i hope i am not in the same class as them now. :o

Yeah, I would say that you are. Destroy a R-6 next time or an R-7. And if you get a chance knife an R-8 for our enjoyment.

  2. Let Albert contact you again to help you out with verifying the cart.

    8)

He is more than welcome to contact me again!

Why don't you contact him instead of making him chase you? You could message him now if you truly wanted to ;)

Because when we originally talked he said he would check some things and get back to me. When I didn't hear back from him over a week later I contacted him again. He apologized and said he had been busy and would definately get back to me. He never did! I had to assume he wasn't interested or didn't have time for it. I am not upset, he has a right to do what he wants but I am not going to make a pest of myself or beg! I have a feeling that this is what you all did to Steve. When I was in contact with Albert I tried contacting Steve to see if he would talk to Albert. Steve wouldn't return any of my emails, even though I made it clear I was the guy who originally found the game and contacted him first. I figure he was bombarded with emails and calls about his game and is now fed up and won't even respond to me!

Sounds just like Albert. He never answers or gets back to you. I call B.S. on that. I have PM'ed him many times and for much less important reasons and he ALWAYS gets back to me. There is probably no one more dedicated to Atari than him.

  3. Don't let him get to you, it's just that we've had our share of hoaxes here and when something too good to be true comes along (like the Air Raid box) people are naturally skeptical. If you're going to trust anyone here, trust Al.

Sorry, this time I wasn't trying to be hard on him but it probably did look that way. From his answers it looks like he is credible and I do want it to be real but I just have a feeling that it is not real...but I would love for me to be proven wrong. I have no trouble at all eating my words if it is something cool like a new Atari game. Oh, just for the record, I was a believer in the Air Raid box and posted such when many were doubting ;) :P

The guy posts here and anyone here is able to state his opinion. I agree with you C.C. this Red Sea Crossing seems like a hoax. If I am wrong, oh well. And if people posting here scare him off (again) then too bad for him. Anywho +1 for calling nag whatever his screen name is out.

  4. Just giving this a bump in the event that nagn2 ever makes another appearance around here.... My offer still stands.

He's been on the forum since your inital post, so since he didn't respond to your initial post, what makes you think he will respond now?? :?

    Better late than never.

  5. Is'nt this the same guy under a different name starting up with the Red Sea Crossing crap?

    Huh? :?

Here, I'll help you out. I was thinking this is same guy awhile back that claimed he found a super rare, never heard of before cartridge 'Red Sea Crossing'. Thats what I meant. I might be wrong, but I thought I would throw that possibility out there.

  6. I have seen other people's collection which makes mine look like the dropings of you know what. Anyway, here is a vague look at my collection.

    My collection.

My Vcs Is not really shown but trust me, its a simple Atari VCS - CX2600A with a paddle and two controllers. I know there is no rare games here, but I prefer not to spend to much money. Most of this came from flea markets. Tell me if there is anything you like. Also I know there all cramped together, I usually don't have em all out at once. Most of the time their in their box except for the VCS, Pong, and Intellivison. And that's not my ball.

    P.S.

My camera is horribly smudged. These pics were taken with a tripod. I'm working on cleaning it now.

Hey, don't put your collection down. Your collection looks pretty good to me. In a few years with a little work it will be great.

  7. I personally have always referred to most atari games with Iron Maiden references. For example, I never say "spitfire attack" when I could say "Aces High". "No escape" has never crossed my lips, in favor of "flight of icarus", "Congo Bongo" is clearly better off as "Murders in the Rue Morgue", "Haunted House" becomes "Fear of the dark", "2 minutes to midnight" is always a better way to say "missile command" and of course when YOU might say "Custer's Revenge", I always refer to the cartridge as "Run to the hills".

Not sure how this has anything to do with the topic, but what would you use for Smurf, Plaque Attack, or Threshold?

  8. It is with a somewhat heavy heart that I announce that I will no longer be running the Poll of the Week here on AtariAge. I have been at this for about five years (three or four of the them with pretty good regularity), but as must have been clear to anyone who visited regularly, it's not been much of a priority in recent months. I've enjoyed it and I hope you've all enjoyed the various topics I've raised, as well as the Annual "Shodown".

