  1. I have two and one is brighter orange than the other. One of them is a "Patent Pending" model and the other is a later production. I don't recall which one is brighter though. They are also slightly different internally.

  2. The Epyx 500xj must be a love it or hate it thing because I freaking hate them. Hand-cramping noisemakers is all they are to me. I used to really love the CX-40 but maybe it's because a lot of mine are getting worn and unresponsive, I've slowly transitioned over to my Slik Stik and Tac-2 joysticks. I don't think I could go back now, especially after seeing a lot of my personal records increase after switching over.

  3. For your reading entertainment:

    My favorite complaint so far:

A customer reports receiving a child's swimming pool. The package was clearly marked, "pool has holes." Bargainland did not mention this in its auction listing.

    "Receipt of "empty box" shipments"

How in hell do you send an empty box without knowing it? There is no excuse for that. Or if there is please tell me, I may have some stuff I want to sell ;) .

Hey no kidding, I've got a lot of stuff I could sell NIB*

  4. Looks like the silver atari logo is in the wrong spot too.

:dunce: D'oh, maybe not. I could have sworn it should be closer to the corner than that. The only other thing I notice that might be wrong is that the joysticks look like they have some orange paint on them but AFAIK the Vaders shipped with all-black sticks. At least my original did.

  5. I try to find some redeeming quality in about any of the 2600 games I own. But out of all my games, Slot Machine is probably the most pointless. IMHO it makes Skeet Shoot look like the height of entertainment.

I also nominate, Bugs, the Swordquest games, and Mythicon games.

  6. I'm not a big guy but I sure couldn't wear a ladies small. Even if I could, I wouldn't wear it because it buttons on the lady side.

I bet you didn't know that the reason men's and women's shirts button differently is so that when the man is driving, they can peek inside each others' shirts. The English blokes miss out on this benefit though. Hmm....maybe in England it's reversed. Any of you folks from across the pond care to shed some light on this? ;)

  7. I don't think it will happen. Also I think 7800 compatibility would needlessly drive up cost, and for the general public not really increase the appeal of the item. You might be surprised how many people don't know that there are other Atari systems than the 2600.

I suppose it would be cool if it were reproduced, and I'd probably buy one just to have it, but I just don't think it has much of a chance. If it does though, I've got a buttload of Pac-Man carts I'd let go for the very reasonable price of ....hmmm..... $25 apiece.

  8. Percentage-wise I cast my vote for Imagic. Like already mentioned Fire Fighter being their only real dog. I would say Activision simply because of their outstanding titles, but they did put out some poor games along with others that while not bad, don't really grab me.

I try to play a good variety of my games, but I only play about half my Activision titles on a regular basis. Of the companies that have a decent-sized library (around 10 or more) I probably play a higher percentage of my Parker Bros, M-Network, and Fox games in approximately that order.

  9. Oh, it's usually always worse. I heard that clicking on one of his links or topics contractually obligates you to give him your first-born child unless you can guess his real name. -- Wait, maybe I'm thinking of something else.

  10. Glue a small piece of thin adhesive rubber/felt onto the round part of the button inside the machine.  ;)

I did something kind of similar to this for a button on one of my 7800s. I took apart a ball-point pen and removed the plastic clicky cap and slipped it over the button post. It was a bit thick so I filed it down a little. Works great now. It's long enough to stay in place when the button isn't pressed too, so no glue needed.
