  1. This is Major Tom to ground control. I'm stepping through the door, and I'm floating in a most peculiar way... Oops, wrong oddity...
  2. I have both PSX and N64 versions of this controller. They are excellent and generally rock with racing games on those platforms. I am awaiting my PC one in the mail to give a verdict on it.
  3. NES has a huge library compared to VCS, but no reason to squabble, just own them both.
  4. As a rule, I do not return anything I have purchased. This is my first ebay return in my many years of buying on the site. I paid $20 for that controller plus $5 shipping and it did not covert the three right-side inches of my screen. I really had no choice, and the seller is free to relist it if so desired. I am hoping for better success with my $.99 one, but will see when it arrives. If not, then I will most likely keep it for the low purchase price I am paying.
  5. What many fail to realize is that over half the VCS games came out under James Earl Carter. Reagan did not take office until late January of 1981.
  6. Some of this is impressive stuff. VCS. Wow! The really rare titles would eat into your budget in a huge way. INTV, 5200 and CV are smaller libraries, but the rare games still eat up the money quick. I would guess the people with best chances of completing any given collection are those who got the system and games near launch, and had the blessing of living under financially independent parents. Let's face it, most of us couldn't afford the games, rare or not, when they were selling for $50 a copy new.
  7. Why, ebay of course...
  8. INTV venture is closest to the arcade and has nice smooth controls IMO. I played a lot of arcade Venture way back when and never noticed a lag of any sort in the controls.
  9. That one is on the way back, and the seller was kind and refunded my purchase price plus shipping. I found another for $.99 and it is on the way. Hopefully, this one allows the full range of motion across the screen.
  10. Does anyone have a complete set of games for any given system? VCS, INTV, CV, 5200, 7800, Jaguar, etc. Seeing that the goal among many collectors is to achieve the holy grail, a complete collection for game system XYZ (you name the system), I am curious to see how many have attained this goal.
  11. So did cjrocco and the mother-in-law have a real collection after all? Did they ever post any of these rare games in the marketplace or on epay? Did it ever prove to be true?
  12. Take a look again. 500 is not even close. Try 3,000 - 4,000. They go upstairs to another room full besides what is on the ground floor.
  13. That is an impressive number of cartridges. I collect for all systems and do not have even 1/4 of that amount. Plus, factor that they cannot use shorter carts like SNES, Genesis, N64 and SMS because of CG issues. Maybe this is a dealer using his store stock?
  14. Only custom controllers I have seen for 5200 are paddles. Everything else is an adapter of some sort.
  15. George H. W. Bush. So much NES and Genesis goodness, how could a person go wrong?
  16. Of course you should get one. They are cheap and the library is impressive.
  17. I have somehow amassed a small collection of N64 TV commercial spots on VHS tape that I have come across at various charity thrift stores. They have professionally done cardboard sleeves and look like maybe they were promos mailed out to existing Nintendo customers. Being gaming related and cheap, I could not pass these up. Is there anyone else that collects VHS tapes of old game and system TV commercials? Will these hold any value in the future? Are there any others out there besides just N64?

  19. Sadly, this ebay seller sold me a broken controller. Like Bohoki said, the left slider calibrates the left-right movement. I cannot get the controller to reach the final three inches of the right-side of the screen on Super Breakout, no matter where I adjust that slider switch to.
  20. I don't have Kaboom!, though it is on my to-get list. As for the capacitors, I have two of your cables and one has brownish-red caps, and the other one has light blue caps. I have tried the controller with both adapter cables and get similar results either way.
  21. OK,this arrived yesterday, but the reviews are definitely mixed. Super Breakout was a frustration because the controller appears to be out of calibration and the cursor only moves within a range toward the left side of the screen. I cannot get it to go to the far right side no matter what I try with the calibration slider switches. Any suggestions? Galaxian was excellent, with the movement being unimpeded by the lack of calibration. Pole Position was decent, although the car kept pulling to the left. Maybe because out-of-calibration? Space Invaders was horrendous. The ship would not move side to side at all, although the fire button did work. Finally, the game I thought this would be the coolest with was Gyruss. Suffice it to say that I was thoroughly underwhelmed. My ship moved to the 9 o'clock position on the screen and there it stayed. No amount of rotating of the controller knob helped.
