Basically something is worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it.
One time I saw a hard disk full of roms go for like $2999.95, that is correct folks 3 grand! It featured the classic systems and some more modern stuff. Imagine that!
wow, illegal copies of games that you can get for free, for 3000$. i should do that

-
i can just see it, when the next consoles come out people will be like," oh, that hunk of junk 360. its graphics are crap. why dont you get a 720 instead?" and they forgot how awesome they used to be.
-
2. Metroid prime 3 looks as good as any other game i have played on the 360 and whatnotSo how is life playing games on that 8" black and white TV then?

But seriously, yes reviewing platform unique games and saying 'it could look better on X' is rather silly. On the other hand noting that say Dead Rising is an awesome electrifying zombie tour de force on the 360, and a graphically poor 5 zombie on screen snooze fest on the Wii is valid.
naw, its actually on a 45" hdtv (no joke) well, its 360 graphics for the wii (good)

i dissagree with bolth of those statements.
1. the term "graphics dont make a game" started with the 2600 and still stands today. (im not gonna put it as bluntly as to what i think of those statements so i dont offend anyone who agrees with them.)
2. Metroid prime 3 looks as good as any other game i have played on the 360 and whatnot. when i first played Metroid prime 1, i thought it blew away the xbox's graphics. (this thought was wasted as i played battlefront though. it looks like a 360 game.)
3. i dont care what other people think, its thier personal oppinion. i just get pissed when the little guy gets picked on unfiarily.

sorta like the 1,000$ smb2 with controller in glass case. i agree. idiots
-
mine is getting rather touchy. when i switch it on, the games act like i did the rapid on/off thing (is it called frying the game?)
is there any way to fix this?
-
1. if you want it to be on channel 3, there is usually a channel select switch on the bottom.
2. my joysticks are stiff, so i suppose thats how they are supposed to be.
3. the genesis controller has the same pinout as the atari. i guess sega didnt care about atari's pinout.
4. you use the select switch
5. space invaders, dig dug, combat.
8. combat, yars revenge, and other 2 player games.

I agree with all of the above and can also tell you one thing that's wrong with many of the platformers on the snes platform- They're too damn zoomed in.
They must have thought that having the biggest sprites around was what players wanted so don't be surprised when you can't see more than five feet in ether direction around your character. Didn't anyone playtest these?
BTW- The snes games from Disney are actually surprisingly playable. Apparently the mouse has decent programmers and some quality control...
you mean Kirby super star game? that is one that really ticks me off with the zooming. i like the NES kirby. that one has small sprites and a good veiw of the map.

i dont like the chunky monkeys on dk country. i really like smw2 yoshi's island. i think thats the best.
-
there is always someone stupid out there to go and buy something like that. i'd give them 5$ for that.
-
really? someone stole your atari 2600? wow, usually i hear about theives taking newer video game consoles like a 360 or other valuables. thats just weird that someone would break into your car to take an atari.
that would really suck though. i got mine for cheap by chance. if mine got stollen, i would have to pay for an overpriced one on ebay.

so, im sitting at my grandma's house waiting for the rest of the family to get here for thanksgiving. i dont have my laptop so i decided to use my psp to browse the forums on atariage. the thing is, it sucks on the psp's web browser. maybe sometime, could you admin, or whoever does the websie editing somehow make the website more psp-freindly?

78 1/2 exactly
where did the half come from?
-
oh yeah, stupid me forgot to consider pal games. oh well.
-
i thew stupid mgs portable ops + against the wall once. first, it pissed me off. second, it doesnt have a story to it, just that damn infinite mission crap. (that game was the biggest rip off ever, i thought it was the same as the first one, with more multiplayer stuff, but no, they had to get rid of the story and the funness of it and replace it with glitchy crappy online multiplayer.)
and i always throw the nes controller when i do something stupid on SMB, like run into a goomba or something retarded like that.
-
some of the harder duels on the psp's force unleased. they just know exactly what to do at any part of the battle.
-
he should have kept it and got an old 80s tv to go with it. then it wouldnt look so dang crappy
-
i was just wondering how many undiscovered games you guys think are out there, like prototypes and released games that are extremely rare. i would think about over 25, but there could be more.

I WILL ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BUY TETRIS FOR 20.99!!!
Good, that means I can buy all the Tengen Tetris carts from your local PnT for $20.99 then. That sounds like a decent deal, yes?

well, its the nintendo version not the Tengen version

50$ for the week old Metroid Prime: Trilogy. worth every penny i spent on it
-
ok, i sorta want to make something for the atari and it all looks complicated. is there anything that i can use to make it more understandable, or if there is a site that tells me whats going on instead of telling me to $1110hfjjjsdfjaj or whatever? i just want to make a.. simple something... (mabe a picture that shows up on the screen).
ive heard that the 2600 is the hardest machine to program, so is there anything i can use that is for someone with no experience with this stuff?

If you want to make your own music I recommend:
SoundX__1994___Hozer_Video_Games__Ed_Federmeyer___WIP___a1_.bin
So that you can hear how the instruments you choose might sound.
Is that better than Tone Toy 2008:
why is the page not found?
i saw your video on youtube about it and want to try that out so I can see all the weird sounds the 2600 makes.

when it says company in twain, does that mean its made there? if so it was made in twain
Yes, if it says "Made in Taiwan", then it was actually manufactured in Taiwan. I highly doubt Mark Twain was making 2600 consoles well into his 140s.
i dont mean that twain

i usually have to blow in the cart to get my grandma's Sears super video arcade to work
the one i have the most trouble with is armor battle. mabe cuz my dad used it so much with my uncle when they were kids.

ugh. what used to be the 1st player controller on my grandma's Sears Super Video Arcade (intv), the left side of the disk wont work, unless i press really hard. next time im up at the cabin (where its at) im gonna take it apart and clean some contacts... if it has any. im not very familiar with those compact buttons and things like that. i like the HUGE buttons that are easier to get under and clean. ill see about that controller. THAT console and controller was the one that brought me into the world of Classic Gaming, the second is the NES.
