  1. Well, most of them are given to me because they're either unwanted or need work. If I don't take them, they get thrown away. I offer them to people who want one, but few do. Just for the chips inside, they're worth $20 + other parts. I have an arrangement with 2 local game stores. They won't take Ataris unless they are perfect. Sometimes they'll offer a couple bucks in-store credit for one if someone's buying lots of stuff. I do repairs on some of their later systems and they give me the older stuff that was abandoned or traded for free. I fix them and get them back to full function and store them until someone wants them. They will not be $5-$10 decks though. Got any 5200 decks that are refurbed for a reasonable fee?
  2. Not knowing much about the history of Atari's early 80's lawsuits, I am trying to understand the legal logic behind one in particular: Atari vs. Imagic, regarding Demon Attack. OK, so the flying demons in Demon Attack mimic the flying birds in Phoenix somewhat, but some judge actually awarded monetary compensation to Atari over this? Wow! I look at so many other games of that era and have to wonder why the lawsuits didn't fly: Dig Dug compared to Mr. Do. I think Mr. Do came out first, so was Atari guilty of plagiarism here? Robot Tank vs. Battlezone. Why didn't Atari let the litigation fly on this one?
  3. Not from the prices I have seen. That is about average for a complete Miracle Piano setup. More than I can afford to pay though...
  4. Not necessarily a total loss. Go on ebay and search for "NES ROB". I just did and various parts and components come up for sale as well as complete units. If you know what you need, maybe you can get the various missing parts for cheap. Best wishes. TZ
  5. What all did you get with the $10 setup? If they left out the plastic disks, then Stackup is a loss, as in you will not be able to play it. I think Gyromite rewuires disks or some sort of plastic spinner top gadget as well. You can normally find Gyromite and Stackup carts at used games all over the place around my area. If they sold you the complete ROB setup with disks and spinner tops for only $10, then you got a spectacular deal for certain.
  6. Itchy Koala, question regarding your neat organized shelf setup: Where are all the games, AC adapters, and various controllers stores at? I haven't posted my collection yet because I have most of my systems stored in two tower stereo component rack setups on opposite sides of my entertainment center. The only problem is that all my games, cables, adapters, and various controllers make the shelving look disorganized. Thankfully, my stereo rack setups have tinted glass doors to hide it mostly from sight.
  7. Why not some Activision ports like: Crackpots Spider Fighter Keystone Kapers Megamania HERO Frostbite Enduro Space Shuttle Robot Tank Or: Arkanoid Ms Pac Man Qix Hmmmm...
  8. Get one of the CL crawler programs. They are great and allow you to search multiple CL locations simultaneously. Also, like IK said, look under computers, electronics, toys, and collectables as well as the video games section. I got my Colecovision, Sega Master System, and two Intellivisions from CL. Be persistent and check the site often.
  9. Be careful in opening Vectrex. CRT holds high voltage and you can die.
  10. Man, Joe, that's some collection of systems and computers you have there! Where do you fit it all?

  11. The miracle piano keyboard attachment is highly sought after among collectors. They even made a version for Sega Genesis.
  12. I, Robot has never been ported to a single home system and would be most excellent on either 7800 or 5200...
  13. I take it there is an adjustment screw or similar on the pots in question? Best method would probably be to do adjustments with Missile Command running?
  14. ^ Thanks for all the answers. So if it is a flaky pokey chip, is this fixable, or can I buy a replacement and solder it in its place?
  15. If you do it, please allow console mods and homebrew/proto sales. My biggest issue with ebay and GG is that they do not allow you to sell console mods. Also, encourage sellers to not price gouge. I have not bought anything on GG because the prices are generally sky high.
  16. First, no controllers (stock Atari, PC, or otherwise) will reach the final 2-3 inches of the right side of the screen with my "good" Super Breakout cartridge. My "bad" Super Breakout cartridge only boots to the intro screen and will go no further. Most of the letters in "Super Breakout" are gone from this intro screen as well. Anyone know why that is? Second, I had tried the Ultra Racer controller with a few games to see how it worked, and the ones that were problematic I have double-checked with my two refurbed stock 5200 controllers. Here are the results: Gyruss would only rotate the ship to the 9 o'clock position and stop with the Ultra Racer used through a PC controller adapter cable. With both of my 5200 stock controllers, the ship will not rotate at all, although the fire buttons do operate fine. All the ship does is set at its initial 6 o'clock position. With my PC digital arcade stick, my Gyruss mothership rotates around the full range of movement fine. Weird... Space Invaders would not move my cursor left or right with the Ultra Racer, but it moves fine across the full range of left-right range on my TV screen with my two stock controllers. Finally, I have a "bad" copy of Space Invaders that only boots to the intro screen and goes no further. Even then, where "Space Invaders" text would be toward the bottom of my TV screen, I get "LiveLivePlayPlay" in its place. Huh? Anyone with any answers? Are my controller ports going out on the console? If so, then are these easily reparable? Why would Gyruss work fine with a digital PC stick, but no movement at all with the standard 5200 controllers? Thanks. TZ
  17. One more thing I noticed: You lack a 5200. Is that a future addition, because you are missing out on some seriously fun gaming?
  18. In addition to alcohol or contact cleaner for the cartridge and system pins, a little fine grain sandpaper lightly over the pins can work miracles with non-working carts. FYI.
  19. Cool stuff, IK, and I admire your shelving setup. You and I are fairly evenly matched. I lack your Odyssey 2, TG-16, and 3DO, but you lack my Sears Tele games II, Worlds of Wonder Action Max, and Gamewave.
  20. Nice work. Where did the transluscent blue case come from? What is the toggle switch on the side of the case used for?
  21. Resistance was futile...
  22. Don't shop there. I quit many years ago.
  23. I am shocked to see no "PM sent" posts so far...
  24. How about PS3? Isn't it still around $399? Ridiculous.
  25. Earlier post was kind and pointed me to Pac Man Collection. Can anyone point me to a site where DK Arcade might be purchased? Thanks.
