sounds more like an RPG or "Games Workshop" (re:Warhammer) type place

Western Sydney. Thats why I need a good name I'll probably be forced further east because I'v seen to many arcades close up shop around here in the past 5 years.

I won't have the start-up capital required to get my own machines so whatever I can lease (Classic or replica) is fine. I will, however, buy the real things later on Actually I don't think lease is the right word ..... I think most places use a profit sharing model? Theres a whol bunch of 45's on ebay.com.au right now. All 80's music I could set up an old jukebox. Now that would be cool

Exactly what I was thinking An Arcade + game store. Selling classic games, imports, homebrews, t-shirts, etc.... The machines would be 100% classic, i.e: Not those $1 to $2 a play games you see in cinema arcades but 20 to 40 cent games like the old days Have competitions with prizes and stuff and a freeplay friday too ..... Mabye

I'm looking to start a classic arcade. I might have to lease the machines until I turn a profit but I don't mind. I'm planning to attend a bussines course and do anything I have to, to get this off the ground, but first ... I need a name. I'v never been good with naming things and the only arcades I'v had exposure to have fairly bland or just plain bad names (Playzone, Timezone, that machine at the pizza shop ... ) So I'm asking you. What should I call my arcade ? It should convey the classic nature of the place. I'll have newer machines too but want to focus on the nostalgia.

Do any of you own games you've never actually played?
Happy_Dude replied to sku_u's topic in Atari 2600
I have a lot of Megadrive games I haven't played yet. But thats more due to the overwhelming number of titles that I'v acumulated in such a short period of time than any apathy or reluctance on my part. I plan to play every game I own ..... eventually -
I still only have 1 cart that I bought from somone on the boards I checked out Gamefaqs.com but they had no codes for leveling up Mabye one of you guys could write a walkthrough

Best classic system to collect for?
Happy_Dude replied to jetset's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Genesis is a great choice. It seems like I'm always bringing home a Megadrive cart or 10 everytime I go thrifting. My collection is massive and nothing cost more than $5 (even the systems, of which I have 5). Most games can be had cheap. Plus it has the best controllers of all time (the 6 button ones) -
Whats a bet that phone still works

There will be no more Thrust. Platinum is the final version. The Al's have stated that they won't sell another version even if Thomas makes another "improved" edition. What do people have against a challenge anyway ?
-
Ah, but you are assuming most people have common sense.... It's funny because it's not really common

LMAO Should have asked where the ET landfill is
-
I have a great visual memory so I just know if I have a cart or not, even though it's been a long time since I could name them all NB: Label-less carts = dirt cheap NEVER pay more than $0.50 for one You never know, it might be somthing you don't have (somthing rare even) Although it's a 70% chance that a label-less parker bros. cart will be frogger

Welcome to the forums. Be sure to check out the homebrews. you can download some roms from the database or buy them in the store if you have a real 2600. It's amazing what the homebrew programers can do with this old machine And NEVER click on one of NE146's links
