    those employees HACKED the psn, making them HACKERS. dont tell me otherwise, thats bull.

     

    lol.... you make it sound like being a HACKER is a bad thing.

     

    right now, it is a bad thing to me. Maybe if someone hacks the latest psp firmware, it might make up for it.

    I don't care if hackers hack thier own stuff, whatever. If they hack and it affects me, its a bad thing.

     

    and what they did was illegal anyway.

    There is so many ways that this hacking went wrong for general consumers. When xbox360 was hacked, they didn't have any problems with people trying to get credit card information, or cheating. There is 10x more cheating going on on psn now than xbl. There wasn't really a difference untill this year.

    Please tell me, why did people buy ps3's for otheros, the system is locked down so that you can't access most of its hardware in otheros mode, in other words, you could have gotten the same thing in some 200$ dell computer.

    NES- Dragon warrior: your all saving up for the next, more powerful armor/sword and your almost dead, the game refuses to let you run, you die and have to grind for money again...

    GBC- Pokemon, if you have 2 pokemon fighting at the same level, and the other just one shot kills you without having any super effectiveness... that pisses me off.

    Will nintendo stop messing around with crap like that and make a regular maybe gamecube style controller. Its better than the wiimote, but still looks dumb.

    I don't want to controll my wii2 with an ipad-looking thing.

    Controllers now days already cost like 50$, what is this going to cost? 125$ per controller?

    but here, the hackers do not own the servers that they fucked over, those are sony's.

     

    I don't care what they do with thier own 400$ gaming console. Now they are using hacked ps3's to kill Sony's servers, not just thier own property anymore...

    do you really need the best supercomputer to run stella or nestopia. horrible excuse. my Window ME, pentium 2 laptop without a standalone video processor could run those programs at 60 fps. :thumbsdown:

    You can play COD: black ops online for free from a computer too. In fact, most games on the ps3 have PC ports with online gaming.

     

    You don't really need a PS3 at all.

     

    You use it for what you want. We'll use it how we want. I don't tell you how to use yours, you do the same, cool?

     

    yeah, but in the process of running emulators and stuff on your ps3, the jailbreaking hackers gave the asshole hackers the oppertunity to ruin it for millions of people that come to expect a consistant online service, while a tiny fraction of homebrew hackers don't care.

     

    And yes, I'm sure Sony wants to keep the PSN going, even if we don't pay for it. They would lose sales because free online is one of the reasons for using a PS3 over the xbox 360. And I'm sure that sony is already loosing lots of sales over this.

     

    Its a big price to pay for a few select people to have thier PS3's mimic a 80's console.

    You know, I think that crap like this, killing PSN for about a week, is just hurting the community of the unmodded ps3 and modded ps3. This crap makes less people want to buy or use the system, and with no one wantiing to use the system, then there is no community, thus killing the "homebrew scene". I havn't seen or heard anything about ps3 homebrews, except that guy making the Kinect run on PS3 as a concept, all they did since cracking the ps3's security is fuck with everyone else's stuff. I don't care how many people want to defend these hackers, they did something that was WRONG. And possibly letting thousands of credit card numbers and expiration dates out there on the internet. I can't believe the things that these people are doing.

     

    Hackers: do this shit with your own property, I consider the ps3 system your property, but the servers are Sony's, so that is one step too fucking far.

    I'm about 75/25. I like consoles a lot more, but only the games that are good or that are affordable. If I can't afford it or just want to try it just because its just that bad, then I'll use emulation.

     

    also, If I hacked my PSP when I could (is there a way to hack it on firmware version 6.38?) I would be running plenty of emulators for my favorite games on it.

     

    I'm ok with whatever anyone does, Its not my choice and I couln't care less.
