Precursor to Mutant League?) And my steal of the summer... Genesis Punisher (complete) $4!
  2. Thrift shop Colecovision - Jungle Hunt $4.99 Atari 2600 - Ghostbusters $4.99 I'm happy with Jungle Hunt, but I so want Galaxian!
  3. Sloooow out there... Not even gaming related, but I'm sure electronic buffs will like these. $1 Speak and Spell (membrane -- still looking for the "raised keys" version) $4 Casio SK-1 Keyboard (~$40 ebay, for the boy -- he loves it) $4 Indiana Fate of Atlantis - 3.5" Floppies for Mac2 Several $2 Official video game guides
  4. DS Lite (Black) - $10 Korean Mega Drive (Model 2), pair of wireless 6-button controllers, 3 games - $10 Boxed 32X Pitfall (slightly beat up) - $5 ...and my steal of the year (so far) Sealed CDi Zelda's Adventure! - $2
  5. Most under appreciated = Lunar Lander. A thinking man's game. I loved the zooming in the closer you got to landing.
  6. Kinect $35, missing power for "old" 360 (ordered) Hope it works! TI99 Joysticks $3 SNES Tarzan $3 Watara SuperVision (rare Gameboy shape) with 5 games -- $20!!!
  7. Ahh...so what about retrogaming sports fans? I got the best of both worlds. That maybe where the obsession comes into play. I think all of us used to play these games when we were kids. It's the mentality of "I can now buy most of everything I couldn't have as a child" that plays a part too. But the OCD could be (at least in my case) that I want to complete the collection. Even though I fully well know that's impossible. I think a lot is mixed in. The thrill of the hunt, the desire to fill up yet another shelf, the admiration of friends (even if they think you maybe wasting your time/money), and the satisfaction that you (we) are doing our part in keeping retro gaming alive. Let me tell ya, for me, one of the biggest highs is recovering a "dead" system.
  8. Mild OCD here. My wife absolutely hates my collection. Hasn't slowed me down though. I just follow some simple rules (1) never pay more than $15 for a game and (2) don't get duped by eBay. Some collectors are very anal about the box, instructions, label, CD scratches...etc. I am to a degree, but I'm more of the "I want everything and I'm willing to sacrifice perfection to get it" collector.
  9. Yes! Suck on it NES! Take that ROB! Us 40-somethings have something to be proud of. Finally some "bad" news for the beloved commie NES. Stickin' with the Big 3: Atari, Intellivision & Coleco
  10. Really? Hadn't noticed... One of my local ones now charges the price of $7.99 for PS2 games. Lovely.
  11. Finds: GameCube - Super Mario Sunshine $5 Kenner LED hand-held - "Redline" (2 of them) $1 total Sega Saturn - Memory Card Plus $2 (terrible reviews on Amazon, never knew this knock-off was so bad) Sega Dreamcast - MadCatz Wheel $12 Sega Dreamcast - Sega Smashpack $5 Atari Key-chain (Yars/Centipede) $4 Xbox - TrickStick (arcade joystick) $5 (sealed) ...and the best for last GameCube - Promotional Zelda SEALED $5!
  12. Nothing more frustrating than "watching" an auction then all of the sudden it's gone. You're left with, "what happened???" Someone bought off the seller. Great for the buyer, but you did the immoral act. Auctions should be fair game. Ebay should start putting "seller pussed out" instead of "auction no longer available".
  13. Nice score today. 3 Xbox 360 wireless (white) controllers $1. That's $1 total! The funny thing is I am pretty sure I could have haggled to 50 cents...
  14. Xbox 360 Wheel: "smoking" version (but it seems fine). Not as cool as I hoped, but not a bad experience at $20. Pinball Plug-n-Play with built-in "ball release lever", $5 Blip "The Digital Game" $2.
  15. None. Nothing can fully emulate the controllers. People have tried and tried... but you can't do it. What I want is a Intellivision Flashback (in the style of the Atari Flashback).
