  1. I would like a CIB copy. I will give to you my monies.
  2. Jobs is the most inept engineer on the face of the planet, The Woz was the real genius (I grew up around them, Jobs is an asshole, and all he ever did at Atari was trouble shoot arcade games in the middle of the night) And from what I hear from friends that work at Apple, he's still an insipid and petty jerk... As for the boards... I'm honestly not sure, I'm just a collector/gamer, not an expert.
  3. Well, a mint one would be worth a lot more than yours Yours is worth about $20. Whats considered Mint to you and others on this board because after I wiped it off with a nice big clean rag it looks like its brand new, no scratches or worn off paint decals all look great as well. The picture shown shows some dirt on it and such prior to me cleaning it. I consider 'mint' to be sealed in box (never opened). I never heard of Mint meaning NEW in the Box. Why would they call it mint if it's new? Mint condition is an expression used in the description of pre-owned goods thats in like new condition. Eh... Not so much, I find nice looking Atari's all the time, and I never pay more than about $20 for them, and that's only if they come with games and joysticks and the like. Mint to a collector means "MINT" never used, sealed in the box, with a fine layer of dust from the Atari warehouse.
  4. UPDATE! Qwak still works, it's pretty awesome. Atari should have sued Nintendo for this... C'mon, Duck Hunt is a total clone. Next time I plug it in, I'll make a video for y'all.
  5. Okay, I reassembled some of the stuff, and found out that what I thought was a pong type of thing, was actually an adjustable blue box (one of the original hacker toys... you know John Draper) but if anyone here can tell me what this thing is, I'd really appreciate it.
  6. And lastly I have Pele Soccer, I know absolutely nothing about this game, I cant find any information on this game what so ever, all I have to go on is the schematics, and it's missing the other board. The only thing I do know is that it was never released. Enjoi...
  7. Now we move on to Space Race, I have three variations of this: Original, Moving Starfield, and my dads' Custom Changing Starfield. The one without a bunch of wires is the original. My Dads Changing Starfield is the one with the Signature in the bottom righthand corner. And the Moving Starfield is the one without a signature. Enjoi...
  8. So now we get into the treasure Chest, where all the boards are kept. So next isn't a prototype, but it is the first arcade game. Computer Space, full board set+1 extra. Enjoi...
  9. Okay, So I've mentioned that I have some rare ass prototypes of arcade games in my closet... well I decided to pull them out and take some pictures. I'm going to give each set it's own post, so I'm not double posting, I'm "updating". LULZ, enjoi. To start off, I want to show off the gem of my collection, Qwak. Already a super rare arcade cabinet, I have the prototype (both board and light gun) It comes in the box it was delivered in back in 1974, it has schematics, and some little mystery board. I don't know if it still works, but my dad says that it worked back in 1977 when he plugged it in last. Oh! Cool thing, the prototype board spells it "Quack" it's super sweet. So here it is, feast your eyes and drool.
  10. Hey guys, I'm planning on building a miniature PONG cabinet for my desk, and I was wondering if anyone out there could take measurements of their cabinet and send them my way? Or, if you already have plans for the cabinet, would you mind sharing? *sigh* Oh teh desperation.
  11. They're just black lab loaners with white text, and they're just end labels with ID numbers, nothing super special. Yeah, I cracked it open, just a ZIF socket wired to the board, I don't know if it will read EPROMs, I haven't tried. However, the inside looks very clean, not a hack job like I was expecting, but a carefully assembled piece of hardware. I'll take some pictures of the rest of the stuff once I have it all put back together, this stuff has been floating around in a garage for the last 23 years, but I'll do my best to reassemble what I have.
  12. Yeah, Chris was saying something like that, I'll reassemble some of the other components that were in the box, maybe this cartridge coincides with the other hardware.
  13. One of my dads old friends came over the other night, and he brought me a box of fun Atari trinkets (mostly old and unused prototype cart labels, and bits of developer hardware) But buried deep in the box was another small box full of chips and this thing. He said that these were distributed to him and his team back in 1980-81, now it's mine... sweet. I'm not sure what they were needed for, but it still looks cool and it works great (the chip in it is combat, no solder on the points) Maybe I'll crack it open and take some pics of the insides.
  14. No, no wallets, that sounds dumb to begin with. I'm making some fun little tech toys for when we're out scouring the landscape for our Atari stuff, it'll be neat. And yes, I'm biting the arthritic hand that feeds, but I refuse to lick the boot that kicks me.
  15. Lock it then. I'm trying to collect materials to make some fun tech toys for everyone, and all I'm getting from people is a bunch of cynical and myopic responses simply because I have a long standing hatred of a clearly inferior game. Try hassling the people that are going off topic, and hassling me for having a differing opinion. I know why I'm getting the short end of the stick here, that's no mystery to me, but I'm not the only one being an asshole. So if you want to live up to your "Moderator" status, try doing it. The finger is for all the people who are trying to get my panties in a knot (and they've done a wonderful job so far). I don't have to do this project, I'm doing it because I want to make the quest (our quest) a little easier. So maybe you guys could try being helpful instead of "I guess you never visited this 5 page section of my web site" or "right back atcha, Mr. 26 Posts" or "Wow, desperation and attitude in one post...good work...". If I wanted a bunch of crap from people all day, I'd go work at the mall. So go ahead and lock this thread, I'll start a new one and never mention E.T. ever again, that way I'll never have to hear another insipid comment from another knuckle dragging troglodyte fanboy about a game, one that they like only because everyone else hates it, ever again. SERIOUSLY, ALL I WANT IS OLD CARTS!!!
