I e-mailed their development inquiry e-mail with interest in development, and basically they said, "You guessed it, it's a platform you can develop things for, but stay tuned!"

Atari Flashback Portable programming considerations
Jinroh replied to Karl G's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Oh yes you're right. I was thinking of Space Instigators which IIRC uses the RESPx trick I use. -
WUDSN + the Assemblers compiles code generated from G2F nicely. I like the format of the programs it generates. It was useful when starting out for me.

Atari Flashback Portable programming considerations

Thanks! Yeah it doesn't play too badly, a few graphical glitches, but solid. Definitely the LCD isn't as forgiving as a CRT when it comes to flicker, AtGames needs to put a toggle for flicker like Stella, though they have other problems they should probably fix first. -

True. Though I'm not always the most meticulous about counting my cycles at times. I was trying to think if I had played Space Invaders on the FBP, so couldn't remember if it had a problem with that multi-sprite or not. -

It has some trouble with Multi-Sprite trick in the case of my Carrot Kingdom title. Though it could be sloppy timing on my part. -
I'd be down for one at that price point. With Stella Carrot Kingdom will play pretty damn good.

Chaotic Grill (BurgerTime remake) in progress
Jinroh replied to splendidnut's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Ditto, I love me some Burgertime and your version has been one of the nicest looking ones around. -
Wow! Looking great man, I'm actually really digging that font. I'll definitely give it a spin later on my A8, it's been a little while since I've played.

Carrot Kingdom™ - Work in Progress 32K! - New Demo 10-16-2017
Jinroh replied to Jinroh's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Thanks for playing congrats on beating the bread cat! Yeah those ghost Carrots are tricky! Even for me. XD I'm getting back to work on the next segment and the boss so hopefully not too much longer for the next demo. I had to do some searching for a few months for a long term job so that set me back a bit. :/ -
Whoa! Super cool! Time to start adding network play to my port of M.U.S.C.L.E.

Thanks Syoung. That's a good list. I couldn't remember everything from last I was there.

Geekster's has a large and varied collection from 80s, 90s, driving, all types of games. If you're in proximity to North Ridgeville, John Salter's Full Blast arcade is great as well. Depending on what is closer. John has Tron, Disks of Tron, Journey, a whole lot of harder to find classics, and modern games as well like MK1, 2, UMK3, Killer Instinct, etc. Not trying to sound biased but I've been to John's a few times, so better remember what's all there.

Scrambled Screen - Any idea what I broke?
Jinroh replied to Jinroh's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Ok I solved it. Just in case anyone else has this problem in the future. After looking closely (shame my house is so dim) x3 The MMU pins in the socket some got bent. So I used the Marpet piece that plugs into the MMU slot to jumper those and it booted right up. Might as well try installing the kit again. -
Unsuccessfully installed a Marpet 4MB, so un-installed the kit. When I put it back to "factory default" hardware. I get this screen immediately after turning on the system. Did I kill the Video Shifter or other chip, or just forget something?

Great demo. Awesome progression, music, and effects. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting, never played this one, I'll have to give it a go on my ST. Seems like it should be doable in one form or another. Good luck on getting it rolling.

Great archive, thanks for sharing.

Game titles I like to see appearing on A8 hardware...
Jinroh replied to kiwilove's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Oh I see. I was actually going to do a game for my ST after M.U.S.C.L.E. though. -

Oh I see, well I wasn't planning on doing anything that goes above what has been done on the A8 before. -

Terraboink released 27 years late :)

Super cool! This looks great! Thanks for releasing it! I'm looking forward to giving it a go tomorrow. My 1040STf always wants new games to play. -

Since I posted M.U.S.C.L.E. in the thread here ages ago, I figure I'd post a shot of the current state. 99% of the graphical coding is done. DLIs finished, PMG/Char Software Sprites for the wrestlers, they move around, it scrolls. Time to start adding the gameplay. Once you can beat on each other, I'll make its own thread. Just thought I'd post this since my last update was like a year ago. x3 I honestly didn't work on it all this time until this week. Since I'm laid off at the moment I figured why not! -
Awesome job looks so clean! I would love to mod my Flashback 2 similarly as well.

Carrot Kingdom™ - Work in Progress 32K! - New Demo 10-16-2017
Jinroh replied to Jinroh's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Just a quick bump. I had a work contract so just getting back to work on Carrot Kingdom™, haven't forgot about you guys. Started working on the next two levels. Playing around trying to get them to feel what direction I wanna go with them. Also re-did the sprites for the next boss. Much improved. Thanks for being patient. Edit: What's this creepy thing here?