I did try to start back up at a decent pace again at the beginning of the year, but I soon fell behind again and eventually it went stagnant. I won't deny that the recent very nasty Nolan Bushnell discussion somewhat disenheartened me and contributed to my decision to move on, not only from the Poll of the Week (which I had been contemplating officially withdrawing from for some time), but from AtariAge as a whole. I may peek in from time to time, but I'm fading more fully into the distance. (Look...there I am...on the horizon...)

I got in while the Site was still the Atari 2600 Nexus and I've seen it grow into a wonderful resource. My posting of my 'Return of Mario Bros." hack prompted the creation of the hacks section and it's become a wonderful place for new takes on old classics, not to mention landed me the gig working on "Activision Anthology". I like to think I helped make AtariAge a nice place for fans of Atari to hang out. I leave with few regrets and many great memories.

Hopefully, someone will pick up the mantle and get the Poll of the Week back to what it was when I started. I think it's a great way to get different topics going and you never know which one will spark a fascinating discussion.

Thanks to everyone for their participation. It's been a good time.

Don't let a few ignorant posters on the Nolan Bushnell topic turn you away. They say ignorant one liners on almost every topic they post in (and they post on everything). I have enjoyed your polls and am not happy to see you go.

  9. Personally does the amount of money Wonder makes really matter? The man makes more than enough to live very comfortably. So whether that amount is $100,000 or $10 Million it in all intents, and purposes is all excess anyways. From the signs I get Wonder is very well off. That is all I really need to know.

I guess it matters to the guy that asked. I am curious also, but would not ask such a personal question to someone I do not know well. My income is well documented (U.S.Army retired CW3 20 years) thru many websites, so I guess I personally do not give a hoot if anyone knows how much I make.

  10. Does anyone know whats the correct number of copies of Air Raid ever made, cause in the auction, ontop he said Original Owner-Good Condition-Only 13 known to exist and when you scroll down I believe but when you scroll down the same page he says, Some articles have called it the holy grail of 2600 games. There are less than 20 known to exist. So is it 13 or 20 and does it really matter how many was made if this is to be the only one thats known to be known?? Meaning, if another person came out showing they had one, would that mean the game is not as worth as its going for or no matter if 13 or 20 people came out and said they had it, they all would be worth around this much, yes I know this one is worth more cause it has the box, but just curious how that would work. Collectors and collecting stuff has always interested me. So thats why I'm trying to see what others thoughts are.

Lots of Air Raid questions. You can use the search if you can't get everything you need here.

  11. A 455? Olds engine in a chevy? And it is a 402 not 403.

Ack! You're right. For some asinine reason I was mixing up Eric's Chevelle with my dad's '69 Cutlass, because I was just talking to my dad about dropping a new block into his car.

Olds made a 403 and a 455. I was talking to my dad about both of those options as his Cutlass only has a Rocket 350 in it (which is anything but a Rocket, lol).

454 all the way then. ...spendy as hell, though.

Perhaps I should start a blog for the chevelle. I have a feeling I am going to get crazy in love with it! LOL

I'm debating on upgrading and adding NOS emblems throughout the car to make it 'look' like say an SS or something. My wife thinks I'll be a fraud and shouldn't until I get the 396 in the car. What do you guys think?!

As for the pinball topic... there are a FEW that I would love to have.

I love Gogar. At one time, I had the 17th best score on PlayStation Network. I thought that was pretty high being that I just recently started playing it. I've got my eye on a few Gogar machines locally, but I really don't know if I have the room. I've pretty much decided that I think the Caribbean Cruise cocktail will never go away being it was my first pin. So I'm not sure if I'll get another one at this house. Yet... we are attempting to move in August again... so... it could be a possibility.

I also like Creature of the Black Lagoon, Haunted House, and Black Knight is fun as well.

Other than that... I'm not sure what other pins I like.

What did the car originally come with? If you do not already know, you just look at the VIN and you can find out from there. The VIN will tell you everything you want to know (even the original color). From there you should have a starting point on what you want to do.
