Its probably been asked before, but I am curious. You know like how really old songs and hymns became public domain over the years. Or does this require some estate curator to sign off on a legal document of some sort? I guess what I am alluding to is, will Pac Man and Zaxxon ever be public domain by sheer age, or would Namco and Sega have to sign off rights first?

Y, somebody ratted me out for a modded NES one time. The only "infraction" was a disabled 10NES lockout chip on a front loader. Thing they could never explain is that Nintendo left the 10NES completely out of the top loader, so how was my mod doing anything illegal? Game Gavel had no problem with me listing the exact same system over there.

Call me dumb, but I need educated about what is so wrong with these auctions.

No sizing abilities in MS Paint. You can download a freeware photo editor that has common functions like crop, resize, and brightness adjustment.

That PS2 console has been through the war. Almost as laughable as all the "rare" items on Ebay these days. Somehow, use of that word magically makes a common game cart worth more.

Thanks for the response, but I have looked the innards of this pot over with a magnifying glass and there are no shavings or liquid that I can see. I have thoroughly cleaned this pot's inside contents, along with polishing the metal contacts on the stem's disc with fine grit sandpaper. And so no sandpaper residue is left, I have gone over the contacts and carbon patches with alcohol after polishing.

Is it possible that your relabeled console was originally labeled for sale as a CBS branded model? If so, then maybe that is a CBS label underneath. Just a guess. Use a heat gun to carefully remove the top label. If done right, there will be no damage and you can reapply it with Elmer's glue at a later time if so desired.

Even if old solder is difficult to reflow, simply apply new solder over the top of the protruding pins on the back side of the PCB. It all accomplishes the same thing.

I have eliminated jitters in many paddle controllers by decrimping the pot housing, taking the stem out, and cleaning all contacts with alcohol. However, I have a particularly stubborn one that still jitters, albeit not as bad, even after I have taken it apart no less than four separate times to re-clean the contacts. It makes me wonder if maybe something is wrong with the wire harness or plug, but I cannot figure how that could be the case because the paddle for player 2 works fine on this set. Anyone with any ideas?

Why no love for 5200 games?

Here's what I have done with my power supplies since I collect about every console out there: I use a gold fine point paint marker to write which system(s) each power adapter goes to on each adapter (usually a side location due to labels and plugs). This way I don't end up making any costly mistakes. Some, like Jaguar and Genesis model 1 fit multiple systems, so I mark them accordingly.

FB1 is a respectable PNP. I have one and the games are good 2600 ports.

Get a 5200 and you will be glad you did. The controller haters are to be ignored. If the sticks seem "loose", get some replacement rubber boots from Best Electronics and the sticks are self centering. Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man play nicely with my refurbed stock Atari sticks.

I think the only reason the card went on the outside was because it was an afterthought. The package had already been wrapped when it was discovered that the card had been left out. Put enough tape on a card and it will survive the trip.

Here's a lesson learned with USPS a few years back. When sending a package to a person at Christmas, and if you want to send them a Christmas card as well, make certain to put the card inside the package. My wife shipped a Christmas present that had a card in a separate envelope taped to the outside. They charged her an additional first class stamp on top of the package fee. Lesson learned, so now all cards go inside the box with the gift at Christmas time. That way, we only pay for the package shipping fee which is high enough anyway to begin with.

I picked up 5200 Zaxxon for $2 at a charity thrift store shortly before Christmas.

Will be waiting to see the artwork, then maybe we can venture a guess...

I wish I had known. I had a non-working console that I bought at a yard sale over the summer. Something was bad with the main board and it looked like somebody had stored it in a barn because it was so dirty. I should have kept the cartridge connector. Instead, I threw out the innards and only kept the outer case as a spare.

Man this thread was getting some serious responses until somebody moved it. Was better under the 2600 section.

Are these easy to mod with the 2600 cart slot? Would I have to scavenge one from a 2600 console?

Yes, if its boxed its worth it. Didn't see a box. It only had one joystick. Did these come with two sticks when new?
