Nevermind, I got MESS, and it records almost every system! But I originally wanted an Atari 2600 emulator that records, I assume most reviewers on Youtube use MESS. The only problem is it records .avi, but 5 minutes of gameplay ends up being 1.5 GB, or some ridiculous amount of memory. Anyways, sorry for wasting your time That's because you're using uncompressed AVI. You can throw that video into windows movie maker, and encode it out as 720p for youtube. You can also try using FRAPS for your recording. hi guys, is MESS what you would recommend for making youtube vids? thanks The quality I get out of MESS is pretty damn good. Like everyone else said, if you get a movie editor, you can lower it to Youtube quality. I want to start doing Atari reviews, currently I'm using MESS to record, and it's great.

Original Flashback2 Sighting... $24.99

Wow, maybe I have a fake flashback. Are the joysticks supposed to screw off really easily? I always wondered why people never complained about this... -
It's one for me. The collector in me wants to collect every system regardless of it's games, but the gamer in me says one. I could buy a system for one game, and be confident that down the road there will be another game that I'll play. I only bought a next gen console for Call of Duty 4. And I loved playing following games ever since.

Probably a really noob question. (And I did search btw)
JPjuice23 replied to JPjuice23's topic in batari Basic
It had nothing to do with being patient, I realized that I should start programming on something easier, so I thought it would waste people's time to answer a question I was going to ignore. But fair enough, I didn't even think about others. The .Spr and .pla won't open. Instead of the cool looking paint/graph function I thought I would get, it pops up a message saying "It cannot open, would you like to open it in Notepad?" I may have messed up during the install, but I did put the Bb path to the Atari2600.exe file that you're supposed to do, and I checked the 2 boxes below it. -
Hmm. What do you recommend a good zero-experience programmer should start with? I know I could google it, but I'd rather ask someone who can compare it to Atari 2600 programming.
-
Edit:Nevermind. I probably should start learning programming on easier platforms. I don't want to waste anyone's time on a question I'm not going to use. Thanks though.

Although it's best to buy a PSP 1000 or 2000, unlike what everyone here says, no matter what PSP version you buy, it will ONE day become hackable. People will find a way to hack into these things, but it's best to buy a older model. Or, better yet, buy a new PSP, and hack your old current one.

As long as it has a picture on it, I like it. I do like the clean look of the silver carts however.

Oh wow, didn't even know what Goodwill was when it opened up here. I guess I should go check it out

Review of the Atari 2600 Vadar on YouTube (comedic style) :o)

A FREE CABBAGE PATCH DOLL WITH MY COLECOVISION HOLY SHIT BUY BUY BUY!!! -
Hm. Scrolling is possible for the 2600 correct? Someone told me it isn't after seeing the Megaman 2600 video. Also, what about a rhythm game? Is it possible to have complex long music sequences. It's possible to have catchy beats on the 2600 (look at Reactor) but can it last longer?

I'm sort of interested in designing an Atari 2600 game, but looking at the very first tutorial, it doesn't even look finished, and it's wishing me a Merry Christmas from 2006. http://jbtutorials.wikispaces.com/ I appreciate the link you gave him, but is there a better tutorial to start making a game out of? I also have no experience, I just thought of a concept this morning and I want to see if it's possible if I could make it a reality. Anyways. Thanks.

Review of the Atari 2600 Vadar on YouTube (comedic style) :o)
JPjuice23 replied to RetroGamerVX's topic in Atari 2600
Yeah I didn't really like it, simply because you said it was funny. Had you just said a review of the Atari 2600, I'd think it would've been funny. -
Any game that is said to be the greatest will be called overrated. There's no such thing as the #1 greatest video game, since there are always a minority who doesn't like it, and will call it overrated. I believe it earns a 10/10, but that's just me.

Systems/games you regret selling or not buying when cheap?
JPjuice23 replied to GKC's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Nothing at this point. I was too young for the videogame crash to soak up on those deals. I should probably start buying up cheap last gen videogames, as I assume those will become expensive with time. -
Get a new hobby. Sell all your Atari games, and start over. Your a nerd, and you can't live with being a nerd. So guess what? Stop being a nerd. Go to the Gym. Work out. Renew and change your life. Pills ain't going to do shit. You have to be the one that changes your life, so quit being a baby and do something about it. Your a grown ass man, be independent. And Good luck Edit: Also, I don't mean to be a dick. I just read some of your blog posts, and I see something wrong with your life. Doctors, imo, think we are nothing but chemical machines, and if we are depressed, we need to add chemical A to our lives, thinking it would make it better. Truth is, that's not the case, we have needs, and sometimes we don't even realize this. These needs can't be contained in a pill. And when I mean "Needs", that can be anything, love, a drive for purpose, recognition, etc. The road of life you've chosen is a dead end, so don't treat life like it's a one dimension, point A to point B type of thing. You can change paths at anytime, and you probably should do that.

Original Flashback2 Sighting... $24.99
JPjuice23 replied to crsdawg's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
It's the Ralph's in Rancho San Diego, near Hillsdale Middle School. Although I posted that like 3 days ago, I sighted them a while back (Few months honestly) But there were alot, I can't imagine them selling out. If they did, than I really don't understand why they don't come out with a FB3. It's worth a shot checking it out if your ever in the area. -
This has to be one of the best I've ever posted on. Everything from the blogs, to the micro-blogs, to the awesome profiles, this is a full fledged social network. I've never been to a forum that has this much features, and I haven't even tried out chat yet! Anyways, I just wanted to say good job on the forum and even the website. This is definitely the Disneyland of forums with all the stuff you can do.

There's a Ralph's (Grocery Store) in San Diego with FB2's as well. No idea if they are + or not. -
What is Your Collecting Strategy?
JPjuice23 replied to SlowCoder's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have about 12 NES games and 19 Atari 2600 games. This time last year I had 9 NES games and, I'd say 16 Atari 2600 games. I slowly, VERY SLOWLY build up my collection. The reason? I think the more games you have, the less fun it is. I've payed attention to each game individually. For example,I grew into liking Dr.Mario. But, had I had way more NES games, I would've tried it once, thought it was boring, and never play it again. Now, I love Dr. Mario, as well as all my NES and Atari 2600 games. The only downside is I can barley relate, or understand any of these threads as I don't own/aren't familiar with alot of the games that are mentioned. -
I can understand emulating really old systems, but the PS2 is still new. The best way to play the PS2, still, is to go and buy one. There's nothing like the real thing, trust me.

Yes, hello, Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me in determining why my Atari 7800 displays a blurry image. Here's what the image looks like It also has these weird teeth on the side. Generally every game I have has a black column on the left side. It's not blocking the picture, but rather the entire picture is moved over. Here's the same connections, TV, everything, just with my NES. The image is clear, so I assume it's my Atari 7800 that's causing the problem. However, it's a Nintendo RF switch, so are these known for not working probably on the Atari 7800, or any other machines besides the NES? The Ebay seller I bought this from included this, which doesn't work for me because my TV doesn't have the proper connections. So any help with this diagnosis is welcome thanks. I really want to play Atari, but with the games blurred, I can hardly see any small dots. Which means shooting games can be unplayable (A.K.A. A large chunk of the Atari 2600 library.)

Or in any popular video format? I searched this forum, and found a thread, but it was in 2003, and alot changes in 7 years in the internet world. And if a majority of emulators can record, which one is the best? Thanks

Does anyone out there have these games unopened? Thats really what I want. I mean, I can't find any other $5 game place, so this seems like a huge deal to me...
