  1. Wow! Where can I download the ROM?
  2. Has anybody played this? I just discovered it for the first time a couple of days ago. Very interesting, as it goes way beyond your typical DK bootleg. In fact, MAME lists it as a "hack," rather than as a bootleg. Does anybody know anything about the history of DK Foundry? Was it ever actually in arcades during the original coin-op era, or is it a more recent labor of love created by hobbyists?
  3. Wow, thanks for the hot tip! A torrent site devoted exclusively to emulation? That's terrific, and I've joined up.
  4. Ah yes, that worked beautifully! Thanks so much. Where can I get such good working ROMS?
  5. Now then, would you happen to have an equally good ROM for Logger? Worst Donkey Kong rip off in history, but I am a masochist.
  6. Wow, that's the best Dazzler ROM I've ever had! This is the first time I've actually been able to play the game and have all the sound effects and music actually work!
  7. Never mind, I fixed it. Learned about control-ALT-arrow key. Now then, why can't I get Dazzler and Logger working? I've got my cvs.zip bios file... I've got Dark Warrior, Hunchback, and Wall Street... Is there another Century Electronics ROM that I'm missing? Despite the fact that I have all of the above, I'm still getting the following error message: dazzler : 5b.bin (2048 bytes) - NOT FOUND dazzler : 82s185.10h (2048 bytes) - NOT FOUND dazzler : 82s123.10k (32 bytes) - NOT FOUND
  8. OK that fixed it. Thanks so much! Unfortunately, MAMEUI has now caused me a big problem, and I need more help! I was playing Buggy Challenge, and the game really started to mess up, so I hit the escape key several times to get out of it. Somehow, while the game was crashing and I was exiting out of it, MAMEUI decided to configure my screen in portrait, rather than landscape mode. And now it's stuck like that! In other words, I'd have to rotate my screen counter clockwise and set it on its side in order to be able to use it! It stayed that way even after I restarted the computer! I can't find anything in MAMEUI that would control this, nor can I figure out where in Windows XP I would go to adjust this. I tried the displays control panel, but there didn't seem to be any option that would control this. The only reason I'm even able to type this is that my computer is a Macintosh and I rebooted from my OS X partition. Please help! Thanks!
  9. Another one has appeared on my favorite blog: The More You Play With It...
  10. OK, I tried the ROM for Donkey Kong (US Set 1). Got an error message saying a buncha files were missing. I thought that was a self-contained ROM though. Do I need others? As to the MAMEUI interface, if I click on "available games," nothing shows up. Should I just copy all my ROMS from MAME OS X and put 'em in MAMEUI's ROMS folder? Is it picky about whether you're using the absolute latest ROM sets?
  11. OK, so I installed MAMEUI, downloaded a couple of ROMs, threw them in the ROMS folder and... Nothing. Worse yet, I can't find a beginner's guide or instructions and the message board at mameui.info is pretty disorganized. I tried looking at their FAQs, but that was just message-board related questions, as opposed to FAQs about MAMEUI. So tell me please, what do I need to do to get it working?
  12. Ah, thank you. I think that's exactly what I'm looking for.
  13. I'm used to MacMame and Mame OS X, but I want to install MAME on my Windows partition. What's the best MAME front end to go with? I just want it to work with minimal fuss.
  14. OMG! Night Stalker is the name of a serial killer! Am I getting senile?
  15. We have a winner! My friend has confirmed that Night Stalker is indeed the game that he so fondly remembers from his youth! And he found a pic of the sit-down cabinet that it came in:
  16. New info: The guy tells me the game bore a strong resemblance to Space Harrier, with the chief difference being that you were controlling a flying car or space craft, as opposed to a little guy running with a gun under his arm. My first thought was Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom, but I have a feeling that's too old and primitive to be the one. Unless there was a sequel with better graphics?
  17. Thanks, I'll run these by him and see if either one rings a bell.
  18. Pboland, thanks for the suggestions, but neither of those games involve a flying car, do they?
  19. It can't be Road Blasters, 'cause that doesn't involve a flying car, and the cabinet doesn't match the description.
  20. Thank you for the guess. Only problem there is that Wikipedia says Hard Drivin' Airborne was unreleased.
  21. Somebody I know on another site has appealed for help in remembering the name of an arcade game he used to play. I figure if anybody would know the answer, it would be somebody on AtariAge. Here's what he wrote: and and Thanks, people!
  22. I'll try to get back to that store and snag 'em then. No guarantees, however...
  23. Come on, aren't there any SF Bay Area people who are gonna jump on this?
