  1. Here's my last entry. And if you want the HOtL entry as a JPEG, it's here too.
  2. I've always thought this would be an improvement.
  3. Yeah, that's what I'm using now. It doesn't matter that this is an Atari 2600 VCS, does it? Also, applying the composite video mod wouldn't bypass this problem, would it?
  4. I guess if that's the case I'm screwed, huh?
  5. I've tested it with two copies of E.T., Defender, Frogger, Freeway, and Donkey Kong. They all roll. Freeway is in color, but none of them will even respond to controller commands. What are the odds that somebody'd donate a PAL 2600 and 8 NTSC games to a Charleston, SC Goodwill, anyway?
  6. I just returned from Goodwill with an Atari 2600 and 8 games...I figured that for $25, it'd look nice with the rest of my video game stuff. Besides, I've always wanted one. Anyway, I hooked it up with whatever the $3 Radio Shack adapter is called (I couldn't believe my luck when I found it sitting in front of my VCR), and the picture was rolling like crazy. I don't think it's a PAL/NTSC problem because some games display the correct colors, but some are in black and white. I've tried channels 2 and 3 to no avail, and I looked all over the message boards but couldn't find any working solutions. I cleaned a cartridge with alcohol (no effect), and now I'm working on taking the thing apart to clean the cartridge slot. Any other ideas?
  7. I just found a 2600 at Goodwill with a Gemstik (or whatever), AC adapter, and 8 games. E.T., Freeway, Outlaw, Grand Prix, Defender, Frogger, and two others that I can't remember. $25 total, but I can't get the picture to quit rolling long enough for me to play. Maybe I'll figure out how if I look around on the forums some more.
