  1. Lets see... 2600- 56 7800- 3 5200- 11 ColecoVision- 17 Intellivision- 9 Sega genesis- 17 TurboGrafx16- 1 NES- 45 SNES- 13 N64- 16 Odyssey2- 18 My collections for most of these game systems started like a month ago and the game variety in Connecticut sucks. There aren't any stores with a retro gaming section or even a tiny back room with 1 Atari system in it. I cant find any really old games or even an N64 anywhere unless I strike gold at a flea market (which is nearly impossible in Connecticut), and usually at flea markets the NES games are like 5 bucks each. The guy who usually is selling old games always happens to be one of those idiots who considers absolutely everything rare, like those people on ebay who plaster 1 game like Pac-Man for 2600 as "EXTREMELY RARE VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE POS THAT I FOUND IN MY BASEMENT WHILE I WAS LOOKING FOR MY SUPER RARE ROLL OF VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE 1940'S PENNIES HURRY AND BID!!!!!!!
  2. Really??? I bought a Logitech controller and it broke 4 weeks later.
  3. When I play 2600 games on my 7800 the colors are all weird and the sound is horrible. Does this happen because the system is old or is my 7800 broken? My space invaders game doesn't work all together. The 7800 games play perfectly. I figure that something is wrong with the TIA chip.
  4. I was wondering, was the main problem with the 5200 controller the buttons, the joystick, or was the whole controller just an unstable pile of garbage. The buttons on BOTH of my 5200's controllers just broke.
  5. I don't like to categorize the jaguar with the 2600, 5200, and 7800 because of the fact that almost all of the games for it were horrible and the system was a complete failure. There are 4 categories of Atari systems IMO. 1-home computer age (400 & 800) 2-woodgrain (Pong & 2600) 3-silver strip (5200 & 7800) 4-black and red cat (Lynx& Jaguar) Pong is under woodgrain because i think the brown plastic in the middle counts.
  6. You should put glow in the dark paint on the black part of the inside of your NES (the part that goes up and down and holds the cartridge).
  7. They're almost equally as fat so i guess they're equally as good.
  8. Is it true that the automatic switch box for the 4 port 5200 can spontaneously combust or start sparking randomly???
  9. I suggest that you get a 2 port because you wont have nightmares about the auto RF switch box murdering you and burning your house down. I swear I think that thing is alive because of the click that it makes when you turn the system on and off.
  10. If Atari did release the panther they could have raised enough money to not make the Jaguar a complete failure.
  11. I bought my 5200 for $50 with all the wires, the auto switch box, the gigantinourmous cardboard 5200 box, 2 controllers, and 5 boxed games with manuals & overlays, so if it comes with just the controllers and hookups you should aim for a much lower price than $60. Maybe $30-$40.
  12. On the inside of Atari 2600s is a sticker on the metal box to the right saying CA010410 273S7732 but on mine there is a circular sticker saying 8136 Phillipenes. On the bottom shell of most 2600s it says Sunnyvale California but on mine it says Manufactured by Atari-Wong LTD. In Hong Kong.
  13. What was your best deal at a flea market or ebay or a thrift store? I bought an Atari heavy sixer with the box, all the wires, paddle controllers, joystick controllers, a video tough pad, 10 Atari games, and 5 intellivision games(3 of them were boxed) from a flea market for $30. At that same flea market I bought an Intellivision with the box, all the wires, 5 2600 games(2 boxed), and 3 intellivision games (1 boxed) for $40 and a TurboGrafx16 with the box, 2 7800 games, 15 2600 games, and 5 intellivision games for $70. I'm going to go back there to buy a 2 port Atari 5200 with the manuals, controllers, 5 boxed 5200 games, and all the wires for $50. The console is almost brand new and still has that beautiful purple plastic over the silver strip.
  14. Ugh. I hate guitar hero and rock band. Those games are for noobs that never tried to, or suck at playing the guitar.
  15. I have a growing collection of video game consoles. I started my collection summer of last year with my NES. Before that the oldest game system I had was my brother's super Nintendo. I didn't show much interest in old games until last year, growing up under the gigantic influence of the Xbox 1 (or as I like to call it the XBOX 180), the PS2 and the Gamecube I hardly had any knowledge of any game system made before 1995. Now my game system collection is growing at about 1 system a week. It's a small collection, but enough to impress, being how young I am. Sometimes I'll be able to snag one off of a class mate or flea market vendor for 10-$20. Home consoles- NES Super Nintendo (with the box) N64 ColecoVision Intellivision model III (with the box) Genesis model II TurboGrafx 16 (with the box) PS1 PS2 (with the box) XBOX 180 (with the box Atari 2600 (with the box) Atari 7800 Handhelds- Gameboy Gameboy color (with the box) 3x Gameboy advance (with the boxes) 2x Gameboy SP (with the boxes) 2x DS (with 1 box) I just realized, my collection is 100% retro. I might get an Atari 5200, Odyssey 2, Sega Saturn, Vic-20, and a Commodore 64 soon
  16. Every day I either bring my original Gameboy or Gameboy Color to school to play some good ol' Tetris and get some idiot either saying "yo get whit da times and buy a DS-i or a freakin' PSP" or "yo how much did you buy dat for??? Thats like ancient! you can probably sell dat thing on ebay for like $800." IT'S SO ANNOYING!!! :x
