  1. Hows the screen on games like Super Mario Bros? On my PSP 1000, hacked, it has ghosting, and you can't see anything when you are going fast. The screen blurs. How good is the refresh rate on the Caanoo?
  2. I tried (sort of) to find a similar thread to this, but I couldn't find anything. Anyways, I want to try out Atari 2600 games you can complete, as opposed to just playing until you lose all your lives. The only games I can come up with is Superman Adventure Raiders of the Lost Ark E.T. (I think) Aaaannnd that's pretty much it. If anyone can add to this list, or refer me to where I can find a list of them, please respond. Thanks.
  3. I'm writing a report about Pong and it's history, and I had a few questions. One. How much did it cost to play a round of pong, and it was 90 seconds a round correct? Two. Where would you find a pong machine in 1972/1973? Bars? Anywhere else? Three. Did Pong's controls in the arcade differ from the Pong consoles? I may have a few more that I can't remember. Anyways if someone who grew up at this time could help me out here, that'd be wonderful. Thanks.
  4. It's just about spreading the message. I doubt a single person in congress or the senate goes on Newgrounds, and the majority of them probably don't research anything on wikipedia... or anything for that matter. Now Sopa is known by many people, thankfully from websites like WIki and Newgrounds.
  5. Can you post a picture of your set up? I'm just curious what it looks like.
  6. Yeah, unlike back then where every game was pure gold.
  7. Parapper the Rapper Um Jammer Lammy Metal Gear Solid Pong Frogger 2 (Awesome game.) I need to play more PS1 games, I don't own too many.
  8. Damn $400 is all that would be worth? Man I may consider getting me one.
  9. Because those names weren't taken. Plain and simple.
  10. Here are what they were originally called. "It is interesting to note that while the arcade game set no specific time or place, the original design cast the six cities in the game as six major cities on the west coast of the United States: Eureka, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego. However, the manual for the Atari 2600 version of the game provides an entirely fictional back story for the game, presented here." And I guess Dave Theurer, suffered from nightmares of these cities being destroyed by a nuclear blast. Source: Wikipedia
  11. Try Parappa The Rapper 2. Or maybe try games where you make games from, like Megaman Powered Up, or those dungeon maker games.
  12. I think some Atari 2600 arcade ports are too easy, and make the game repetitive and boring, even on higher difficulty settings. I always prefer the arcade version because I know 90% of the time it will be harder than the Atari 2600 version. I like the difficulty, especially when it's a game that just requires you to shoot up. I play modern games as well, and the problem with Atari videogames is that they're too simple. That's FINE, as long as difficulty is high enough for me to be excited about. It isn't in alot of ports imo. Berzerk, Mouse Trap, all are too repetitive for me. But I'm weird here, I dismiss 98% of Atari videogames as awful, but love the 2% that I feel exceeded the trap of time.
  13. Wow one of those ads had 5 BUCKS for an Atari 2600 game... man I was born too late. >_>
  14. Sweet! I knew it was something dumb I missed >_> And I'll check out those MAME versions, thanks guys.
  15. So I downloaded Mame.... aaannnd this is what I get. I downloaded the MAME 0.144 sources in self-extracting 7zip format (Windows SP 3) and all it gives me is a bunch of folders with .txt files. No .exe. I couldn't find any thread on it, so maybe I'm just dense and it's self explanatory, but it seems I need some help. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do? And I'd like this latest 0.144 version, because I want to play Donkey Kong II - Jumpman Returns. I appreciate any help I get, thanks guys.
  16. That's why I leaned (The hard way) that the best deals are here on Atari age. And yeah, things are getting more expensive, but you missed out. That's why I tell people to buy PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games. There are as cheap as they are going to be right now, they will eventually rise and rise and rise in price. (Although it may take a decade or more)
  17. It's funny, cause I believe it's the opposite. I feel games today are too EASY!
  18. It's pretty simple to me. Both great games, but you can save in Super Mario World. So I just prefer it. I also love exploring the one world, as opposed to 8 different lands.
  19. Without a manual and a strange imagination, any Atari 2600 videogame can be weird
  20. HAWWT DAYUM THAT'S A COOL WEBSITE. Seriously, thanks for letting me know. I'm like a kid at a candy store, I want to check it all out Like I litteratly spent the last half hour looking through this website, I totally forgot that I was doing it to see Dragonfire until now lol.
  21. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I was looking for information on Dragonfire for the Atari 2600, including the manual, as well as if there was anything else (Comic book, etc) that came with the game. Anyways, I really REALLY appreciate it if someone did this. I know this request will require someones time, so again, thanks if anyone actually does it. I'll look around for manuals I have for my Atari 2600, and see if there is any missing on this website.
  22. Star Ship, to me, is an Atari game that stands out. It's different in that it's in first perspective. (I know there's a few others including Robot Tank) But when I got it, I got bored of it very quickly. The only fun mode was the 4th mode, it was where you zipped faster, and there were 2 enemies on screen at once. But even still, once the two minute sixteen second time limit was over, I didn't want to play it again to beat my score. But I feel my opinion is too far in the future. I was born in 1993, and I want to know the opinion of someone who grew up playing Star Ship, or appreciates Atari games far better than I can what there thoughts on the game is. Was it a great game for its time? And was it a game ahead of it's time? (In terms of the first person perspective aspect)
  23. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Video_games_by_year Just in case anyone else wondered, here's another alternative. It's kind of cool to research games in the 50's. Interesting stuff. And maybe there was only 18 Atari games released in that year lol wow.
  24. Yeah lol no, the goal is to find a list because I want to start reviewing atari games on Youtube, and I thought there needs to be some more variety and more quality, which hopefully I can provide. I'd like to start with the earlier titles, and than make my way through the years. Thanks, although it doesn't seem to have every Atari game there is. As I'm pretty sure there were more than 18 Atari games released in 1979. But it does help, so thank you
