      I've had my gmail for a bit over 15 years, but yeah, considering ditching it.

      I have a VPS, just need to grab a new domain and update postfix. The only thing I'll really miss is the slick web interface. The open source ones are a bit clunky.

      I rarely use web-based email clients.  I primarily use the Mail app in macOS (and have been for over 15 years!), as well as the mail app that comes with iOS.  I've tried switching to other mail apps in macOS (and there are some nice alternatives now, finally), but every one of them I've tried has had one or more issues that kept me from using it more than a few days.  And I don't really like Apple's Mail app very well, but it does work.

      That's food for thought. I tend to use lineage os for mobile (an ungoogled android build) and a local mail app would work fine there. Back to local mail apps feels a bit retro to me. :P

    If you're going to try one, try the Genesis pad instead of the SMS. :)

    I've heard the SMS pad has problems with diagonals.
