  1. My wife got me those glasses for Christmas last year. Love them to death, and as was already mentioned, they're pretty high quality. Hope they eventually release some more featuring different games.
  2. The best? There's too many out there and I have too little interest to play them all. But my two favorites are the first Joe Montana Football for the PC and Super Techmo Bowl III for the SNES.
  3. So I'm sitting around my house on a lazy summer morning playing Popeye on my C64 when the phone rings. It's my best friend who asks if I want to go over his house. I ask my mom who tells me it's too close to lunch and I have some chores to do. So I tell him I can't go over. All he says is, "I got a Sega Master System". "I'll be right over!" So with my mother fuming out the ears, I hop on my bike and race over. Not only did he get a Sega Master System, but he also got Tag Team Wrestling, Choplifter, and Great Baseball. We played all day pausing only for the occasional bathroom break, raid of his dad's library of Penthouse, or random prank phone call. I arrived home to find myself in hot water, but it was well worth it. And to this day Choplifter for the SMS is one of my favorite games. Was quite disappointed when I bought my copy for the 7800.
  4. I'm not big into yard sales, but I saw a Sega Master System as I was driving by one. So I turned around to check it out, and the guy was walking out with a handful of Atari 2600 games. The SMS was in attic condition, but the cords and controllers were all there and came with a loose Double Dragon. There was nothing special about the Atari games, but there were a couple I didn't have...Journey Escape and a Xonox Artillery Duel/Ghost Manor. We agreed on $25 for everything. And the SMS works like a champ.
  5. I don't mind Blizzard offering a relatively safe place to buy and sell equipment for real money, but I just can't buy into the constant internet connection. Am I reading too much into this, or will there eventually be a day when I can no longer play Diablo III because there are no longer any servers to connect to? That would be my ultimate concern. Although realistically somebody will find a way around it anyway.
  6. Rocket Raccoon is what got me into comics, and he's been one of my favorite characters ever since. The fact I can finally play as him in a video game will have me pre-ordering this without a second thought. Although if he wasn't in it, I'd probably be waiting for this game to hit $20. I haven't been decent at a fighting game since Killer Instinct, and all those years of rust really put me behind the curve of modern fighters.
  7. Now that the kids are out of school, I tend to gravitate towards more kid-friendly games. DiRT2 has been getting more playing time than I had planned. I hated the game at first, but that was based on my impatience for the controls/physics. Now that I've given it an honest shot I'm really digging it. And with the X-Men Arcade game on sale for $5, I've been getting my money's worth from that.
  8. That would be awesome if one could still buy delisted games. I never got around to buying Double Dragon which I've been kicking myself over. If this can be proven, I currently have Root Beer Tapper, TMNT, Joust, Dash Of Destruction and Robotron which I'd be happy to recommend.
  9. Funspot at Weirs Beach, NH should be on that list.
  10. The most I ever paid was $40 for a copy of Carnival. But this was back on the first week it was released. It was more than what I usually spent on Atari games, but man did I love Carnival in the arcade.
  11. I need to wait and see on this one. Looks like quite the expensive gimmick. I'm sure I'll get it eventually, but no way am I charging in head first like I did with the Wii. Truth be told, after watching the trailer for the new console I got soured to the idea of the next console generation. I might just get back into computer gaming instead.
  12. Holy cow. I'm not a big AvP fan, but I just ordered one of those, too. Thanks for the heads up, man.
  13. Achievements aside, Avatar is a pretty fun game. Backyard Football '10 is an easy 1000/1000. I believe there's only ten achievements at 100 points a pop. None of them difficult, all of them offline.
