Photoshop!!!?? Why, how dare you?????!!!! :D

is this a hack? Nah, more of a label variation like "Ploe Position" Here's a scan of mine if you're curious.
-
If you want to count Zellers, I think they're still around.
-
Yeah, it was. Out of curiousity my nephew recently called the 1-800 number off the back of an old Colecovision box and talked to a woman that directed him to the ecoleco website.

Xerox is entering the console wars? Not quite, they're going to develop one but then they'll just give the plans away. -

Nah, they probably already learned their lesson from the failure of the Pippin. -
Yeah, I figured there would be folks here who have heard of ecoleco. I just thought it was funny that he tried that number and actually got a response.

My nephew told my something kind of funny the other day. Evidently he was hooking up his dad's old Colecovision and had some questions so he called the 1-800 number he found on the system box. Turns out the number was still active and they told him they offer repair services and also directed him to ecoleco.com. I looked at the site a little bit, but haven't checked it out really closely to see just how much they're affiliated with the Coleco of old.

A for creativity??? or maybe not!!!

Heh, I didn't immediately see the lighter in the first pic and i thought maybe somebody had somehow managed to convert it into a paintball gun. **looks at NE's post** That's messed up. You know it would be perfectly logical for nudists to were a get-up like that in the winter. But there are green leaves on the trees! What gives? -
New Induction into the eBay Hall of Shame - Conclusion
candiru replied to Mindfield's topic in Auction Central
This thread was an interesting read. I can't say I blame zathras for his behavior though, you clearly Yoshied him even after he warned you not to. -
So I recently picked up a sealed Intellivision II console and I'm debating with myself what to do with it. The box is a little bit thrashed but still tightly sealed. I never had an Intellivision before and it's the first system I've ever even seen around here so it's new territory to me. I'm really tempted to just keep it and experience the thrill of cracking that sucker open and reveling in the glory of pristine vintage goodness. Realistically though, I don't see myself playing it very much. I'm tempted to keep it just to have because of my interest in old electronics, but maybe I'd be better off just to sell or trade for a 7800 setup. I keep going back and forth. I've been checking finished items on ebay for intellivisions but the prices are kind of all over the place and I didn't see any sealed ones either. Is a sealed system that much more desirable than one that is simply CIB or is the difference negligible? If I do decide not to keep it I'm not looking to make a killing on it but I don't want to hose myself in a trade or sale either. Anybody have a clue as to what something like this might be worth?

Didn't see one...can I assume you mean the Auction forum? Saw some opinions...appears to be mixed bag! D'oh, used to be called ebay auction central or some such. Damn those Als and their never ending quest to update their fine website.
-
Yeah, I should have said the ebay forum here at AA.

I guess my collecting goal would be to reach 200 unique 2600 games. Right now the number sits around 175 loose and boxed games. Oh, and to get a 7800. Since I rely mostly on thrift stores and flea markets it makes for slow going. Wow that's a high number of scarce carts for a collection of 42. Have you made a couple of awesome finds or just been very selective about which games you choose to purchase? Just curious I guess.

If you head over to the ebay forum and poke around a little, you'll find plenty of opinions expressed on the matter.
-
Don't know how accurate or up to date these are but you could check the listings at tomheroes.com.
-
I'd say if you want one and only one console then the 7800 is probably the best way to go. Of course if you're anything like me, it's a lot of fun to have the same hardware you had as a kid so I can see the Sunnyvale heavy sixer as being pretty appealing to you too. Be prepared to pay a little more for a nice boxed heavy sixer than for other 2600 models though. Oh, and welcome to the community. Stick around, there's a lot of good folks and good info here.

My vader's most traumatic experience was probably when we loaned it to my cousins for a couple weeks and it came back with the B/W switch snapped off. Turns out one of them had stepped on it. I stuck a screwdriver in the slot and popped the switch back into the color position and it was that way for a good 18 years until a few months ago. I finally got around to cannibalizing a suitably decrepit console for its parts and finally made my baby whole again. It's still my main Atari and has a sharper more colorful signal than any others I have. My original joysticks have some family history too since the rubber boots bear a few slight teething marks from my younger sister.

I gotta ask...Did you save all the packaging from the ingredients that went into it?
-
Yeah, I agree, that was an excellent deal you got liquid_sky. For that price I probably would have picked them up for tradebait if nothing else. Yeah, you gotta love the guys that put $10 on Pac-Man just because they've heard of it and then price something much more desirable really low.

Nice snag Inky. I've been hoping to find Frankenstein's Monster myself ever since Stan made such a glowing post about it. I too would love to have a store like that near me. There are a few that carry 2600 games but they usually never have anything (when I go) except bottom of the barrel commons.

That's not 'technically' a submarine, though... Sure it is, if I remember correctly it was originally designed for ocean research but then commandeered by the government. It's OK Inky you don't have to give up your never wrong status since it's a fictional submarine.

Don't forget Fantastic Voyage.
-
Well, my friends and I used to do 4 player M*A*S*H by playing the usual 2 player game and then have 2 other people sit behind the ones with joysticks and cover their eyes and give directions by yelling UP! RIGHT! DOWN! etc. Nah...not really I think they've all been listed already. Too bad there aren't more though, multi-player gaming rocks.

Here are a couple of interesting articles from loonygames.com. They talk about some of the things you folks have already mentioned. I don't buy into everything the guy says but they're interesting reads. Are You Sick of Games? The follow up: Still Sick of Games! I haven't gotten sick from a game other than a headache and feeling a little off, but not necessarily nauseous, after playing PC Doom for about 4 hours straight. Wolf3D never bothered me at all. My wife likes 3D platformers like DK64 but sometimes they get to her after awhile and she has to go lie down. Looking around in the camera view gets to her the most.
