  1. I never played #1 or #9. Since I owned Robotron it was not too bad. Defender is pretty much impossible. Joust very easy to get 200k Qix is a tough one, but did not play it enough to give an honest opinion. Phoenix was pretty easy for the first few rounds of completion. I forgot how hard P.P. was I very rarely made to the end (after 3 or 4 races?).
  2. How did you is the question. You can't use patterns in Ms. Pac-Man. I did not know that you can't use patterns in Ms. PacMan.
  3. Since tremoloman has not responded to my question, does anyone know where you can get a new PS3 for $249? I would like to get one for my stepdad and at that price I am in.
  4. Thats a great find, good job. I have yet to get a good one, but I am hopeful.
  5. Where are PS3s $249? Is it used? I just bought mine and it was $299 at Best Buy. As far as comparing them, I can say without a doubt that the PS3 is the choice. My Wii ( rather my daughters Wii ) is pretty boring. Of course there are some fun titles, but I hate the controller or the MANY controllers this console offers. It honestly feels like a different controller for every game. I know I am exaggerating, but c'mon, she literally has over 4 different type controllers; standard, nunchuk, pad, some type of steering wheel, and a board (I think). As for the PS3 I have one single controller for my games and it works for all my games (few though they may be). It just seems to me that Nintendo is making a fortune on all the stupid add-ons for their games.
  6. I recently bought Crazy Climber and I play it at least 5 times a week. I am hopeful that I beat the T.G. record one day.
  7. Thank you for your post. Very un-biased, but I ended up getting the slim because of the posts concerning the reliability. As I am on strict budget (retirement U.S. Army) I wanted to go with the more reliable system, the PS3. I have no regrets, it is fun and keeps me occupied. I guess the only thing I can complain about is the lack of one title 'Dead Rising' I saw it on Youtube and would like to play it.
  8. Not sure I played this one, but I remember the first was tough and I never got very far. Which one was the harder of the two?
  9. Good job C.S. what happens at the end? And does it end on the 7th delivery day? Thanks.
  10. You forgot Punch Out. But my vote is for Berzerk
  11. I have quite a few and play my games often. And they never get boring (especially Adventure).
  12. What game(s) did you get when you purchased the PS3? Bio-shock. Probably the best game I have ever played besides RE4 on the Gamecube. I am hoping to get a few titles for Christmas, but I am a little tapped after the purchase and can't get anything else yet. I am hoping Dead Rising comes out for the PS3 soon. I like 1st person shooters and rpgs, any title suggestions?
  13. Uhhh.... no and no. Check his completed listings. Yes, he has sold a few at his stupid prices, but he is sitting on a shitload of inventory that is moving very slowly. There are way more Odysseys sold by other people on ebay than he is selling. If he wants to keep this market monopolized, then he has to keep buying all of those other people's Odysseys that are selling at slightly inflated prices. If you couple his need to purchase all the cheap ones with the snails pace that his current inventory is turning over, then you have a recipe for disaster. It is totally unsustainable. The only questions are how much will-power does this guy have and how deep are his pockets. This will come to an end, it is just a question of when. How is it not smart to corner a particular market? And if he is selling a few at his " stupid prices " then I guess he is on the right track. So your no and no is completely without basis. I really do not want to get into a silly forums battle with you, but my point stands. It is pretty smart to corner the market on this system. As far as what he sells now is not important, it matters what he demands in the future. You just don't get it. He is buying WAY WAY more than he is selling. If you look at his various accounts he has sold a couple thousand dollars worth of them, but he has bought several thousand dollars worth of them. To top it off he isn't winning every other auction. He is artificially driving up the price on other people auctions, but he doesn't win them all. People are still able to buy them at much lower prices than his, so his "monopoly" is out the window. He has not even gotten close to turning a profit yet, and he won't turn one anytime in the near future. If you think it is a "good idea" to buy $5000 of dollars worth of old electronics in order to sell $1500 dollars worth and sit on a huge amount of unmovable inventory, then I am glad that we are not business partners. This guys business model is totally unsustainable and he doesn't have the market totally cornered. This thing is doomed. Eventually he will run out of money or storage room or he will realize he can't corner the market. At that point he will stop buying and only sell. With other auction prices normalizing due to him not driving up the sale price, his stuff will be even more absurdly prices. He will sell even less and realize it is time to get rid of the stuff. Then the market will be flooded with his excess inventory and market prices will be artificially lowered due to the enormous amount of stuff for sale. I am not saying that it isn't ever a good idea to corner the market in something, but this market isn't one where it can feasibly be done. I am glad we are not business partners also. You got it in your head that you are right and nothing will change that. You have no idea how much space, money, or determination this guy has. Eventually if he does get most of the product he will be able to sell at his price or maybe he will never sell anything more. Time will tell on this one.