  16. I like how he shot down the two "someguys" who tried to buy him off. Yes! Unusual label edge (lower right). Seems too sharp cornered, don'tcha think?
  17. PSP 2000: Black, w/ case, car adapter, 4 crap movies, 1 Sponge Bob game. The guy said $90. Then $80. Then asked how much would I pay. I didn't really want one. "You're not gunna like it--$25." $30? Sold. 5200: Zaxxon very minty $5. PS1: long box Wing Commander III $5. All there, scratch free. NES: Qix $3. Game Cube: Zelda 4 Swords "Players Choice" version $4. Xbox 360: w/ harddrive and power box. $25. Took a gamble. Had the flashing green power light problem. Turns out it thought the DVD tray was always open. I was able to fix it. So far no RRoD.
  18. I got the 25-in-1 Frogger circle shaped one for $3. What is unique about the AV cable??? I've tried 2 different ones with no luck. One of them was the AV cable for the Zone60. I know, I know--I collect everything no matter how crappy.
  19. $25 for the bundled Atari with "Atari" games. Yeah, more like some C64 games! Super Zaxxon, Frogger I & II, Congo Bongo, Pitfall I & II. Hard to find prices for these. I know C64 carts were passed over for "free" pirated games on disk back in the day... Good 'ole Moonsweeper was included and Dolphin. $5 each for the Xbox games. Love those Big Duke Xbox controllers, $5.
  20. Xbox 360 Jasper $60 2 Controllers (1 wireless official, 1 wired Gamestop) 2 AV cables 1 scratched Saint's Row (in drive) 1 power supply (slightly chewed, but works) 1st Xbox 360, I need Red Dead & GTA 4! GameCube: Zelda Promotional (very good condition) complete, $10 Jaguar: Rayman (loose), $3 N64: Indy Jones Infernal (boxed, complete, but box slightly beat up), $5
  21. You should always check the back and see if the Digital Video Cart is installed. That alone makes it worth it!
  22. PS2 Slim Black, $8 PS2 HDD, $14 (Are these good for anything? Obviously not for a Slim... ) Sailor Moon Season 1 Blue Box DVD (no scratches on any of the disks!), $10 (yeah, yeah, I eBay'ed that one; I just had a hunch ~$100!) Sega CD (Model 2) & Sega 32X with all cables, $25. Xbox Pirates Legend of Black Kat, $3. Genesis Micro Machines, $3.
  23. Here's a problem I haven't seen on the boards: When using the test cart (or Kelly's cart ), I can't go up/down on Joy1. Joy2 makes Joy1 go up and down when Joy2 is moved in a circular motion. The joysticks are fine. It's something on the base board. I re-soldered the 9-pin joy ports. Nothing. Suggestions? When I first got this I had the semi-famous super bright dot in the middle of the screen with the "webbing" and horizontal lines for text (no, it wasn't the brightness knob). I did the tip of replacing with a Vic-20 6522 chip and it worked. Only to discover the sound didn't work. I noticed one of my re-caps was on backwards , fixed it and now have sound! I can't give up now. This baby is almost back to life! Please help!
  24. I still can't believe this one (I believe it, but I can't believe it). Ever find anything else worthwhile out there? A wallet? Let's see, what's new? Vectrex with controller and 6 games, $25! First Vectrex I've seen in the "wild". Doesn't work. I guess it's too bright. Adjusting the brightness does not help, you can still see the traces and it has the horizontal lines for text. I'm going to attempt the capacitor replacement surgery. Several Sega CD games for $2 (nothing rare). At that price I'll get them just if they have nice cases. CDi beat to all heck, $5. Buttttt I got it for the included DVCart! Woohoo! Dragon's Lair, Space Ace! PS2 Kingdom Hearts II, $5. VGA Adapter for Dreamcast, $15 (had to get this combo'ed with another DC) Sega Saturn Gun, Wheel, and Arcade Stick, all for $15.
