Yeah that sounds good! Humans in cages or trapped with coloured keys would lend itself nicely to some backtracking. ^^
The idea of flying up to the buildings is neat as well, or maybe there could also be a SHMUP style level where he has to take down a large 48-pixel garbage monster the size of a building. So he has to fly up and shoot its head.
-
I think given the limitation you have it well designed without being over designed.
Picking up Garbage Bags, opening cans, and picking bags from cans gives the player plenty to do when not blasting the monsters. It gives different required actions while being able to re-use existing assets so it's clever.

If you add exploring buildings or something being able to find the naked women holograms or rescuing humans to add a another layer of the collecting would be cool, and give the player something to hunt for.

Super cool game!

I love the art direction. The gameplay is simple, but addicting as well. Going into buildings would be sweet as well, add an extra layer of exploration. ^^
Can't wait to see more.

Same here! I never got into the Star Fox series until Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube, but that game is still my all time favorite action-adventure game and I've really enjoyed all the other games in the Star Fox series that I've played since then too (Assault, Command, and 64 3D). I've still never played the original outside of laggy emulation though, so the SNES Mini will definitely be worth the purchase for me just to have an official release of Star Fox 1 & 2.

Right on man.
I really love Adventures as well. I bought it day one after school in my high school days. ^^ Still love it even though it's a Zelda clone.
Star Fox 2 is such a fun game too I can't wait to finally have a legit way to play it. :3 It'll be great if we can both pick up one and enjoy our Star Fox fun time. :3

I don't have like a lot of time to play much of anything. T_T
Though I do enjoy watching the curtains hanging in the window in the evening on a Friday night with the N64.
-
Yeah Star Fox is my favorite Nintendo Series and now I'm gonna have to go along and get one just so I can have the first legit release of Star Fox 2.
The rest of the lineup is killer too, I'll actually wanna play most of the stuff, since I've been wanting to revisit a lot of them.

Hehe, that's all very peculiar. ^^ With a name like RamrodHare I'd reckon you might prefer Chocolat. ^^ I bet the Meowing would get everyone at the club fired up too! :3 I know I would!
Chocolat hes quite a place in the world of Carrot Kingdom™ and I'm coding her part in now! :3 Her role makes quite a bit more sense, as Jinny's kind of the stranger in a strange land type. ^^ At least in my crazy mind.
Jinny has a wacky story of how she got to the Carrot Kingdom™, which I'll elaborate on in some way.

Oh thanks so much!!
Got a lot of things re-arranged and fixed this weekend. :3
Glad you're enjoying it, the next boss will be a fun time as well.
Who do you like better, Jinny or Chocolat? ;3
-
I have bought one and enjoy it.
Especially now that Carrot Kingdom runs on it quite well. -
You helped me fix that dumb bug in Carrot Kingdom, so I'd be a jerk not to oblige.

Yay! :3
I think this next boss will be fun, because it's different than the Breadcat (not that the Breadcat fight isn't fun) it'll mix things up.
There's a few incidental changes I'd like to make too to flesh the existing stuff out a bit more. Add a few more sounds like flapping for the Fruit Bats and things.
-
Just a bit of an update and how the things will be going forward.
Finished some housekeeping on re-writing some things to give me more bytes in the main bank, as well as finished up the rest of the haunted forest levels.
So now I'm working on the 2nd Boss Battle. After that's done I'm gonna put out another demo. So you guys have some more things to play with.
However, after that I'm going to see about re-writing the collision. I hate it as much as you guys do. After the 2nd boss demo which will be 2/3 of the game more or less, I won't do anymore new development until the collision is good, because if we're going all the way I don't wanna put out Jinny's first game as a crappy collider game.
In the meantime, for potential packaging, manual, promo art, etc. A new artist has offered to lend his services and has done a really nice rendering of Chocolat.
Stay tuned and thanks for being patient!

What are you trying to do exactly?
Converting the DOOM32X binary to a .bat isn't the solution I would think. ^_^;
I'd think you'd wanna make a bat that references an external program that passes in the 32X ROM as a parameter.

Great news, my older Genesis Flashback is getting a bit long in the tooth so this is a definite buy for me, especially that it sounds great!

currently attempting to port brutal doom. wish me luck
Good luck, though I'd think trying to get the Cyberdemon would be a better starting point before you get too crazy. ^_^;

You'll need a WAD editing program like WADManager.
https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Choosing_a_WAD_editor
My advice would be to run from the command line:
WAD32X.EXE doom32x.bin doom32X.wadTo generate a base WAD (make a backup) and then go to town with WADManager or whatever you choose.
Read up on the Editing Tutorials and goto town. https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Editing_tutorials

Pretty much all of those things can be attempted with Saxman's WAD Converter I believe. I think you can use also use DeHacked patches as well to extend some functionality.
http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/649/
There may be a few more editing utilities, but that was the big one I remember. Hacking the existing engine, presumably as far as it can go may be a good starting point before you commit to re-implementing everything.

There's been quite a number of impressive conversions to 32X DOOM this way.
http://www.romhacking.net/community/1065/<- Saxman's Romhacking.net page has a good number of resources. Including hacking notes.

The video made me more excited for this. I had the same thought that they should send a couple test unts out. Would be curious if the supercharger and Kidvid would work. If they need volunteers I could put my hundreds of games and many controllers to the test.

I was thinking the same thing, "I wonder if my SuperCharger will work with this one?"
-
Yeah, my response also had a "you have already guessed..." line in it. Funny, why wouldn't they be more upfront about it being a new platform? Looking at Atari's Facebook and twitter posts about the Ataribox, half the responses are convinced this is another flashback system. They really should announce more details as soon as they can to clear up confusion.
Nice.

Yeah must just be a standard response until it's ready to be revealed, though you'd think they'd put those e-mails up after the fact then. Curious, but oh well, I'm still interested in learning more.

-
I e-mailed their development inquiry e-mail with interest in development, and basically they said, "You guessed it, it's a platform you can develop things for, but stay tuned!"

Oh yes you're right.
I was thinking of Space Instigators which IIRC uses the RESPx trick I use.

WUDSN + the Assemblers compiles code generated from G2F nicely. I like the format of the programs it generates. It was useful when starting out for me.

Jinroh,
Carrot Kingdom plays awesome on the portable!
The player sprite isn't as solid as it is on the full size consoles but I think that's because of the LCD.Thanks!
Yeah it doesn't play too badly, a few graphical glitches, but solid. Definitely the LCD isn't as forgiving as a CRT when it comes to flicker, AtGames needs to put a toggle for flicker like Stella, though they have other problems they should probably fix first.

Totally I was thinking something like Contra when I was thinking up ideas. It would be killer to have some more big bosses on the VCS.
