! I notice you author your webpage under AmigaOS... will you be interested in my Amiga tools for Atari 7800 development? I'm hoping to put together a fairly comprehensive SDK. DASM for the Amiga is pretty old, but i've written several 6502 assemblers and monitors in the past, so if it doesn't do enough i'll probably modify one of those... -

Not that I love Intel, but AMD's efficiency model included exposed core design on Durons. Easy way for AMD to make money? Hav you buy another processor after the first one's core cracks when you clamp the heatsink onto it!Well, I can't comment, my computers are Motorola 680x0 powered

Why not write your code so that your game will work on both machines? Check this link to dowload Eckhard's documentation on how to do it:Check 'Backdoor.zip' there info in there on how to set up for both machines.
Ahh yes.. I do have that, but I hadn't really looked at it closely (right now i'm concentrating on getting a 7800 from eBay, and modding it to use as a devbox, as well as making an Amiga 7800 devkit ... which is no small amount of work

. This should be fun.. i love assembly coding, and learning strange new architectures... I make my living doing Z80 coding, but I can also program in 68000, x86, Signetics 2650, 6809 and 6502... -
Don't forget the Mhz speed the main processors run at. Interesting.Ahh yes.. "Mhz" and "Bits" the two tools that marketing suits use to confuse the customer.
A Spectrum (3.5Mhz Z80) has to have 3.5x the power of a C64 (1Mhz 6510) right? Bzzt. Wrong, its around the same, CPU power wise, not that the marketing guy will tell you that

Its still the same these days... now AMD have to sell their (more efficient) processors with "pentium equivalent" ratings, simply because their processors get instructions done in less cylces

I'm looking into making Atari 7800 games, even though it'll be an uphill struggle (I only have Amigas at home, so i'll have to port 7800ctrl, and that 78sign program to the Amiga before I can even start
), but I thought if I made a really good game (and I do have a couple of ideas... not saying more than that until I actually manage to get some code running on a 7800...
) it might be nice to get it made up and sold by the nice people at Hozer or Atariage.The thing is, both are based in America, and I'll be using a PAL 7800 and creating a PAL game. Would they make and sell PAL carts? Are there any european people that would do the same job?

The Atari 2600 is very simple in terms of what it can do, but quite complicated in how you get it to do it. Jay Miner and the rest of the team did a good job of making an affordable system that is capable of playing many games with the tech that was available at the time...
