  1. Here's a 7330. I think this is probably my favorite version of Space Invaders. This game is so fun.
  2. Here's 21,910. I forgot how much I love this game. Galaxian is better than Galaga, don't hate me because I'm right.
  3. 16,950 The trak-ball really does give you higher scores!
  4. All of my games are available on my website along with source code.
  5. The red, blue, and green cops are deterministic-ish so it's possible to lure them into the corner without too much trouble. The yellow one is completely random, so getting all four is a matter of getting lucky with the yellow cop and having him group up with the others.
  6. I'm still around, I'm just not unemployed anymore and don't have as much time to work on this stuff as I used to. Rest assured, I have a new 5200 project in the works, I'm just not ready to show it yet.
  7. I don't even remember what a good score looks like in this game anymore, but here's one to get you started: 33700 Feel free to disqualify my scores, since I am the author of the game and know way more about how it works than anyone else does.
  8. If you want a little more detail, RCLKLO is incremented in the immediate vertical blank interrupt that lives in the BIOS, so it gets updated during every VBLANK period, and RCLKHI is updated when RCLKLO rolls over. If you write a custom immediate VBI (which is rare in my experience) you'll need to update the clock yourself. Also, if you disable VBI, the clock will stop since nothing will be tending to it.
  9. Yep, still around. Just terribly busy with life stuff. This project, however, might be dead for now. It was poorly planned and probably announced way too soon. I may come back to it in the future, but for now I've started a new 5200 project. I'm not going to give any details on it yet, not until I'm sure I can do what I'm trying to do, but I do occasionally post some stuff on Discord about it.
  10. Finally got a chance to listen to this. I'm actually a really big fan of Super Breakout on the 5200. It was one of the first games I played on the console and it just seemed so much better than the 2600 one I had at home. Still love playing it from time to time. As always, I maintain that Kaboom plays better with the 5200 sticks than it does with the 2600 paddles. I may be alone on this, but I don't think anyone can change my mind. Really looking forward to River Raid, since it's easily my favorite game on the 5200.
  11. Wow, these were so long ago. Glad to see that people are still finding them useful.
  12. Well, I don't want to give away too much, but I have a three game plan right now. 1. Santa Claus 2. ??? 3. Pinball game We were discussing the pinball game. I love pinball and I have a great idea for what I want to do. It's away down the line though, and I've been taking a bit of break from 5200 stuff to deal with other nonsense, but I do hope to be back at it soon.
  13. I ran into Capt. Bob at PRGE this past weekend and we had a nice little talk. I mentioned that I was missing the manual for my copy of Space Shuttle, and he went ahead and found one somewhere on the floor and bought it for me. Give him another "thank you" from me the next time you guys get together. I also may have dropped some of my future 5200 plans in conversation.
  14. I would frame the 5200 cover art and hang it on my wall. Once I get a new job, I might do just that.
  15. I'll be there, but only for a few hours on Saturday. Will most likely hang around the AtariAge booth talking 5200 and signing random things.
  16. Glad you enjoy it, and that somebody is playing it! In retrospect, I wish I would have put a little more into that mode. A game length selector would have been nice.
  17. Fun little tidbit. I dropped a reference to this game into Pork-Chop's ending in the PC version of Magical Fairy Force. I guess I have a shared universe now, or something.
  18. It can be really tough because the yellow cop doesn't actually chase you, he just moves more or less randomly around the maze. Getting all four requires you bait the other 3, and then get lucky with the yellow cop's movement.
  19. It's been quite a long time, but I'm trying to get moving on this project again and posted a short video with some new stuff.
  20. Qix was the first game I saw and played on the 5200 and it blew my mind. Still love it to this day.
  21. I think Kaboom plays better on the 5200 joysticks than it does on the 2600 paddles. Super Breakout I'm not so sure about.
  22. Here's a little video of me goofing off this morning on twitch with the game.
  23. Just released the PC version of my 5200 game Magical Fairy Force on Steam.  https://store.steampowered.com/app/2144100/Magical_Fairy_Force__Champion_Edition/
