  1. To my surprise one SIO2SD/PC would not work at all (but I think I already know what the problem is, it seems dead, but has simply lost the MCU fuse bits settings I guess), it did not stop blinking while the LCD did not show anything.

Andreas I am surprised about that. You didn't mention anything to me until now. Please send it back with simple post, (not registered) to check it... as to repair.

All devices checked one by one for all functions. Buttons, sdcard, loader, program load, lcd display etc.

  2. Hello to all! :)

As I promised before 2 months, I prepared some more devices from sio2sd micro project, but with some personal touches. ;) Why this? Because really I feel boredom to make again the same exact device, and so I said my self..... what the heck... lets try something different.

Ok the new device named "SIO2SD/PC Combo" because as the name says is 2 devices in one box. Can be used as a normal SIO2SD device, or as a SIO2PC with a standard mini USB cable.

The alterations from my previous device is a new plastic enclosure, the 5 buttons in a straight line, 2 activity flat-top leds (blue -orange), Ftdi FT232RL usb to serial ic, a new super mini blue lcd with white dot matrix characters etc..

The price this time is slightly higher, mainly because of the extra parts.

Price for one device with Paypal fee included is 60 euro, and it can be posted for plus 6 euro as "signed for" with "track number" in all the world.

Hope you like it, and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Except from the members who have interested until now, I have parts for a few more devices. Also I make a list based on time who everyone express its interest.

  4. Unfortunately the little Atari almost went unnoticed by my country. :( Βut to be honest even another case I would not have the financial luxury to buy nor the same, nor the very expensive at that time 1050 floppy drive.

Today after some Commodore PET repair a friend of mine, 2 of that its in my hands in perfect working condition, thanks to some rework and also a friend from here. ;)

These diskettes was an extra bonus for me, to find in a store local here at a very low price.

A question to all. Ηow many packages must have someone in its possession in order to be satisfied??

  5. I want to share some pictures from my new MD2-D colorful Kodak diskettes. I believe cause is no longer in production, and I don't know if the ©1987 is also the production date, or a general copyright mark.

One thing is certain! The shiver that you feel when unpack the external cellophane for the first time after so many years.....

These produced in Ireland vs Fuji which is from Japan. :)

  6. Today I decide to replace the belts on my Chelco 1010 program recorder. Some time before and waiting the belts to arrive (thank you Ken!) I have prepare that with the change of all capacitors, pinch roller and heads cleaning, and replacing the red led with another green one.

Have you ever noticed any of you if the stock red led illuminate normally or very poor? In my condition this led was light very poor, and after investigate the problem, I see cause the resistor who supply it with power was wrong. To work a generic led at 12 volt dc (on Chelco unit is 9 volt ac but after the bridge diode is 9 x 1.41 = 12.7 volt dc) usually needs about 1 Kohm resistor.

My unit for some reason had 8.2 Kohm. What about yours?

Also a tip to other member with the same device. Even if your unit work like a charm, you must replace at least the 7 little electrolytic capacitors. These are five x 4.7uf, one x 47uf, and one x 1uf. In my condition they where all dry. Plain paper! :-D