  16. I can understand you would have bought it. Everybody has different goals when it comes to collecting. For me, I have never looked at video game collecting as a source of income. I have always enjoyed finding old video games out in the wild for the sheer challenge of it. Virtually every item in my video game collection was acquired from doggedly scrounging through thrift stores, yard sales and flea markets, and very occasionally, by means of trades with other collectors. I've never sold anything on eBay, and I have no inclination of ever doing so. That's not an indictment on eBay or on eBay sellers. All I am saying is, that just isn't me. Video game collecting has always been a hobby for me, pure and simple. If I see a Frogger II out in the wild, it is enough just to have spotted it. I'm a bit like an explorer who ventures deep into a forbidding jungle to track down rare game. Not to capture it per se'. The satisfaction I glean merely from sighting a rare jungle beast often justifies the safari. Of course, if I spot a game I don't already own (not bloody likely), or if it's a game I don't have at least one backup copy of and I play it a lot, then I'll buy it and add it to my collection. But I cannot see the logic in buying a game for the sole purpose of selling it. It is fun for me just to have seen the game and left it there for some other collector to discover and get a great deal on a rare item he or she did not already own. If I buy to sell, then video game hunting becomes more of a business and less of a hobby. I do not savor the idea of pitting one video game collector against the other on eBay, who will then invariably drive the price to a point where neither will get a good deal on a game I bought for much less and didn't even want in the first place. Now, I realize the overwhelming likelihood has it that the Frogger II game I left behind will not be found by another video game enthusiast. Far more likely, it will be swooped up by one of the legion of iPod-toting business tycoons who scour five or six flea markets every day to buy anything and everything they have the slightest inkling might have "collectible" re-sale value on eBay. I can't stop the rain. And I surely can't stop it by becoming one of them. That is their business, not mine. But if I leave rare video games where I find them, then I have done my tiny little part of keeping the dream alive for the next intrepid game hunters who doggedly follow in the paths I blaze. I only sell the leftovers, if I find a fat stack of game stuff in the wild for a price I can afford, I'll buy it, keep what I need, and then sell the rest to collectors for a reasonable price.
  17. Huh. And here *I* was gonna say "Hatin' on E.T. is sooooo 1994. The only folks who 'hate' E.T. are the ones who read on the Internet that it's the Worst Atari Game Ever Made As Judged By People Who Don't Friggin' Play Atari." Talk about getting over yourself. Play some of the Mythicon or Apollo games then get back to us with a real opinion. "Get over yourself" right back atcha, Mr. 26 Posts. Hmmmm... drop dead? Stop with the vapid self-righteous crap, I want carts, not your smart mouth. Yeah, 26 posts, stroke your ego with how much time you waste on the internet somewhere else, I'm honestly unimpressed.
  18. they actually made that? which one is the layout of the school? I have thousands of wads but not that one.. It's a wad that was actually made by Eric Harris back in 1998 or so, It was called Tier. I think the level is pretty hard to find, I personally have mine saved to a zip disk in my closet somewhere.
  19. I guess you never visited this 5 page section of my web site: http://www.randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-et.html Well, I guess you are one of few. Besides, I hate that game, so why would I visit that 5 page section of your web site? I simply need a ton of old carts for a project that people will enjoy and benefit from, and you're pulling some fanboy crap? Get over yourself. Okay, they don't have to be ET carts, I just need carts, so I requested ET because it's the one everybody has a bunch of, and if makes you feel any better, I've already gutted out 20 of my own copies, and I still have 37 more. I'll announce it as soon as I have the first few prototypes done, it's fairly labor intensive and I'm the only one doing it, so it may take a few weeks
  20. I know that sounds freaking psychotic, but I need about 100 of them to start with, I'm working on a project that I think everyone will like (believe me, it'll be super special) Why E.T.? Because it sucks and no one likes it, so they might as well get destroyed. Anyway, dig around in your box of doubles (there should be like 20 copies in there) and let me know how many you have, and what you want for them (and none of that $1 each crap, you should be paying me to take them) Message me, and we'll talk business.
  21. Just got another Heavy Sixer from a lot of game crap I got in Stockton. It's not as nice as the other, but it has a super clean base, the yellow border around the switchers is nearly flawless, and it also works perfectly. Same price as the other.
  22. Hey, I made a flea market score last weekend, and I got me an extra heavy sixer, and it''s not fair to the other collectors for me to have two of them. So I'm selling the extra one, $35 + Ship, it works flawlessly, and is in excellent cosmetic condition (not mint, but still really damn nice) No power supply, and no controllers, but there is a hand full of commons to go with it if you want them. Pics coming soon, message me for more info.
  23. *Deep Breath* Not counting computers, clones, or adapters, so no powerbase or gameaxe pros here. Magnavox Odyssey Fairchild Channel F Atari 2600 (all variations) Atari 5200 (4 port) Atari 7800 Atari Jaguar (and CD unit) Atari Lynx (both versions) NES (standard, top loader, and Famicom) SNES (small version) N64 (like 5 of the damn things) Gamecube (15 of them, free to a bad home) Gameboy (gray and clear) Gameboy Pocket Gameboy Light (broken) Gameboy Color GBA GBA SP (signed by mc chris) Gameboy Micro Virtual Boy Nintendo DS Nintendo DSi Colecovision Intellivision Vectrex Sega Master System II Sega Genesis (all three variations) Sega Dreamcast Sega Gamegear (damn battery hog) Amstrad GX4000 (pal... damn) Phillips CDI (why?) 3DO Neo Geo Neo Geo Pocket Neo Geo Pocket Color Wonderswan Color SwanCrystal Playstation Playstation 2 Xbox Xbox 360 I think that's it, I don't have every system, But I'm pretty damn close... and I'm also close to running out of space in my room, LULZ!
