?

The reason I ask is that the NES seems to be getting alot more attention lately. My thoughts are the age of the people that truly appreciated these systems are moving forward. The 2600 came out in 1977 and the nes in 1985 in the USA. Is the generation gap vs. money and nostalgia coming into play.

The people that would remember playing the 2600 as children would have been born between 1972 and 1980 roughly and the nes between 1980 and 1987 maybe <-----just guessing not trying to be really exact. For me the nostalgia factor kicked in in my early 20's.

My thoughts are people generally go to college or get adjusted in their lives and careers in their mid 20's through mid 30's. The people that really enjoyed the 2600 have peaked and made enough money in their respective careers to afford the games they want for the 2600 and have come close to establishing their respective collections. Now the NES is blowing up in value. I'm thinking this generation is now getting in to the same place in life thus making the nes the next gen to really experience inflation.

    any thoughts?

  5. From what I hear they made 2,500 copies of this game. Still that is pretty darn rare when you consider the fact that Quadrun had 10,000 copies made of this game. Remember, Quadrun at one time would go for $500 loose when Atari was the thing to collect. Now the NES has taken the spotlight, and so something over 4 figures for a game that has a run of 2,500 is not that hard to imagine.

I think it's crazy at that many copies produced it should be an R7 and there's like 16 games for the nes that are this rare and way cheaper. At least quadrun is a good game too.

  6. ntsc stadium events

Okay I don't get this. I'd say about four maybe five years ago this game sold for $400-500 at most. Now its well over a thousand every time. People are paying a thousand dollars for world class track meet with a different label, Why? Same as Loch Jaw for the 2600, its the same game as shark attack. Does a complete collection of ntsc nintendo games matter that much to people to pay this amount of cash in our broken economic times for the sake of completeness? This is a garbage game with a different label that was briefly produced and no one really has an estimated number of copies that actually exist. Whats the guess 500 copies exist?

I just want to know why anyone would sacrafice this much on a game that is mediocre at best for nothing more than a label?? any insight?

    P.S.

I don't mean to sound hostile just really confused.......

I've got to wonder if this game really is as rare as everyone thinks it is. Granted, I've never found one in the wild, so it's scarce, but not FOUR DIGITS scarce. It's not an Earthbound proto.

Would I spend that? Probably, but only if I'd managed to get every other game and that was the absolute last piece of the puzzle. Otherwise, I'd keep skimming the thrift store bins.

right I agree but how many people are that close to a complete ntsc nes collection. Is there really a lot of people who are that close to justify this amount.

  8. What is the value of a complete Sega 32x collection? This includes all the games complete with box and manuals? Just wondering on an estimated value.

Well, depends what region. In the U.S., you don't have to worry about finding darxide, that game is stupid expensive CIB. And then if you want japan, some dumb sports games are rare because nobody there cared to buy them.

I guess just wondering about a complete NTSC collection. Does anybody have darxide? Is that game any good?

    :!: Japan is NTSC also.

    Okay, Not NTSC-J.

  10. I sold my NES about two years ago been meaning to pick up another one and did today with about 20 games. Got it all for $40 at a flea market. I really had forgot how much I loved playing the NES until I started playing tonight. Atari 2600 and 7800 are my all time fav systems but man the NES was number one in the late 80's for a reason.

Great deal, the nes is an awesome system. Around here you can get an nes for $40, by itself. Nice snag, what games did you pick up?

  11. it's actually interesting to see that the first offer is the same price whether you ship to germany or usa ... 26 euros for both countries ... so it kind of makes sense that he isn't willing to ship for free as it would cost him more than he's getting for the set ...

let him know that you have the link to the post office site and know about the price, and that he should adjust the costs. 26 euros is for a package up to 5 kg (about 10 pounds) so there's no way it can be more than that.

    I agree that's a really good point.
