getaway looks very close to what I'm thinking but I can't recall it going out of the screen.

 

It was more a dark green.

I forgot to mention, it's top down and I'm 85% sure its not a race

I'm looking for a game about a car which just drives around a green background which has some white objects such as a windmill, a petrol station and other bits and pieces.

 

I can't remember the point of the game, at least I think driving around to petrol stations and stuff is all I can think of but anyway i've narrowed it down to the Atari XL 800 because I remember playing Sticky Bears Basket Bounce on it and Sticky Bear's Basket Bounce isn't available on other platforms (at least I don't think)

 

 

Car-O-Rama does ring a bell but can't find any screenshots without getting some sorta reference to Putt Putt.

 

Why I want to play it? Just to see WTF it was all about.
