  1. I'm a bit of collector and a bit not. There should be a "in the middle" option. I have bought atari games, like bowling and basketball, just to have it. Played those a couple times, then I havn't touched them since. when it comes to games over 5$, I don't buy them if I don't wanna play them.

  2. Here's my experience with the battery life.

About 35 mintues of play on the way to work - second highest brightness level, using full 3D, full volume and much touch screen controls. Then about 35 mintes of play on the way home, same settings. I put in about 40-60 minutes in the evening playing a 3DS or regular DS game and otherwise the system is constantly in sleep mode and StreetPassing people.

Playing this routine requires me to charge the thing after the second day. If not, when I get to work on the 3rd day it will be flashing red but will still make it through sleep mode all day until I can charge it at night.

Of course, as I mentioned if you sit in one spot and do a multi-hour session then you will feel the battery is not lasting very long, but after a couple weeks of actual practical use, I am not finding the battery to be a huge issue at all. Charging it afer 2 days of use is not unreasonable to me.

If I were going to plunk my ass on the couch and play for 2 hours or more (which I hardly have time for), I'd plug it in in any case

This is exactly my thoughts on people complaining about battery life. I just don't think I would be playing a portable console on my couch for 3+ hours straight. The PSP has some low battery life, and I'm fine with that. I have to plug my iPod in every day, same with my phone, People need to learn that a portable system needs to be charged on a regular basis too.

  3. Cant. He's my cousin's step brother and i dont see him very often, maybe around christmas or thanksgiving (we go to his house then). Maybe I could get a pic later this year, but this thread would probably long gone by then.

Trust me, it is horrifying. I couldn't believe the level of yellowing that thing has the first time I saw it.

  4. LOL, thats a relief. I was seeing an Angry Video Game Nerd moment with you stomping a cart into your Atari or something. Did you figure out what was up with that system? Or was it just that system and that game together that created the problem?

In the intellivision avgn episode, he says trying to put the cart in the system "is like trying to stick your dick in a cheerio"

I have a Dig-Dug thats pretty difficult to get in and out of my L6er

  5. But seriously, if someone thinks this forum has a problem with fan boys, they haven't visited many video game sites.

Most folks here own multiple systems and a lot own every system. I think it has something to do with most of us being over 30 and having jobs as opposed to other sites having members who are like 13 and having to rely on your parents to make major purchases. I say most because sure there is a small few that haven't grown out of it, but it's certainly a minority on this site and almost seems barely worth bringing up.

I think its because of insecurity in teens nowdays. make yours look like shit so mine's better.

  6. You know the one thing that really bothers me with this game? The sleep inducing attacks.

I use Hypnosis on an enemy and what does it do the instant I put it to sleep? Wake up. WTF why does sleep last shorter?! Its nice to have your pokemon wake up, but when I want to pound on an ememy, I want sleep to work.

  7. Plenty of the above points annoy me as well, but I have another one to add, although this applies more to today's games: Texts printed in tiny little fonts, like dialogs or status updates at the bottom of the TV screen. It's like the programmers couldn't fathom that we'd be sitting some distance away from our TVs and that not all of us have 20-20 vision. I've seen this in some PC games as well.

This occurs with a lot of ps3 games. Eg Dead Space is very tiring to play on an scart tv due to this.

As if sony and publishers said: either buy a digital hd tv or screw you

I had this problem when I was playing on my 4:3 sdtv, but when I got my sdtv that does a 16:9 mode, it was better. especially in Battlefield 1943
