  1. NOW you pipe up! I just sold the Falcon on eBay. I decided to go with the 1040 STe. I have in my hands a 32mhz booster and fast TOS 1.62/2.06 switcher. Except for the RAM and 256 color desktop resolution, these should make the 1040 STe a better machine for both games and programming.
  2. I used to think this way, too. But then I learned that almost all modern televisions allow you to disable all of the slow image processing by setting it to "Game Mode". My current screen (32" Samsung SmartTV) goes from 12ms lag to 2ms when I do this.
  3. I would immediately buy 2, except I simply don't have the skills to finish the board off. Maybe pass it to Lotharek. He has been great about taking designs and producing them on demand.
  4. I'll pipe up, since I don't see it being mentioned... The Sophia puts out a DVI signal, but can do so at a number and variety of resolutions; some 4:3, some 16:9. Which of those options your Sophia is set for was flashed to the device before Simius sent it to you. That a monitor accepts DVI and adapted HDMI does not necessarily also mean that it accepts them at the resolution your Sophia is pushing. Knowing what resolution your Sophia is working at is the trick to knowing whether or not a monitor will display the signal.
  5. Wanted to give my AtariAge family first shot at it, but it looks like I'm moving it to eBay.
  6. Not to pile on, but it is a funny visual...

  13. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It does make me wonder about things that were released on both cart and disk; BallBlazer for instance.
  14. I am looking to add Galaxian to my collection and I prefer diskette releases over cart releases. I'm looking on eBay and at some of the archive sites, but am only seeing car releases. Was cart the only medium it was release for? Also, if you have one you'd part with, please PM me.

  16. Do 431 posts give you access to that beard level?
  17. #2 is fantastic. I never liked the stiff, upright run cycle in the originals (I and II). Yeah, #2 is the clear winner.
  18. My opinion is that the changes make for a game that is not worse and not better; just different.