  14. This right here. I'll co-sign on this. I'm not a huge fan of psychologists, psychiatrists, social scientists, clinical professionals or any other sort of doctor that falls from that tree. It seems like whenever somebody I know starts seeing one, they become worse and more conscious about all these magical disorders. I started having panic attacks a couple years ago after changing careers from something high stress to something low stress. I decided it couldn't hurt to see a shrink and get their opinion on the matter. The very first visit they explained what was going on, that it was a common thing, and it made perfect sense to me. What didn't make sense was that they wanted me to come back for weekly visits. Thinking this might help I started going there on a weekly basis. Only lasted for a few weeks. The doctor told me I'm "suffering" from OCD, and wanted to put me on medication. Really? Because I like to stay organized and keep things clean? Told her I wasn't interested in taking any medicine as the only thing I'm suffering from is anxiety and a sudden waste of time on a weekly basis. So she recommended yoga, which she probably could have done on her first visit. And it worked like a charm. I'm sure people more knowledgeable on the subject are going to disagree with me, but from my stand point this is all a scam. Throw some conditions at you that you might have read or heard about and offer to cure you through the use of expensive medication. "Hey, do you like to goof-off at work?" "Yeah, sometimes." "And do you have trouble finding motivation to do chores at times?" "Yeah, I do!" "Uh oh. I don't suppose you zone out when somebody is talking about something boring..." "I do that all the time!" "And do you really focus on things that interest you!?!" "Yes! You're describing me perfectly! I don't see how these traits could apply to anybody else other than me! What's wrong with me!?!" "Sounds like you got ADD, bro!" "NOOO! IS IT FATAL?!?" "WHO KNOWS! BETTER GET ON THESE PILLS FAST!" "THANKS, DOC! I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO SNIFF THE BAIT ON THIS ONE! JUST BITE DOWN INTO IT! SELL ME THEM PILLS!!!"
  15. Double Dragon on the NES. I used to be very good at that game, and could get through most of it without taking any damage, but I could never figure out the pattern to those stones popping out of the walls. So after spending all my time getting to that one point at the end of the game, I'd typically die several cheap deaths. So obnoxious.
  16. I'm not sure what Microsoft has up their sleeve, but they're planning on bringing Game Room to Windows Phone 7. You'd think they'd have a plan B if they're going to continue promoting it.
  17. To be honest with you, I'm not sure what you mean by "choices" as I'm not terribly familiar with either Witcher or Fable. I know the basic gameplay of those two games, and the D&D games are nothing like that. The Eye Of The Beholder series are pure dungeon crawling awesomeness with real time combat. The Gold Box series are first person exploration (for the most part), but the combat is turn-based strategy. I can't help but wonder if a good jumping off point might be Quest For Glory I & II. It's more of an adventure/RPG format, and might make the transition a little easier.
  18. I typically don't spend $10 on DLC games, and I refuse to spend $15. But I'll gladly spend $30 for these three on disc. Hope they do more of these.
  19. I said Amiga-specific. I wasn't sure if the poster was looking for something exclusive to the Amiga or not. Of course the Amiga had a ba-zillion great RPGs. Also correct me if I'm wrong (which I usually am), but I don't believe Eye Of The Beholder 3 came out for Amiga. The first two were awesome, though.
  20. The only Amiga-specific RPG I can think of that was really good was Moria (basically an Amiga version of Nethack). My top 5 list of favorite Amiga RPGs would probably go like this... 5. Questron II 4. Pool Of Radiance 3. Phantasie III 2. Ultima V 1. Bard's Tale III
  21. Ha ha ha! No kidding. I remember beating that game, and then checking the leaderboards later on and saw my score was a small fraction of yours. Anyway, great game for only $5.
  22. That's odd. I guess it depends on location. I didn't have a problem getting a sealed Raiden Fighters Aces at my local GameStop. Anyway, Deathsmiles is indeed a great game. I've been putting too much time into it which is very rare for me and shmups (the last one I can remember being addicted to was Xevious for the 7800). And what do I have to show for it? A sink full of dishes, hampers full of laundry, and an impressive display of bullet-hell fireworks every time I close my eyes.
  23. I was at Gamestop today because my oldest son was buying a 3DS, and saw they had Deathsmiles in stock for $20. So I picked it up, and at the counter I asked if they had a sealed copy (I don't buy games there that have been opened). The guy pulls out the Limited Edition box and says, "I have one of these. Want this instead?". Sold.
  24. I was planning on buying one anyway, but I'll be buying one sooner if I can get Netflix on it.
  25. If you're looking for strategy, I've got to give Ogre Battle the double thumbs up. Such an amazing game. I don't think anybody has mentioned Soulblazer yet, but that was a really good action RPG.
