  1. I still stick with swap meets. Garage salin is far too hit and "mostly" miss. Plus the gas consumption hurts. You may find great deals, but at what extra gas price? CDi Model 400 with the elusive "Ethernet" power supply, $2 (no controller, however) Xbox 360, $1 (RRoD) Genesis At Games, $1 (solo) Mario Cart w/ 2 wheels, $8 Laser Gates 2600, $3 I thought for sure the Weird Al debut album on CD was worth something, it's not.
  2. Colecovision and Intellivision Flashbacks for $15 total. I got Intelli the month it came out...waited on the Coleco because it's missing so many great games. A working Wii, $3. Passed on a Atari 400, light 6er 2600, few common games for $25. Hated the 400 then, hate it now. Mush keyboard, pshaw!
  3. Furthermore. Thank you AtariAge community! I don't think I would ever noticed that it takes a single AA battery for the auto-fire function. Original battery was still in there, but with minimal corrosion.
  4. Wow. Much like an Entex Adventure Vision, I thought I'd never see one of these in the "wild." Nowhere nearly as coveted, but I never wanted to pay eBay prices for it ($75+). The Starplex Video Game Controller. $10. (Just scanned the AtariAge forums, apparently not that rare) I haven't seen one in all my years of collecting (approaching 10 years). Still happy to have it. I'm a little disappointed. It's much, much lighter then expected. Buttons feel a little cheap. With it, I saw the Miner 2049er and BC's Quest ($5 each). Other buys include: Space Shuttle NES ($5), Dreamcast ($5), Wii with AC, Wiimote Plus (with Wiimote Plus add on--doubly sensitive!) ($25), Wii Dragon Quest Swords (with additional Wii Smash Bros inside) ($5), and SNES Jim Power The Lost Dimension in 3-D ($5).
  5. Seems like this threat is plodding along... hard to find games these days. Friggin' sharks! Doesn't mean great deals aren't out there. * Wii U Black (with: Controller [a scratch-free screen], 2 WiiMote Plus'es, 2 Gamecube type plug-in Zelda "Link" controllers, both ACs, loose Mario Cart $140 * 3DS XL (bare) $60 ...and my steal of 2015. * PS3 Super-Slim with 500GB (bare) $30!
  6. I tried calling the Microsoft Xbox 360 support line during my attempts to find the code to crack it. I swear, the lady at one point said "Type 'parental lock' in Google. Stick with me." I hung up on her. It's so sad...
  7. Oh, yeah, forgot about that. He didn't have it out so I asked about the power brick (very important). After a while he found it in his truck! That thing is worth about $50 alone. That "thing" also gives the Colecovision's power supply a run for it's money! I love how the Apple //c, Commodore 128, etc all showcased their slick computers. Then, as you're about to leave ... here you'll need this mother brick too!
  8. Ohh, yeah, side note: The Xbox 360 was parent blocked. Ever try to hack one of those? Extremely frustrating--took me 3 hours! Unfortunately it's not as easy as resetting the "BIOS" by removing a CR2032-type battery.
  9. Commie-dore 128 with 1541 disk drive. $20. Xbox 360 with 20 gb HD. $10. I'll pick up 360's all day $10 and under. That's how it's been. Video games are scarce, leaving classic computers for the taking.
  10. Tomba! for less than $10?!?! So a week later I run into the guy again. He still has all of the games, and he's still selling them for $15 each. I asked if he lowered his prices. He said no. Bottom line I got all three (Campaign '84, Galaxian, & Tarzan) for $30. My main gripe is that these people who don't know anything about classic games are using eBay as a guideline. When they don't know how to use it correctly, that is irritating. Another story. I was buying a PS1 game from some new guy I haven't met before. As I was asking the price he asked if I wanted this fighting stick he was cleaning up. So for $20 I got it and the game (mostly because I felt like he needed the money). Looked it up, worth about $150. That's called positive karma.
  11. Just how G-Damn annoying is it getting out there? I ran into some ColecoVision carts. Cool! Campaign '84, Galaxian, and Tarzan. Those were the winners among 20 commons. How much? Seller: "18." What??? "8?" Seller: "18." I repeated it just because I could not believe what I was I hearing. "8?" Seller: "18." "What if I buy a few of them?" Seller: "15, each" I left and came back about an hour later. "Can you do $20 for three?" Seller: "No." "You know these are slightly over-priced. How did you come up with that number?" Seller: "My wife checked eBay and saw they were going for $70, so we're at $18." "OK, I'm going to tell you right now you're wrong. Are you going to be here tomorrow? Because I think after a day, you might lower your price." Forget him. I'm not going back. Crazy. Ultimately depressing. Fleazin' is dead. I think it's all garage saling for me from here on out.
  12. Oh, no, you definitely can see it. Highly irritating. If it's normal--it is what it is. I just need others to verify.
  13. Does anyone know how to eliminate or minimize the prevalent blank (thus, black) horizontal lines that appear on Model I's? Is it exclusive to Model I's? Mine seem to scroll up slowly and happen only during motion. I've tried two different TRS monitors. Unfortunately, I only have one Model I and one Model III to compare. Several non-emulated YouTube videos seem to have this problem (again, just Model I's) and Wikipedia mentions something about it. It's highly irritating, do I just have to live with it? Is this how they acted when they were new? Thanks...
  14. Wow. Absolute steal. I love how someone went through each one and wrote a $2 sticker on them. Yeah, I'll take PO'ed, but I'm going to pass on L.Quest for $2. Where was this found?
  15. Coleco Gemini (2 Gemini controllers, AC) -- $7 (Missing Y cable for the paddles) >>Boxed<< Virtual Boy Mario's Tennis -- $2. Kept staring at this asking myself "Do I really want another Mario's Tennis?" It hit me a few moments later when I saw the For Display Only on the box. Box is crunched on one side.
  16. OK, here's another problem. I have a TRS-80 III and on the display the first 2 "columns" (pixels, 1/2 an inch from left) flicker during games. Is that normal? In this video it sure does look like it. thanks
  17. You just helped me get my new TRS-80 Model III to load games. The program "Play CAS" by Knut Roll-Lund will only work with a TRS-80 in the "L"ow speed. It only took me 2 hours to figure out... Thank goodness for this 5 year old thread!
  18. Even with classic Eveready batteries! Remember though you can only play this on a Magnavox TV!
  19. Coleco Flashback will take care of that. Counting the days...
  20. TI and their damn love for educational games. I swear half their catalog has to be ed-u-ware.
  21. Intelli Demo Cart...cool! 6 consoles. Maybe he was a programmer?
