  1. To all who wish they had a box to go along with their Halo 2600 cart I've prepared several color and style choices as well as a manual with custom back cover art. Click the following link to download a zip file with everything you need to start printing. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?xp1gmkqa7rj6b89 Look below for samples.
  2. To all who wish they had a box to go along with their Halo 2600 cart I've prepared several color and style choices as well as a manual with custom back cover art. Click the following link to download a zip file with everything you need to start printing. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to print and apply to cardboard. The manual is pretty easy, just print it double sided, (as in back to back) and staple the pages together. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?xp1gmkqa7rj6b89 Look below for samples.
  3. lol, I'd love to see your friend's face when you hand over his copy.
  4. It's both. As a 30 year old gamer and die hard Halo fan I have a huge amount of nostalgia for Atari and a love for Halo. To me, Halo 2600 is a great game that I enjoy playing AND it is a fascinating piece in both my Atari collection and Halo collection. A person can be a gamer and a collector. Halo 2600 can be both a collector's piece as well as a game released in 2010. These things are not mutually exclusive. Perhaps "collectible" was the wrong word to use, but I assure you I'm not the only one that was just as excited to add Halo 2600 to my collection as I was to play it in my heavy sixer.
  5. I'm happy with my Gray Label version, but I wish I could have bought one of the Black Label copies at CGE. BTW, does anyone know how many of the Gray Label carts will be made? I hear there were 130 of the Black Label carts made, but I'd like to know the total of Gray Labels there will be just because I like to keep track of the rarity of my collectibles.
  6. How nice of him to to promote AA while selling a $20 game for the highest profit possible. Selling it at a Buy It Now price of $20 would have been just too short of a promotion period. I wonder if the person who wins his auction will end up being the person who would have bought that very same game from AA had he not purchased it for resale. Oh well, at least he was polite in response to someone.
  7. I'm really impressed with the quality of the Halo 2600 cart's label. I've been thinking of ordering a couple custom 5200 carts from the Atariage Store. How should I send my custom label? In the cart template file or cropped so it's just the printed portion?
  8. And it has begun. (I won't post a link, but Halo 2600 only gets one eBay hit from...guess who.) Well, hopefully Al can get a counter offer up on ebay before he has a chance to profiteer.
  9. That will change tonight. I'm putting my used version (I ordered two) up tonight for a three day auction. You know, that's kind of a sucky thing to do. There's a waiting list for people who want to buy it new and you've eventually purchased an extra that someone else should have had the opportunity to order and intent to sell it for a profit. Now, if you intend to sell it for less than $20 than ok, but to buy two just so you can sell one isn't cool. It's like ticket scalping or profiteering.
  10. The original run was 130. Thanks for the correction. I got that number from an article so who knows where they got that from. Ok, so there were 130 of the black label. So how many are in the "grey" label run? It's kind of a secret forum only release since it's not in the store and very few people are aware of it. It would be interesting to see if there are less grey labels than black when the second run is finished and no more Halo 2600 copies will ever be made.
  11. My Halo 2600 arived yesterday, it works great, and it's a blast to play. I love it! BTW, I know that the original run of carts was 500, but how many of the second run will there be? I'm just curious how many there will be total on planet earth. As a collector I like to know how rare a piece of my collection is and I intent to keep Halo 2600 in my collection forever.
  12. You did read the thread right? It's pretty obvious from my question that I did since I referenced his post in mine.
  13. To Ed Fries: You said that you made Master Chief and an Elite on a whim and ended up making a full game. Did you ever consider tossing out the Halo characters for original content to avoid any legal issues? What alternatives would you have used if Halo was out of the question?
  14. For how short a time Yahoo articles last on the front page before getting lost forever I doubt it would matter at this point. It's too bad they didn't mention AA, it would have been like free advertising.
  15. You're so right it's like the best parts of Berzerk/Frenzy with it's own cool style. If this had come out 30 years ago it would have been huge!
  16. Thank you so much. I've sent my payment, you should have the confirmation. The collector in me is more excited about Halo 2600 than Halo Reach. BTW, if anyone is interested in a Halo game in the style of an old handheld game, I made one a while ago. It's called Halo Gallant Belle for the Gameboy and Halo Gallant Girl for the Game Gear. They are the same game, but he Gameboy version is monochrome and the Game Gear version is color. Links below: Here's a direct download link zip file: http://www.mediafire.com/?9u234rupaolr53k Below links allow for browser play with a plugin. Monochrome Version: http://www.yoyogames.com/games/64148-halo-gallant-belle Color Version: http://www.yoyogames.com/games/64150-halo-gallant-girl More info: http://www.2bitproductions.org I can't wait to pop Halo 2600 into my heavy sixer. This is the coolest thing to happen to my VCS in ages. It makes me feel like a kid again. Thanks again!
  17. I will be posting something about this tomorrow.. ..Al Thanks for the update! Hope it's good news. I'll log on as soon as I get home from work.
  18. Knowing now that 2600 carts of Halo 2600 exist I can no longer live a satisfied life without possessing one. Please, please, please make it available in the Atari Age store. Thank you so much for making Halo 2600. I'm a long time fan of Halo and an even longer time fan of the VCS.
  19. I hope this is the right place to post this question. My 5200 works perfectly for a couple minutes and then the game stops. The power is still on, but the game screen goes blank and there isn't any sound. It does this every time I play a game. After a few minutes it just goes blank. It's like a black screen of death. Is this common, is there a way to fix this? I've been maintaining my 2600 and other classic machines for last 20 years and the 5200 is the first to stump me. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron, but I need to know the fix before I can do it. Usually I can find a common fix online and solder in chips or caps, but this time I've searched extensively and I can't find anyone else having a similar problem or tips on fixing it. I'm willing to do just about anything but I need to know what the issue is and where the problem is to be able to replace parts or make adjustments. Here's hoping an expert has a solution. Thanks in advance, Kain
