Checked out the auction today. Already over $4000 with 9+ days to go. This one is going through the roof. Probably 10 pics of it on there. Anyone got any guesses on what the end price could be? We should start a poll or something =)
Read the thread.

I'd bet who whom ever wins and however much, they will pay the highest price both now and for the future of this game. Almost certainly since the attention is going to cause others to surface, just like this one did as a result of the last big sale, the price may go down can't wait for that box full of unopened copies from Venezuela to pop up on eBay.

That would be so funny........

I am guessing it goes for around $7000.00.

What are you looking to spend on the Space Shuttle pin.? The reason I ask is you are fairly close to me and I have a friend that has one that has been shopped and is pretty nice.
Fair price on it, beats me, I don't know much about pins. I've heard it's a good one to start with because it's not super-expensive but is still fun...
I recently sold mine for $700 which I think is fair market value ($650 to $850) just my opinion though
I'd gladly pay $700 for a Space Shuttle. I really like that pin. ^_^
$700 is a decent price for a fair machine. A shopped Space Shuttle you are looking at $1000 easily.

Quartet was pretty rare; a mid-eighties Sega 4-player scrolling shoot-em-up. Hmm.. might have to add that to my YouTube videos.
Do you have a link to your vids? Thanks.

I got a free model 2 Genesis with no games or cables, and I am trying to test it to see if it works. I was just wondering, What does the Genesis display when there is no cartridge? Does it display a picture, or tell you to turn it off before inserting a cartridge, or just show a blank screen?
Sorry about previous post, just a blank screen on mine.

Thought I would put this here instead of announcements, because I think more arcade and pinball people read this thread than the announcement thread. There is a pinball and arcade game show June 11th-13th at the Seattle Center. There will be 250+ pinball and arcade machines set on free play there. It's $40 for a 3 day pass. There is more info. available @ nwpinballshow.com . Hope to see some Atariagers there.

Really nice looking work.

A 455? Olds engine in a chevy? And it is a 402 not 403.
Ack! You're right. For some asinine reason I was mixing up Eric's Chevelle with my dad's '69 Cutlass, because I was just talking to my dad about dropping a new block into his car.
Olds made a 403 and a 455. I was talking to my dad about both of those options as his Cutlass only has a Rocket 350 in it (which is anything but a Rocket, lol).
454 all the way then. ...spendy as hell, though.
Anyway enough off-topic, I am still looking for Space Shuttle for my first pin.

396? Pshaw. Drop at least a 403 in it, but make it a real BIG BOY TOY and put a 454/455 in it if you're really going to "upgrade"....

Never really played Sinistar in the arcades (tried once or twice, got wasted fast) but just watching others play it I knew I'd never get the hang of it.
For me, counting only the games I actually tried to play, I'd say Stargate was one of the hardest. Defender was hard enough but something about Stargate's controls made that task even more terrible.
Lunar Lander was basically impossible for me. I might get to the third try once in a while but I'd eat up all my fuel too quickly.
Gravitar is an extension of Lunar Lander and so was even harder.
Karate Champ hasn't been mentioned. Usually I'd play against a friend for a few quarters. Once we decided we were done feeding more quarters the "winner" would take on the computer opponent and that guy would just strut out and beat me or my friend unmerciful. We would laugh at that and play each other Karate Champ just so one of us could get creamed by the computer.
Another game nobody mentioned is Empire City: 1931, that one started out easy but at a certain point the tommy gunners were too difficult.
Rip-Off was hard mostly because of those controllers and the increasing speed of the enemies (and never getting your little triangle pods replenished). Just thinking about playing that game again gives me carpal tunnel.
Tailgunner was hard, once you lost that shield (and you never got it back) it was only a matter of time before you died.
Robotron 2084 was too difficult for me, I would watch my friends who were good at it and try what they did but I'd always get wiped.
The laserdisc game Cobra Command beat me solid, too. I loved the anime look to it and being the gunner for that copter but at a certain level I just couldn't kill the enemies the right way. Love the sound effects for the guns and the explosions, that cost me a lot of quarters.
Moon Cresta owned me. I loved that game and would try and try to get a high score but having that stacked ship made it so hard to avoid getting killed.
I own a Xevious machine, it's one of my favorite games, but I still never got that good at it, it was always so difficult once I died the first time, the enemies got harder, especially those exploding black balls.
Great list.
Stargate - Tough one. I did find I was able to play longer on this than Defender.
Xevious - Loved this game, but I was only able to get past the first mother ship and was done.
Karate Champ - Not trying to brag, but could get quite far against the comp.
I never played Empire City, Rip-off, Tailgunner, or laser disc Chopper Command.

Wow, what an amazing find. With the rare titles in the bag you purchased, you should go back and buy all of them. Maybe, you'll find an Air Raid. You seem pretty well versed in whats rare and whats not rare.

Congratulations! You get +1 "I wanna be popular" points for parroting mindless statements that have been argued ad nauseum for the last 15 years on every classic gaming board known to man.
For the extra +5 bonus points please tell us how:
A. E.T. caused the gaming crash
B. Atari should have sold the NES when Nintendo offered it to them
C. The Jaguar was (or was not) a 64-Bit system.
+ 2K Monies if you can work some C-64 or Amiga bashing into your argument.

WOW! Someone's underwear is too tight today. Here is a list of my own:
1) I only just joined your precious forum two days ago.
2) Was the Comic Book Guy on the Simpson's based on you? If you read your post with that voice, it sounds just like him.
3) I didn't post to be popular. I am popular enough with my newly found Air Raid cart. Which I now wear on a gold chain around my neck. Nerd Bling!
Wow. You have an Air Raid good job on that. Even though I think your story on that is a little suspect. Might you be that same guy from Texas who pulled his auction on E-Bay last year? In my opinion you are just drawing up interest again (with a new A.A. name) for your Air Raid that you are soon going to try to sell on E-Bay (again).
There are many Pac-Man 2600 bashing threads here, so post on them. Tempest is probably the fairest moderator here. And I think it is a bad idea to bash him.

I used to think CTCW was the holy grail. I finally got one a few years back and thought I had it all, but after joining A.A. I see I was mistaken. There are many 2600 holy grails out there that I did not know about, until I joined this site. My holy grail now is a boxed Air Raid. After reading a recent post (as long as this person is being truthful) I think it may be possible to get one.
-
Good job on getting that one. I have a Lochjaw search at E-Bay and did not get a heads up on this one.
-
Very nice score. I rarely find any 2600 stuff in the wild.

I read all the posts and agree with most of them, especially the third party pay system. That has to be the stupidest thing on buying an item that I have ever experienced. I just do not get it. Why the hell as a seller pay some 3rd party to process your order? Lazy? As far as caps. lock or font size I am O.K. with that. When did those things become annoying? I guess some folks read alot of Maddox' website.
What does drive me crazy is that idiot AnGiE ThAt DoEs HeR AuCtIoNs LiKe ThIs. VERY ANNOYING AND HARD TO READ! Especially since she sells alot of the games I need to finish my 2600 collection.

Nah way overpriced. Here is what they go for, if ya want one. HHW

All though this one has some Plaquing.
Is that for cart alone or complete in box? A big difference.
Phil
It says C.I.B. in the ad. Fairly good deal too.
EDIT: Question already answered. Sorry.

I have been trying for awhile now to get a loose Custers Revenge cart. The last one I tried to get sold for $65 and that was just for the cart. Sealed would probably fetch $120-$160. I bought mine C.I.B. for around $100 a few years back, but the cart. does not work.

Never heard of anything you mentioned except for Cloak and Dagger. We had a few of those floating around in the area (Tigard)I grew up in.
