  1. A lot of games are playable without understanding japanese.

I made a good selection here, in the middle of the page, clic on each cover to open an article https://paderetro.com/2014/12/27/le-guide-du-newbie-de-la-wonderswan/ (in french, but it google translate quite well).

If you're not very "trial and error", remove Blue Wing Blitz, Dragon Ball, Inuyasha, Namco Super Wars, the two One Piece Treasure Wars, Super Robot Taisen Compact 3, the two Trump Collection and Uchuu Senkan Yamato. 48 games left. ^^

  2. If you don't mind some trial-error for some games, here is a list of 50 playable (and at least good ^^) games : http://paderetro.com/2014/12/27/le-guide-du-newbie-de-la-wonderswan/

It's the guide I made for the wonderswan (only in French, sorry). The part which interests you is in the middle (stop scrolling when you see the screenshots ^^). It's easier to choose which games to try when you have screenshots.

When you see the name of a game with an asterisk (*), it's a game which need some trial/error in the japanese menus to be fully playable.

Specifically to Wizardy, there are 4 options to switch to have the full game in english (except the troops name strangely...).

  3. Hi All

I present you my "virtual" collection: Due to the dispatch of my collection in three different places, it's not possible for me to show you real pictures. But it's a good erztaz of my collection. I only have complete or cartridge only games, and the most are in pristine condition.

  4. Is it forgivable that I have never heard of Wild Arms, much less that it's such a productive franchise?

It's strange that you never heard of Wild Arms, because Wild Arms 2 and Wild Arms Alter Code are the two who were sold only in US and JP (no European release).

But it seems that there wasn't ads for this Serie of games.

  5. Alien versus Predator: Bad Framerate, map non-lasting, Ugly Predator level, Predators Aliens and Humans like old friends, but inimitable atmosphere, stunning Gameplay, and excellent replay value.

Attack of the mutant Penguins: Sometimes Bad Framerate and reluctant maniability, quite short, but incredibly beautiful, a good variety of Levels and bonus, and... Fun to play.

Next time, I'll show you PS1, Gameboy/Gameboy color, Gameboy advance, Pc Engine, Jaguar, my Bastard!! Collection, and maybe Amiga CD32.

  7. Seriously, if you are interested in having a handheld gaming system for the damn near sole purpose of emulation, get a GP2x or GP32. They are a bit steep on ebay, but from what I understand, easy as hell to get hold of software on the internet. Also, there is the soon to be released Pandora http://openpandora.org/index.php This little number looks exciting, seriously! It looks to sell around 200 to 400 bux when it finally meets mass production.

    Don't forget the Wiz ;)

  8. Hum, there's no need to buy Gripshift, have another PSP with custom FW or opening the PSP battery to make it custom.

Just need your PSP Fat (Firmware 5.03 only), a normal memorystick, ChickHen (which use an exploit on the FW 5.03), and despertar del cementerio (to make a magic memstick and a pandora battery to have a Custom FW)

It's done in the Hour to have a Custom FW.

Only problem: I've got an "How to do" link, but only in french :/ (but I can translate myself, not the vague google one)

  9. I think I'm going to just end up getting the Pandora battery from Dealextreme. I've ordered from them several times in the past year or so and have been very satisfied.

As far as getting a bigger memory stick, I'm thinking an 8gig sounds sufficient, right? I won't be playing music or movies on it (I already have a 32 gig iPhone for that) so it will only be for games.

Ho... You could do it for free you know ;) (With the ChickHen and the Despertar del cementerio, You can all do by yourself, but only if you didn't install the Firmware 5.50 or above.)

For the memstick, 2 Go is the minimum, 4 Go is very comfortable, 8 Go is Big ^^

    I use a 4Go one, and I've generally 2-3 PSP games, 1-2 PS1 game, and 100 roms at the same time ;)

  10. SRGilbert, tell us if you've got some problems to install the Custom firmware, or to make the "magic memcard and the little pandora battery"

If Yes, I could help you (although my English isn't very accurate, I've installed many Custom Firmware, so my lack of language should be counterbalanced by my practice)

    If Not, well done ;)