  15. How would you update scramble? It is one of my favorite games of all time. If I were to update it I would not change anything accept the controller. The controllers are very petite and when you manage to find one these days (RARE) they do not work very well. I was fortunate enough to get to play a multicade type machine at the Portland retro game expo and the controller worked great. Other than the controller I can't think of anything I would change.
  16. PS3 it is then. Thanks for the information/opinions gentlemen.
  17. I played this game at Disneyland (Aneheim) back when I was stationed at Ft. Irwin in 1991. Great game, I would love to own it.
  18. Like I said before, this guy is smart to corner (I doubt it) the market on Odyssey game consoles. There is no reason to be upset with him. He is just trying to make a buck and seemingly is doing a good job. I wish I would have had that foresight on rare Atari titles.
  19. 35$ an hour????? That is way cheap. I have a Centipede and a Hypersports board in need of repair. Are you able to fix arcade boards? If so, please PM me and we can work out a price.
  20. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I want some new opinions (hopefully). I am going to buy either the XBox 360 or the Playstation 3 slim. I am not concerned about backwards compatabilty. Please tell me which one is the better of the 2. I have a 52in. LCD tv and broadband. Thanks.
  21. I certainly don't think God would encourage us to make Odyssey collecting a top priority in life, nor would He encourage us to crudely make fun of someone's name. I agree with you 100%.
  22. Why do you care about what he is charging? If people were not paying his (Dick)price he would not be selling at such a high price. And about the God talk.......... I seriously doubt God gives a crap one way or another. I do appreciate your passion for fair pricing, but the market determines pricing, not Dick Sanford or you. And for the sake of arguement, lets say he did buy up all the old systems. He is extremely smart for doing so, and can corner the market and set his price and we will pay it or go without.
  23. I have never seen one like this. Maybe someone removed the label and reversed it?
  24. I agree the prices have been going down recently, except (of course) the items I want. A few of the things that I actually keep track of that I own are down a bit. As far as being worth only a quarter of what it was once worth is not what I am seeing at all. I see a maybe a 10% price reduction. Keep in mind these are just the things I keep track of. Oh yeah, if that light switch plate does not sell, please PM me and maybe we can work something out. It would go great in my game room and help motivate me to get a Pac-Man dedicated.
  25. Tempest is one of my favorites (actually own one) and pretty good at....people use to hate playing doubles with me As mentioned earlier you can fly diagonally to beat Star Castle, way back then I played for about 8 hours to see if the score would roll... Asteroid Deluxe was definitely difficult compared to the original Some that I haven't seen listed or missed: Fenzy and even Berzerk was difficult after a few levels Star Wars (another favorite) was also pretty difficult till you learned all the patterns of the towers and trenches... Tron was somewhat difficult, again once you learn the tank spots and the light cycle patterns it was pretty easy Another tough one I forgot about, Berzerk. I honestly must have invested over $200 plus to get remotely decent at this game. Even getting past the first quick shot round is tough. Good job on Star Castle, I never have been or will be good at this game. Tron is one of my favorites and it is one I am good at, of course after learning the patterns. Star wars is kind of a mixed bag. I can consistently get over a 2 million, but just can't get past the hump and be able to marathon it. As far as Frenzy goes... I have only played it a few times and was bored.
