  1. Er, I see. I suppose it's all a matter of tasate, but I definitely think T2K is far and away the superior game.
  2. Some games that are both fun to play and easy to find: - Tempest 2000 - Iron Soldier - Super Burnout - Val d'Isere Skiing & Snowboarding I really liked I-Wars, but most folks seem to think it is mediocre. Games that are great, but harder to find and more expensive are: - DOOM - AvP - Power Drive Rally - Missile Command 3D And of course, if you like 8-bit Star Raiders you'll love BattleSphere - provided you can track down a copy.
  3. I love Advance Wars. It reminds me of the old PC-DOS game 'Empire', but with pretty graphics and fancier gameplay mechanics.
  4. I think that what's generating a lot of the "it's a fake" comments is the barrage of pseudo-updates being posted all over. We've seen posts popping up all over the place for an emulator that is supposedly great - but still unavailable for release. If it isn't being released, why bother telling people about it??
  5. As a Cube owner I look forward to trying out Unity when it is eventually released!
  6. I agree with these other doubters - these 'Potato' guys are like the boy who cried Wolf! They should either release something that works - even if it's only a couple of games like T2K or whatever - or stay quiet until they're ready for a release. I smell fakery!
  7. I own a couple of consoles with about 40 different carts, including BattleSphere and a couple of Songbird carts. Although the old console is of course preferable to use, I'd still very much like the option of playing some Jaguar favorites like Iron Soldier or Atari Karts on a laptop! Go emulation go!
  8. I don't understand the point of their claiming they've got a working emulator. They should either release what they have, or stay silent on it until it's ready to release.
  9. I own three out of four (don't have Hyper Force). If you like Defender, get PSE; otherwise get Skyhammer. (I like both but prefer SKH.) Phase Zero is interesting to try, but too buggy and incomplete to be a priority if you only want one cart.
  10. I think the whole "emulation hurts development" argument is garbage. I don't believe it for a second: 1) Look at all the DOZENS of new games released or in development for the 2600, the Colecovision, the Vectrex, the 5200, the Intellivision, etc. If anything, emulation makes it a lot EASIER for developers to test changes and debug. 2) Emulation of these platforms has increased interest in the old platforms. Now instead of colecting dust in basements, these old consoles are valued and cherished - and get played. And as they get played, collectors look forward to and buy new games. If emulators for the Vectrex (and to a lesser extent the others I mention) hadn't been released, many of today's video game players would never have heard of it. Yet precisely because of emulation, we've seen several new games released for the Vectrex - and more on the way. Emulation >ROCKS<
  11. That's wierd, cus although he says Jaguar in the title banner, he says "for the NES" in the body of the ad. I'm guessing he just cut and pasted the text from someone else's NES Rayman auction - at least I hope so for your sake! $10 is really, REALLY good for Rayman. I'm kind of jealous: it's a pretty decent game, and one of the few Jaguar carts I don't have!

    Jag Link

Essentially the Jaglink is just a cable that connects two Jaguar consoles head-to-head. The only games that make use of this capability are DOOM, BattleSphere, and AirCars.
  13. If you get handed lemons... make some lemonade. Instead of griping about the JagCD being so expensive, look at all the otehr auctions. If you've ever wanted a ProController or a less common cart, now might be a good time to bid!
  14. Oh well. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
  15. I know a lot of folks like to slam EBay, but if you want to get a complete system cheap, that's the place to go. You should be able to pick up a complete Atari Jaguar with controller, powersupply, and AV cable for about $35 US plus shipping. You can also pick up some good commons like Tempest 2000, SUper Burnout, CyberMorph, etc. for maybe $10-$15 US a pop. Sometimes you can pick up a used system bundled with several carts for a good deal. I bought my Jaguar with 9 carts including DOOM and ATARI KARTS for $90 US. Considering that ATARI KARTS can sometimes go for maybe half that (or more), I thought it was a good deal.
  16. I kind of miss the snarling cat sound myself...
  17. I can't really agree with you. I agree that the Jaguar has more than it's fair share of crap games, and I've never been all that big a fan of AvP anyhow, but the Jaguar has a handful of really unique games that rock!
  18. I believe that TBird has posted several times here and in JI2 that if you are interested in buying BattleSphere, that you email him at www.battlesphere.com and ask to be put on the standby waiting list. And I'm sure he has said that there will almost certainly be further production runs of BSG...
  19. About 1 year ago I bought a copy from Telegames for $50 plus shipping. I'm glad I did - maybe I'm in the minority with my opinion but B2K is easily one of my personal top 10 games for the Jaguar. I'd rate it about an 8 out of 10. You can find my review here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/jaguar/rev...iew/R30508.html
  20. I'm happy with my BattleSphere Classic - both copies. (I have two Jaglinked Jags...) In fact, I'm thinking of selling one copy so that I can pick up BSGold in the future. If you guys want a copy of BS that bad, I'll sell you one of my copies for what I paid: $140 US plus shipping. I paid $190 for my 2nd copy, so as far as I'm concerned $140 is a bargain for this great game.
  21. I was about to buy Phase Zero from B&C - but when I found out that Sognbird might do *something* with PZ I decided to hold out and wait to see what Carl might pull out of his hat.
  22. I bought the SW2K cart, and think that for $60 it was a pretty good deal. If you don't like the items B&C is selling, the solution is simple: don't buy 'em!
  23. There's an Atari Anniversary cart for the GBA. I think it has Asteroids, Missile COmmand, Tempest, and a couple of other Atari games on it. Is it any good?
  24. $40 seems to be the going rate for a complete working Jaguar. They are pretty hardy beasts except the cart contacts sometimes get dirty, giving the infamous red screen. Clean the contacts, reseat the cart, and you're running. Like others have said, check EBay and other sites to see what's less common, and pick that for your cart. For example, although Tempest is a great game it's also very common, whereas something like AvP or DOOM is rarer and more expensive - so pick them instead.
