  1. The Atari XE Games System was a faliure, so I think that if it was marketed better and given a joypad instead of that stupid joystick (I loved it on the 2600 when I was playing pacman, but Flight Simulater 2 on the XE is a diffrent matter intirely. Lol!) I think it would have been a sucsess, though I still think it would have been pretty pathetic compared to the Mega Drive and SNES, I think if Atari made a true 16 bit system (Anything, even a ST gs!) the Jag would have been a lot less of a faliure when stacked against the Saturn, PS and N64, infact Atari may have even had enough money to made the Jag 2. Unfourtently this never happened, anyway let me know what you think!
  2. I was never a big fan of Pong back in the day, I always though that the Coleco Telstar Color was better as it offered PONG and squash (and I belive another game, memory is a bit rusty) in color, so I thought that PONG was much inferior in terms of gameplay and graphics.
  3. I doubt the Jag could handle Street Fighter 3 third strike, I would say 2 Alpha would be a more realistic for the Jag's capabilties as that was on the CD32 and 3do, and I think (though not sure) the 32x.
  4. In comparison to the Sega Nomad, the Lynx's battery life is perfect.
  5. Ok, magnetic disks then, but they are pretty much the same as cds, the same as video cds are pretty much the same as dvds, ok to the point... they are a heck more advanced then cartridges. Lol!
  6. I thought (and for that matter) think the Atari 5200 was not a particularly bad system, the controlers were not that diffrent to the ColecoVision or Intelvision, and it's faults such as it's size and incompatibtly with 2600 games were put to sleep with the 5200 jr and compatibilty pack, I think the 5200 failed for 2 big reasons, the liabary, and the game crash of '83. It is just ironic that it was the sucsessor to the 40 million selling 2600, even though there are no exzact figures, I can safely say it would not be a scratch on that.
  7. E.T were'nt the worst game on the 2600. Infact, I had some fun on it. Had it been made on the 5200 it would have probally been really good.
  8. I would say keep it. That's not a bad deal for a 5200 mint with all those acesories, and it is a good system.
  9. I do belive that there is a varient of the Atari 2600 jr made in ireland. But not the US.
  10. You could always give eBay a crack, however if you have no joy there, you may have to buy them games full price from the company it's self, but then, you get the games mint condition and have 100% gurrantie they are not frauds.
  11. I am not a liar, I always thought the 7800 version of Mario Bros was the best of the era, and yes! I thought it was better then the NES version, I liked the 7800 joystick aswell, nice and smooth, very nice to use during gameplay.
  12. Ok! I will try doing that. Thanks!
  13. I got the Jag version of Radien but not the Lynx version, though I would like to get the Lynx version.
  14. Blu Ray add on for the Atari 7800? Aint gonna happen, the 7800 has been dead way to long for anything like that. Also, call Atari the prehistoric company, but they were quicker to put a cd add on the Jag then Nintendo were to put one on the 64, and also they were quicker to make a fifth gen system then Nintendo aswell, also I don't recall Nintendo had any plans for a laserdisk add on in the 80s or 90s for that matter.
  15. I thought the Atari 7800 version of Mario Bros was awsome, way better then the NES version of Super Mario Bros, I think Atari really should of pushed this against Super Mario, but as always, Atari let competiton get the better of them until it was to late.
  16. Checkered Flag on the Jag does have sound, but it is very primitave, in other words there is no music, just sound effects. I enjoyed it personaly, but you have do put up with the basics, remember this is a 3d game from 1994 we are talking about here!
  17. I myself love the Jaguar, Atari's best console and Atari's most potential console. Altough the Sega Saturn, PS1 and N64 all killed the Jag in market share and technology, during 93 and 94, the only game on 16 bit platforms that even game close was Hard Drivin and it's sequel Race Drivin, the Jaguar was very easly on par with 32 bit consoles like the 3do and 32x, and far superior to all 16 bit consoles. It was one of the first consoles if not the first to have a constantly 3d liabary. Needless to say the stoneage 2600 was a lot more commercialy sucsessful and to this day represents what the Atari name means. Though the Jag had potential and that must not be forgoten, back in the day however, I had a blast on both Cybermorph and Kasumi Ninja!
